our first show is sunday and will post pics of the stuff I make and how the sales are - this used to be an old auto dealership...the autos left and the owners couldn't sell the property, so they transformed it into a shopping area with very skilled craftsmen - the farmers market is in the car lot - if anything like this is in your area, check it out...the rent is very low and you don't need a tent, etc. or have to worry about the weather
will keep you posted on what sells...
def. let us know how it goes! I am located just outside Boston, MA - but I grew up in Western MA so I know Northampton very well. It's a great town - I am sure you will do wonderful!

Good Luck!

I posted a couple of craft fair items in my gallery today. One is a note card set in a matching tote for a teacher gift. Also a couple photos of my drink tags. I would love some opinions on pricing...Thanks ladies!

Cute idea for the scallop punch...and I really like the one of a kind idea. Now I have to go find my hero art apples set.

I posted a lip gloss recipe on my blog and show what my son did with it. He is nine and loves to craft. It was super easy and sold like hot cakes to the neighbor kids. It is a great and easy idea that I got from a Christmas thread here on SCS.

Would you recommend this for a christmas craft sale item?

I have never heard of the lip gloss. I am super excited, my 2 girls are going to love this. It would be a fun thing for the older kids at daycare aswell.

The lipgloss is easy to do, and our kdis (boys and girls) loved it! Love the scallops on top of the container and thanks for the hint as to where to buy the little jars!

I really love the idea of lip gloss...I'm going to have to get that stamp set. I found these two sites...and I'm sure there are soooo many others...for the jars.

Those are good prices. I found a site earlier and they had 144 pots for $.35 each, but you had to order in lots of 144.

BTW, made up some gloss today. We had cherry, orange and pink lemonade kool-aid in the cupboard. The regular stuff, not sugar free.

Made up the cherry, which turned a grayish, purple color. Added food coloring to make it more rich dark purple. Decent flavor.

Made up the orange, again more pink than orange. Decent flavor too.

Tried chocolate. Used powdered unsweetened chocolate---no flavor and light brown color. Added some melted chocolate chips (really old, found in the back of the cabinet) added some flavor and some richer color. Added some Nestle's powder and got some flavor. Not sure I'd market this as a flavor gloss just yet.

DH wasn't sold on the idea, but DD (8yo) was totally into it

Wonder if you could use the tins that you find at Michael's and Jo-Ann's for wedding favors, the Wilton tins??

cracked up at the idea of ch. chips...I think I have some that were supposed to be baked last Christmas...I'll have to look for them...this is too funny.

I wonder...how does the gloss feel after it's been chocofide? does it still go on smooth?

It feels a bit smoother than the Kool-aid ones. The KA ones seem to have sugar bits, but nothing too irritating or not expected.

Instead of looking in the forums, I looked in the gallery. I found two cards and here are the links. I'm hoping that the directions you are seeking are in one of the posts.

Default Thanks Kerry & some ideas

HI All, I posted some more craft fair ideas today--photo binder clips (if you look under my keyword "craft fair" or "3-D projects", I've got lots more) & also what I did with Kerry's idea for a wire-shelving display.

Okay ladies, I've been working on items for a few weeks now. Today I made a very long list of items I would like to finish before my shows start. But, I have a few things I do not know where to buy. Can anyone help?

Large wooden clothespins (I've heard Michael's but haven't tried yet)
Test tubes
Nugget tin holders
Chipboard Coasters (for the calendars and post it notes)
Mailboxes to alter
Empty paint cans

I'm thinking there are a few more things, but I can't remember right now and it's too dark to read my list.

Also, what size cello bags does everyone use to fit the top note die? I'd hoping to find the ones that fit at Michaels or HL, instead of just SU.

I just want to say that I'm so impressed with all that you ladies have done. I have a friend who has asked me if I want to split a booth at some shows this fall. Having never done it, I'm pretty intimidated at the thought. I appreciate getting the benefit of your experiences.

I got the paint cans at Lowes, they are in the paint section and there are quart and gallon size as well as the little buckets that make neat spa buckets. I got the test tubes and nuggest holders on the internet but I can't remember the name right now, I just googled "test tubes" and metal containers and found them. I will try to do a little digging in my receipt drawer shortly and get back wtih you again. The clothespins are at all 3 major craft stores, JoAnns, Hobby Lobby and Michaels, nearly the smae price at all 3. I think Michaels may have some mailboxes as well, back tihe the wooden letters and boxes to alter. I actually got all my mailboxes at Target right after Valentines day.

hope this helps.

Hi there!
Have a few suggestions for you:

Nugget Tins - Here

Coasters - Here

Hope that helps!

Hobby Lobby has plastic test tubes in the jewelry section.
stamponthis.com carries chipboard coasters, clear paint cans and window tins. You can also find the tins at specialtybottle.com but shipping is more expensive at that site, so unless you plan on ordering more than a dozen tins, stamponthis will probably be cheaper.
You can also find the clear paint cans at Michaels.

Chipboard Coasters (for the calendars and post it notes) >>>>> ask at your local 'Theme' Restaurant (Red Lobsters, Chilis, etc.) and ask to buy a batch, (Your local bar may have some as well)
Mailboxes to alter >>>>>> OrientalTradingDOTcom (Oriental trading Co.)
Empty paint cans >>>> call your local Home Depot or Lowes. Some have 'em, some don't

You girls are on the ball! I'll be heading out today to look and then shopping a bit online.

Thanks!

Anymore advice is great too.

I found the bags that fit at mike's in the section that has the cello bags for baskets, $2.99 for 40 (I think, the price is correct, forgot the number...senior moment ;-( )
the coasters can be bought at american coaster co. - you have to call to get plain ones and you get about 1,000

You can get test tubes here:

I get the paint cans at Home Depot.
