We bought them out (they thought we were a little wacky, LOL!) and will be going to another Walgreens to buy THEM out. We need several hundred to last us a year.

I hope others who are looking for them can find them as well!
Thanks for the tip Nikki! I just bought three 12 packs from Staples for $5 thinking I was getting a good deal. They are all light yellow though... I'm thinking I like your deal better, lol

They are only on sale until tonight, if you want any more! I might go to Staples and get 1 pack for $5 because I need more yellows. But I'm loving the pink and blue too because we are doing pink sets, purple sets, blue sets and yellow sets - so the colors are perfect. I think the green I will have to figure out...probably whip up a green set too.

These the regular price on the pack is $5 so if anyone misses the sale you can still get them for a good deal.

Oh I was also going to let you know that Walgreens has packs of 30 mechanical pencils for $1 - I'm going to add them to my shopping list pads. Can't beat that price! It makes them 3 cents a piece!

For those of you altering the composition notebooks, what type of adhesive are you using? I don't have an ATG, so if that is what you are using - you are of no help, lol

I'm currently using the red-line super sticky tape by ProvoCraft that you can buy at Michaels. I'm wondering if there is something else I should be using?

Thanks!

I am using mostly score tape and the red line tape on the spine.

Is score tape like the Scotch foam mounting tape? I guess my real question is does it add dimension or does it allow the paper to adhere flat against the book? I hope I'm making sense!

What I use is redline tape, and it lays flat to the book.

Scor tape is thin and very strong and comes in all differant width. It does not add demension. I am not home right now but I think mine is 1 1/2 in wide that I am using on the comp books and the red line I use on the spine is 1 inch wide.

I love the score tape because you can tear it, no scissors needed. Also the part you peel off doesn't stick to you like the film on the red line tape. I think it is quicker and easier to work with and holds just as strong as the red line. It made covering the comp books go faster for me.

It would be sent to me, I am certain that I can send them to each of you for around $.83 so the total would be $15.23. Please let me know if I should add you to the list- if yes I will need your first name.

Thanks

I've got another question for those of you that alter the Composition Books. I think the inside covers are ugly - do you cover those too or leave them be. I don't think I would buy one if the inside was left as is, but maybe I'm just being picky?

Thanks again

I am just as picky and always cover the inside cover. I just think it gives it a better "finished" look.

Nikki,
Thanks so much for the tip on the sticky notes at Walgreens. I was gone all day, but happened to look at this post about 8:30pm. I called my store, but they were out of the sticky notes, but they had the 19cent mini comp books. You are right, the sale ends today. BUT, I went into the store and asked for a rain check. The mgr. gave it to me, so we will see if they get them in on Thursday. She put 4 packages down on the rain check, but I did not see a limit on the add.

I cover the inside covers too. Since I like to wrap the outer cover paper over the sides and around to the inside I have to cover the inside covers. I think this makes it look more finished like a real book/journal. Then I stamp the inside cover with This Book Belongs To:, and attach the ribbon book mark on the inside back cover before covering the inside back. I just think these little extra details will make them look like a more finished journal and less like a comp book and better for gift giving and hopefully make them sell better.

I do the insides too, some people like the information on the inside, but I like the finished look of covering it!

I guess I'm in the minority here. I do not cover the inside covers. I took a little poll among family and friends and coworkers and it didn't seem to make a difference to any of them if the inside was covered or not. A few actually even said that they would prefer it just how it is. I dunno, but I went with it. Maybe my test group was lame and maybe I should open the packaging and cover the insides . . .

I cover the inside of mine, but if I was making them for a school aged person, I wouldn't.

Well.....craft show was yesterday, and if you remember, my hopes weren't too high. We ended up making back the table costs, plus probably enough to cover our breakfasts, lunches, and gas for the trip. Oh, yeah, and my DD wanted to play at the festival...so we may have broken even. Overall, I think it was a great practice for our setup, and we learned some info for upcoming bigger shows. It was an interesting crowd. Things that I thought would be a huge hit weren't even glanced twice at. Things I didn't think would sell, did--sort of. Here's the breakdown...

Small notebooks with rsvp pens--4
pebble magnets, set of 4--4
tile magnets--2, plus one set of 4
large notebooks with pens--2
single coaster-1
beaded pen-1
wooden signs--2
paperclip bookmarks, medium size--2
tic tac toe tile game-1
post it with mini pen-1

As you can see, not a big day. Everyone even started packing up an hour early (which I know is a big no-no) and by the actual end time we were the last ones to leave. The guy who runs it said most people are there for the other festival activities and that they have a bigger show in November for Christmas. He invited us back, and we got invited to the county fair by another organization, but I'm not sure we'll go to either. We may stick to our bigger shows. We'll see. Pictures to come of my setup!

Hope your show goes great today and you don't even get a chance to open the laptop with all your sales!!

Not real detailed, but the box is what these are sitting in. I will probably try something similar with the patties. You do have to make sure you tie the bag snugly so there is not much room for things to slip around.
Hope this helps.

Default pictures of set up

I love the peg board! It made displaying things easier than putting them in baskets or flat on the table.
