Thanks for all the wonderful ideas! I will be attending my first craft fair this weekend. I'm really hoping for some last-minute Mother's Day shoppers! I was really curious how to price items, and how many items to make, so thank you all for your information!

Well have just made over 100 notebooks for my fair.

I will post a photo after the 16th, as I will be able to show you my table laid out with goodies. I'm just making little notebooks, shopping pads, A5 notebooks and some paperclip bookmarks, as I want to find out if cheap and cheerful sales.

I found some great foam shapes on sale, so my daughter choose loads for me.
When I did a bootsale (Garage Sale) uk version, I didn't have many customers but sold about 40 books, and this fair is 6 hours of people coming out to buy.

Only 10 days to go wish me luck.

Default Yard Sale/Craft Sale

I will be in a yard sale/craft sale at the end of the month at my DD's elementary school. It was only $20 for the table and they are handling all of the advertising and the signs etc.

I have a few items on my blog and SCS gallery if you want to take a look, but hope to be posting more this weekend! I think that I will focus on making a lot of teacher's gifts and graduation gift cards/cards.

Any suggestions on other items? Do you think that Father's Day items would be a good idea? In all of my other craft shows, I have done a lot of nugget tins and chocolate items, but this sale will be outside (weather permitting) and I don't want everything to melt! Trying to keep prices fairly low since we have all been hit pretty hard in this area.....

Thanks for any suggestions you can give me!
Beth

I'm sure you're gonna get a few different answers for this. The RSVP pens unscrew, and I stamp on a piece of paper or use patterned paper and slide them inside. Simple for a matching stationary set.

Hugs,

So funny,...I do mine with red line double sided tape and micro beads,...always a big seller, have to remember the stationary set idea as it would be a great "gift" item for the holidays.

You can also do both of these together. It gives a great effect, because you can see the DP or stamped paper just barley through the beads.

where can I buy the RSVP pens, clipboards (best price) and what works best for a post-it note holder? - have a show coming up in a few weeks - one more question (sorry) - what is the best way to adhere paper to clipboards and what is the best ink to use on the small tiles?? - as you can tell, I'm new at this - thanx so much - carole

You should be able to buy the RSVP pens almost anywhere, like Office Depot or Walmart. Seems like sometimes they are a little hard to find, but I don't know why. For adhering paper to clipboards (or almost anything) I have mostly been using Stampin' Up! gluesticks....someone said to apply the gluesticks to BOTH surfaces, the paper and the object for best adhesion. I don't know if other glue sticks work as well but I have had lots of good luck with the SU ones. You can also use Mod Podge, which I have also done. In some cases you might be able to use Sticky Strip.

I use modpodge on my clip boards...1 layer, then the paper, smooth and let dry..add another coat to protect paper.
I use staz-on ink for everything. It works on paper, tiles, wood, plastic etc. not a ton of colors but works great

For glazed tiles, you can use pigment ink or StazOn, and you'll need to seal with polyurethane spray or paint over the stamped images with Crystal Effects. For natural stone tiles, stamp with pigment ink, like SU craft ink, and bake at 350F for half an hour, no sealant needed.
Good luck on your fair!

Default covering clipboards

I just watched a how to video on the Michael's website on covering clipboards with Designer Paper. She used modge podge as her adhesive, but the "ah ha moment" was when she LIGHTLY sprayed the paper with water on both side (and wiped off excess with a paper towel) to give it some plyability
and decrease wrinkles and air bubbles! WOW

Here's the link to watch it:
http://www.wherecreativityhappens.co...paign=wnam0609

I can't wait for my SU order of buy 3 get 1 free papers to come in and make some clipboards! Think of the Rockability DSP for some fun teen clipboards!

hi everyone - my fair isn't even here yet, but I wanted to tell you about CD booklets I am making for the fair - they are the blank ones made out of chipboard (lightweight) - river city rubber works sells the folders and the pinecone press has several idea books out - I made 3 so far, travel , boys, and wedding themes and I've already sold them and more...
will post pics in the next week or so - also got an order for 100 of the single folders for an upcoming wedding - these will be given to wedding guests (CD will have photos) as favors - they all will be alike, so once I have the design, it's just repeating and repeating and repeating... you know what I'm going to be doing in the next few weeks...

I have gotten a HUGE positive response to the butterflies! DH was surprised I shared my secret, but it is going to be published soon, and wanted to share it. I can see these as huge spring/summer/garden sellers at craft stores!

Enjoy!

I made a few brag books today with the clear envelopes as photo pages. I would think these would go great, especially around the holidays.

Forgot to add, I'm thinking about taking an alphabet stamp set and a few pads with me to personalize. That might be more trouble than it's worth, but worth a shot.
