This one is by Jan Tink. It uses a 12" x 36" frame (I believe she got the frames at Walmart). I made one similiar to it using an 12" x 15" frame. Winter Post is on sale right now along with the die. I made them a few years ago for family and friends for Christmas gifts.

Default New Tea Bag gifts

I am sharing my new tea bag holders I made for this past weekend. I sold them $2 each or 3/$5.

I have been wanting to make one for a while, then Kerry's papercrafts posted her design for this year. It looked simple, so I modified it a bit and came up with my own design:

What size oval fits inside the oval scallop punch?

Any tips on which oval size to get first if you could only buy one?

I see sizes for the large and x-large oval punches but no size listed for the oval scallop.
Thanks!
The large oval (the skinnier one) fits inside the scallop oval punch. I have all three, but I use the x-large oval most often lately, it's a good size for punching out sentiments or smaller images.

OK..soo...
The large oval fits inside the scallop oval?
And the extra large oval is best for sentiment punching?
How am I supposed to pick??

Do you use the scallop one often? Maybe I could do without the scallop for now.

I would totally recommend getting the Spellbinders Nestibilities - you will have ovals and oval scallops of every size imaginable!

True..but I was looking for a punch to quickly punch out sentiments printed from the computer without having to line it up on my BigShot.
It sounds like I shuld go with the extra large size for that.

I really need to use my BigShot more though.

sorry no pictures, but to answer your questions, yes and yes!
Peace frame....a 5x12 frame from Walmart. Peace die cut down the center...dsp or stamped paper behind it.
Jingle frame...8x8 shadowbox, DE on the glass and paper, snowflakes and jingle bells on ribbon behind it.

Wow, that one is really nice! Mine is smaller, the $3 frame at Walmart...the die strip down the center, matted and then contrasting paper or designer paper in the background. I market them as the "grab bag" gift or the "gift for those people you don't know what to get them", LOL

Thanks Wendy and Tat2Girl - I had seen Jan's and T2G I think I saw yours too somewhere (maybe in the gallery in a search?) but then couldn't find it. I did order that die (on clearance) but I didn't get the Winter Post (extravaganza deal right now) and am kicking myself - went back and forth on that. Well maybe another order is in line. hmmm But I just love those frames that I've seen with the die on it. I think I like 3-D papercrafting better than card making - I've always been a 3-D kind of kid/gal.

Have a nice turkey day everyone (assuming you eat/celebrate turkeys!).

Craftyjeannie,
I wonder if it's the "Stampin Up" sign. If I was at the show I would think you were selling Stampin up materials. The items on your table people may feel like your just selling the ideas and they can purchase the materials from you. I sometimes stay away from a table that says that because I don't want to purchase Stampin up punches etc. and I don't want to have a party. Just a thought.

Do you happen to know if Copics work on these, would you bake them with Copics on them or just spray set them? Thanks for any information!

Hi everyone!
I just wanted to share an image of a toy soldier I got online. He is in jpeg format so you can put it in your photo software and edit it. I did and made toy soldier chocolates kind of like the snowmen! I hope you enjoy him.

HI! I don't know about Copics and if they work or not. I have heard that Copics mixed with StazOn could cause bleeding. Here's a question I would have for you. Are Copics permanent markers (like Sharpie is a permanent marker and StazOn if Perm. ink). If so, that's good - because that's what you want on tiles. Next question would be, when you use Copics on tile, does it dry almost immediately or is it "wet" for awhile? If it's wet for a while (like SU CRAFT ink is) then you DO need to bake it. If it is NOT wet and dries quickly on tile - then you don't have to bake it (but baking it won't hurt it - could only help it to set the color in) and either way, I would recommend the acrylic sealer.

Some people stamp their tiles with StazOn ink and do not bake and do not seal and swear by it. I have found that baking and sealing really, truly sets the colors all in.

I do not think there is a RED out there (StazOn, SU Craft, etc.) that is good on tiles and many RED inks can/will run/bleed.

Hope this helps.

Okay those snowman and angel wrapped chocolate bars that gave me so much pleasure to make are a big bust for me. I made 6 dozen and I probably have more than half left. My family will benefit from lots of chocolate this year. LOL. What is selling are my christmas cards (6 for 10.00) and my regular cards. I am so depleted I will have to work extra hard to make more for my final sale next weekend. Which is great because my main goal is to sell regular cards throughout the year. I made 93.00 last night in 3 hours and today is the second day.

I used it last month and did 50 snowman wrappers, now I went out and bought 20 boxes of theater candy I want to cover for charity sale. Any help would be much appreciated. Is everyone done with their craft shows? Of so, how would you rate your season? Best seller? Worst seller? Find anything new at the shows?

For me, my sales were good but down from previous years. I think I need a new "wow" project. One that will make me excited to do it. I am going to try very hard to come up with something. I have given up on wrapping nuggets. Every year I do them a different way and every year I sell few if any. I really don't think people know what they are. I will continue with my snowman shots. They did well for me.

I just finished day 1 of a 2 day show and had very good sales again. I have my last show next weekend. (have 8 days total for my "season").

Best sellers I guess would be the things I have run out of already:
-M&M stix (made 305 total)
-dog bones (made 62)
-lip gloss snowmen (made 50)
-chocolate bar snowmen (made 265)

Hope others are doing well.

I have my snowman and angel chocolate bar wrappers priced at 2.50 I have a one day sale next friday and plan on lowering the price to $2.00 just to get rid of the last 3 dozen. There were not many people showing up today at the sale. I still did 60.00 but it was a long day. I have to replenish my regular cards for next weekend. I also did not sell well on the reindeer poop and sold only one glass ornament. I am not loosing any money but I don't want to be stuck with leftovers.

I sell my bars for $2. And my M&M stix for $1. They are good prie points and I still make profit.

Have a pic of your angel bars? I would love to see what they look like.

I finished up early this year and sales were a bit lower than last year--alot lower for my last show, but then I tried some different things and while a few sold they just weren't what most people were looking for. What really did sell that amazed me was some felt items I threw together the last couple weeks before the show!! I was able to buy some wool blend felt and people just loved it!! Also over all I sold almost 100 bars of my soap so very pleased there.

I did notice one thing in my area and that was that the crowds were very very slim. I say its the ecomony and so many job cuts but maybe people were just saving their money so they could go get beat up on Black Friday!!

Default Need Santa Packet Help

So I found letters to Santa at Michaels. It includes letter, envelope and pencil. Don't know what to do with these because they are cute already and cost $1. But I decided I could make a Santa Kit that would include these letter, a reindeer bag (oatmeal and sprinkles), a cocoa for Santa. Is there anything else you would include and how would you package? Any ideas are greatly appreciated. I have two more shows to go in December. Thanks, Maria

I had my only show this weekend and it went great! I sold all but 2 of my Post It holders with pens the first night and had to make a dozen more when I got home so I could have some for day 2. I sold all of them before noon. Another big seller was the gift card holders that look like a present. The snowman and toy soldier chocolate bars were a hit and I have an order for more. I had my advent calendars that I showed you all earlier, and sold 10 of them at $25 each or 2/$40. People really liked the idea that you can put anything small in it. I sold a few to people whose kids have allergies and can't have those chocolate ones they sell in the store. I live in a small town and it was a big sale for us but small in relation to one in a big city so I was excited when I counted up at the end of yesterday to find I had made $575. This covered all of my costs for the year and then some and I still have some thing left over that I can sell to friends and co-workers which will all be straight profit!

Those are just too precious for words!
Now of course I need to ask you for the pattern.
