You could still use the peppermint patties idea. I think the tag from the new Happy Heart Day set would work, as well as the Heart stamp from the new Time Well Spent (Hostess Level 3) set. Maybe small flowers would work too. Put a few in a cello bag and for the topper something like...Flowers and Chocolates~Lucky You! lol

Here is a link to lots of poop poems:
http://www.kimstamps.com/poop.html

and survival kits which would also be a great idea for an early year show:
http://www.kimstamps.com/skits.htm

I did a February show one time and am thinking of doing another late January one this year. I am thinking of doing a few of the following...

baskets with bath bubbles, soap, lotion, scrubby, candle and chocolate with stamped designs on each. (these could be for a single person or for a couple )

I found a peppermint bath salt and milk bath recipe on line that you use red food coloring to make them red and white, so will add this to the basket above and make single batches that I will put in ziplock bags and plan to make some simple fabric bags to put them in with a pretty ribbon tie and stamped tag.

color your own valentine cards for kids

altered wooden blocks (that I will cut myself with bandsaw and all the scraps of wood I have from when I used to teach painted wood classes) that say LOVE, ADORE, etc (I will be using the Basic Grey Blush line and hopefully some new Valentine lines for this)

mini albums

chipboard coaster and matching mug with hot chocolate mixes

altered candles (like are seen in my gallery and on my blog in scents of strawberry shortcake, cranberry and vanilla)

altered jars for candy and goodies (also like I've posted on my blog)

and then just some address books, birthday books, nugget boxes, candy sliders etc.

Now to get busy doing all of this! LOL!! I will let you know how it went. and any new ideas I come up with.

Default Craft Fair Results

Ok...I've been lurking this season to get some great ideas for my craft fairs, so I wanted to post my results as well
All in all, I did 9 craft fairs between September and December.
Here's the total results:
Jumbo Paperclip bookmarks - sold 213
Small pebble magnets in pack of 6 - sold 129
Candle tins - only sold 23
Beaded RSVP pens - sold 98
Calendars on coasters - sold 50
Tooth fairy boxes - sold 24
Mini photo books made from badge holders - sold 44
mini comp book with beaded pen - sold 86
journals made from large comp books - sold 68
post it note holder made with 5x7 acrylic frames - sold 96
totes with 5 cards/envelopes - sold 54
DVD tin notebook - sold 79
target mailboxes with color me kit inside - sold 11
snowman soup - sold 52
candy jars made from frap bottles - sold 12
bath salts made from frap bottles - sold 17
folding albums - sold 50

Overall, i was very pleased, but know what to do differently next year

My question to those who did shows this year...does anyone want to "swap" leftovers to get some good ideas for next year?

Thanks for the inspiration,
Tiffany

My last and final for the season craft sale was a bust. I made about $20, which covered the cost of the table. My other two were good, making about $240 each. But this one I knew I wasn't going to do very well at, but I assumed I'd make a bit more than $20! Oh well.

And, if you are interested in mailboxes, our Target has them again for Valentine's Day (really can we get done with one holiday before moving on to the next???). Pink and red ones at our Target. In their dollar spot of course. Mary

As for what I'd do differently, I think the biggest is getting to know where the best craft fairs are around. I talked to several other vendors and that helped to know where they did the best at..and will book those next year. Also, I think I'll reserve 2 tables instead of one due to the fact that I had so many different items.
Here are the prices I charged...I think I can adjust some higher, but I was just starting out...

Jumbo Paperclip bookmarks - sold 213 $1
Small pebble magnets in pack of 6 - sold 129 $1
Candle tins - only sold 23 $3
Beaded RSVP pens - sold 98 $2
Calendars on coasters - sold 50 $2
Tooth fairy boxes - sold 24 $3
Mini photo books made from badge holders - sold 44 $3
mini comp book with beaded pen - sold 86 $3
journals made from large comp books - sold 68 $4
post it note holder made with 5x7 acrylic frames - sold 96 $5
totes with 5 cards/envelopes - sold 54 $5
DVD tin notebook - sold 79 $5
target mailboxes with color me kit inside - sold 11 $4
snowman soup - sold 52 $2
candy jars made from frap bottles - sold 12 $3
bath salts made from frap bottles - sold 17 $2
folding albums - sold 50 $3

I also had some frap jars from my hubby who drinks it all the time. I'm having him start saving them for me already for next year

Will try to post some pics later...

Thumbs up Craft Sale

I just did a booth at the end of November. My best seller were altered clipboards. They took me probably 15 minutes to make each one and I sold 12 of them for $10.00 each--they went so fast!

I also sold probably about 40 individual cards at $1.00 each--I tried selling them in packages, but they weren't selling so I put them out individually and they started selling faster. Thank You and Happy Birthday cards went the fastest

I also made about 75 jumbo paper clippies and sold them for $2.00 each. I had one lady buy 20 of them for place card holders at Thanksgiving and then to give as gifts. I think I sold probably 45 of them.

For my first booth--I think it went pretty well! I got several contacts from it and will be doing invitations for several baby showers and weddings in the next year or so.

Love the ideas posted here. I always wanted to try a craft show. I'm not good at handling money and making change. Handling money makes me nervous. Would have to have a friend go along for the experience.

Hi all,

I'm new here and have been scraping and into card making for about two years.

I also make handcrafted signs that I sell on Ebay and recently did a local holiday craft show.

I agree with another poster here that mentioned that it's important where and what kind of craft show it will be. It really does make a big difference where it is located.

I only did one show this year and the space cost me $75.00 and I brought home $535.00 (after the $75.00). In addition I made a few handmade Christmas ornaments and a few cards, but it was the signs where I made the money.

Hi Ann,

Yes I do haver some pictures of my signs but I'm still trying to navigate this site and when I tried to post a picture last night of my craft show set up I couldn't because I had to have at least three posts here! LOL! I will try again once I have enough posts later today.................... and even then I'm not exactly sure if I will do it correctly.

Oh as for my signs they are wooden primitive or shabby chic in style.

Thanks Ann!

I really should go and introduce myself over at the newbie thread which I will do later.........

OK I just tried once again to post some pictures and I don't know what I am doing wrong. The message that I get is that I need to post at least 3 times before I can post urls from other sites. (So far I do have 11 posts here) I'm not sure what that means. I am trying to post pictures of my signs that I have in photobucket.

Where would I go to find out what I am doing wrong?

Thanks so much!

Ann,

Thanks again!

I didn't realize how it worked and I suppose I should just start a gallery.

I'll do that after New Years!

Remember that members of the Splitcoast Fan Club DO get to upload on Sundays. Well worth the $25/year to support this wonderful site. Check it out from the SCS homepage.

I love primitive signs too and would love to see yours. I make them with scrap boards and paint them and then hand paint words, like:
faith,
love
joy
etc

need to figure out a way to stamp on them.
