after posting the above post. i noticed it does have the edit option. it maybe just for a short amount of time.
.... so you could quote your own earlier post and do the correction.

Right on!
The edit button sticks around for either 10 or 15 minutes ... basically for typo corrections, or adding info for a brief period. (BST forum edit buttons remain on for additions/updates.)

I too am planning to do a fair this year...so thanks for this thread! Well I thought about doing one last year too just that the thought came to my mind in Nov

I've made a list of items that I want to do and I'm going to apply for 2-3 craft fairs. Hopefully some of them will select me . The more established craft fairs are very expensive here - around $100 a table! So I'll probably go for the smaller ones - they're around $40-$50. It's hard to imagine that I can make even that much profit so I'm telling myself it's all for fun and for the joy of creating Just that it worries me what'll I do with all the inventory if things don't sell! Maybe I'm jumping far ahead...

What do people use the altered composition books for? If I know what they'll be used for I can decorate them better.

I'm so excited!!! All the best to everybody doing craft shows this year!

Has anyone seen any good prices on the mini gel-pens or Post-it notes this week?

Pat
Hi Pat. I found these at the Dollar Tree today. They were each $1 (duh! ). The post-its only have 40 sheets, so I was thinking of doubling them up. They came in 4-packs of yellow, and a pack with two yellow, a light blue, and a pink. The pens came in these two color combos to go with some stationery they had. I figured I could make something up to match. Haven't found any neutral ones yet.

I like your idea of filling up space with gift bags. What did you charge for them? Our school is having a craft fair for the first time this year. I thought it might be a good way to test the waters. The fee is $50, and I feel like if I don't make that back, at least the money goes to our school!

Also, what do you ladies charge for your post-it note holders - both with and without the acrylic base? Thanks!!

P.S. Pat - I met you at the SBS in NC last month! I hope you weren't too overwhelmed with our crazy group!

Good luck...and as I was looking at the picture, I guess it's not really clear, but these are mini-pens...They are about 3 1/4 inch long.

you guys are the best! You answer questions and are so helpful. Thanks for the Oriental Trading suggestion.
I feel like a lot of you sound. There are so many ideas swimming in my head to this year. I vowed not to over load with supplies and I am trying to use up as much as I can from last year.
I've started on a lot of things but have not finished anything!
At least I have started, though.

Hi Sarah,
My DT had the matching File Folders and sticky notes and flags! I made the notepad folios and then put the sticky notes and two of the four "flags" on the outside of the pocket.
I took them into work to ask my friend who is an avid craft fair goer, if she thought $5 was too much and she bought 6 of them and wants 5 more! whoo hooo
I love the design on these folders and really don't want to add any embellishments to take away from the design. Thoughts, anyone?
Thanks for looking!

Sharon

Hi,
Thank you. Yes I did. I did have to cut off a little bit on both sides of the folder and I think it was another inch or so off of the left hand side so that it would close properly under the flap. Does that make sense? I used this extra piece to cover the top of the notepad. I also used my corner chomper to round the outside corners of the pockets. I think it just gives it more of a finished look.

Sharon

Oh thanks...I used the tutorial last night and had to cut about an extra inch off and thought I had mismeasured, glad to hear that I didn't! Will have to do the chopper thing on my next one, sounds like a nice added touch to finish it off with!

Hi Sarah,

Thanks for the info on the stuff at DT. I may have to try some of the notepad folios like Sharon made. They were so cute!

I sold the gift bags for $2 each. I did not have a lot of cost in them, but I can't remember the exact cost. I will look and see if I have any pictures of them.

Of course I remember you! I had a great time at the SBS and there were some great cards there.

Pat

I bought those same pens several weeks ago and was THRILLED since they work so perfectly with a tutorial I found from Dawn on YouTube (dawn5377) on post-it holders! I am going back for more

I found the best deal on post-its was at Wal-Mart...a 4 pack of full pads for very cheap, can't remember the exact price but it was cheap. They were off brand but the quality is the same as far as I can tell.

I plan to sell my acrylic post it holders for $5 or $6...can't decide...

If you have a Dollar Tree near you, they had a pack with 2 pads (100 sheets/pad) for $1... made them $/50/ea and they were from 3M...a pretty good brand. There was a white pad & really pretty blue pad together inthe pack...they may have other colors, but that was all they had when I cleaned them out.

For those looking to buy sticky notes, Costco and Sam's club have them online $4 for a pack of 12 and 100 sheets per pad. They're not post-it brand though. Shipping is *included* in that price.

I love the design on these folders and really don't want to add any embellishments to take away from the design. Thoughts, anyone?
Thanks for looking!

Staples had the assorted pack of RSVP pens for $1 today. Also, mini comp books 2/pk for 50 cents, mini notepads 3 pk for $1. There is a limit of two, but I know everyone has their ways of getting around that. I am on their email list and there is also a coupon this week for 20% entire purchase of school and office supplies.
