Sarah, do you know which type of mini composition books are the 2 for $1? Is it the taller, thread bound ones or the shorter glue bound ones?

They are the small (4 1/2 x 3 1/4) glue bound.

Thanks Sarah! I am doing some of both, but haven't been able to find the larger mini composition books for less than 2 for 99 at Target.

I'm currently using the red-line super sticky tape by ProvoCraft that you can buy at Michaels. I'm wondering if there is something else I should be using?

Thanks!
I don't have an ATG gun either, the super sticky tape is available from Oriental Trading. It works just fine, i can't remember the price.

Are any of you doing the photo binder clips, and if so, how much are you selling them for?

This might be a stupid question, but I'm guessing you need a membership to buy online with costco or sams club, right?

I plan to sell my acrylic post it holders for $5 or $6...can't decide...
Our Walgreens has packs of the generic sticky notes, $5 for 12 pads. I have gotten them on sale a couple weeks now, for $3-$4 for 12 pads. They were 3x3 and 100 sheet pads.

Maybe we should all send a note to York, or is it nestles to tell them we are dissatisfied that the regular peppermint patties are no longer available.

Default photo clips

I have seen clips decorated so cute with ribbons and scalloped circles. How do you use them as clips with a scalloped circle on them? I think I saw some in kaitysmom's album.

Yes, but if you have ever had a Costco membership and still have a card you may be able to enter your member number and order. I let my membership lapse for a few years after we moved. However, I was still able to use their online photo services and have the photos shipped directly to my house. Don't know if it was a glitch in their system. I never tried to order anything other than photos during that time so not sure if it would have worked otherwise.

Wow! I had forgotten about those! Thanks for the reminder!

The scallop circles are only on the front metal piece on the binder clip so you can still use them for photos. Since I didn't really sell a lot of these, I ended up using them as teacher gifts and price card holders for my craft fairs - turned out cute! The teacher clips I put a little note card with my DD's pix on it and a gift card for end of year gifts - the teachers love them. I did add their name on the front of the binder clip after I took these pix

Here are a couple examples:

These were a lot of fun to make, but didn't sell well for me. I don't think I did a very good job of displaying them though and no one knew what to do with them!

How much did you try and sell them for? Just wondering...They do look fun to make. Like you, I figure anything I don't sell, I can use for teacher gifts...I have four kiddos so we have a lot of teachers!

I sold my binder clips for $1.50 each. I want to say I made about 15 of them. I ended up with about three left over. When I displayed them, I put a piece (about biz card size) of paper in them with "Place Photo Here" or something like that on them. I only put this "sign" on some of them and when they were purchased, I removed them and placed them on another clip. Most of mine were holiday themed and school themed. Those sold first compared to the generic flower ones.

Default binder clips

So you don't flip the handles down and use them as clips? You use them to stand and hold a picture or something? I know they are often used as place card holders.
I thought for photoclips, you would want to use them as clips to hold several pictures. The scallop would then be in the way.

I do love how you decorated yours. They are so cute.

Default ideas please

I have been asked to set up a booth at our county fair Labor day weekend. I am really excited to have the opportunity to show and sell all of the fab ideas that I have gotten from everyone here. THANK YOU ALL!!!

I usually sell alot of candy and baked goods at the craft fairs as well as my jams/jellies etc. but since this is such an early fair and it is still VERY hot here, I cannot sell my candy and fudge. Besides, I have never participated in a county fair before, just craft fairs.

Does anyone have any ideas for good foodies that I can make and sell?

Thanks for all your help
Debbie

For the county fair--
I saw some really cute little cookies made out of Nutterbutter cookies, dipped and decorated to look like flip flops. I guess the heat might be a problem with these???

I think that's a great idea. I do love PP patties, but I really only buy them to do crafty things with them. Now, I won't buy them. I saw on another thread on this site where people did contact the company about the packaging. It kind of makes sense that they changed it - because sometimes they were kind of open with the old packaging, but I think they still could keep them fresh and keep them round (really just my opinion but if we can put a man on the moon, we can make patties round!). I just hope I can find all the ones I want when I want them.

These are really nice. Do you print your own calendars, if so, what size? Are they from Cat's calendars?

Ok, dumb question, but they're not round any more? I thought just the packaging changed.

The actual patties are still round, I believe, but the packaging is now square - making it very hard to decorate and sell now as the round santa faces, snowman faces, turkeys, or scallop circles, etc.

So now most of us are buying generic peppermint patties that are still wrapped in round packaging, and use those. I still like how York tastes the best though, so it's a bummer!

I do agree on the better taste of 'York'. I bought some last week, and the only brand here that's packaged appropriately is "Pearsons".

I get them from SkyBluePink...they seemed to have the best prices when I was looking last year. I use the large one on the 3.5x3.5 coasters.

HTH!

Hi Ladies,
I have several craft fairs coming up, and I wanted to make some cards to sell. I figured this is the right place to come for help! What kind of cards do you make, and how much do you sell them for. Thanks for your help!

Hi Laura,

I tend to have different price points. I have cards for $1, $2, $3 and $4 each.

I have birthday cards that are appropriate for both genders, each gender, and also some that focus on kids or adults. Thank you cards, get well/sympathy cards and thinking of you cards do well also. Friendship cards too!

Depending on when your shows are, if they are close to a particular holiday, then I would have cards for that occasion as well.
