Beth - those MM sticks are so cute! I'm stealing the idea (well I was going to make them anyway but I love the sunflower look so that's what I'm stealing). I bought some candy yesterday, but, umm, somehow I opened the bag and started eating. Oh well, I will buy more (or stop eating them!).
I normally push them into the wax a little bit while the candle is still warm/melted.
Hmm I should've waited to get a reply . I was having so much fun doing it that I completed all five of the candles . Maybe I'll heat them a little bit again and push the stones. I don't know if glue will hold on to wax for long.
I had asked this on the last thread but only had one response so I'm trying again on the new thread
I need ideas on how to attach velcro to the mini portfolios made from file folders (or of another way to keep them closed). The velcro pieces end up detaching when the folder is opened, and I'm not sure which adhesive would be best to make sure they stay down.
The velcro is self-adhesive, but I've also tried Scor Tape (that completely covers the velcro) and hot glue. Both end up not sticking after awhile. Maybe I need to do something like magnetic closures, but I'm afraid that I'll have the same problem with them not staying attached.
Would really appreciate any help because these are really cute, and I have about 15 made but can't sell them if they keep coming undone. Thanks!!
(Also...did you know that you can subscribe to the thread by clicking on "Thread Tools" at the top? That way you don't have to post to subscribe
I use Gorilla Glue on my File Folder Notebook velcro and it holds great!
Hey guys, I am looking for chocolate eyeballs like these: Eyeball candy bags by scrapaholicbond26 - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers. Has anyone seen them anywhere? I have looked at Dollar Tree, Walgreen's & Wal-Mart and they do not have them. Dollar Tree had gumball eyes in cellophane wrappers, but I really wanted the chocolate foil ones. TIA!

I got my little calendars in the mail today so I'm going to start that project this afternoon. I already have the coasters covered so I just have to add the calendar and embellish. I'll add magnet strip to the back of them as well. Its nice to start another project other than journals and sticks! lol
I sure hope that you are talking about the same project that I am looking for. I received my calendaars too, but lost the original thread and picture of the project. It sounds like you are working on what I am looking for Can you point me in the right direction please?
Was just wondering if any of you have made/sold any at your shows and how they went? I've been making then as thank you gifts for Etsy...but I don't have any pics of the ones I've made. Very easy to just load them up with some scraps of paper for writing. It's also a great way to use up scraps for the structure of the matchbook. Anyway...just wondering.

Those are such a great idea! I've not done them before for the stall but will be having a go now!
can anyone tell me the dimensions for the Matchbook notepads ? or point me to template? Thanks
I found some bridal notepad favors in the clearance section at the Factory Card Outlet for $1 (10 in a pack - JACKPOT!) and am just going to cover the front piece that has two hearts on it, package them up all pretty, add a mini gel pen and put them out for sale. not sure of the price yet.
If you send me your e-mail address I will send you a template of the one I took apart.

Bright neon, package of 5 - $1.00 (they were originally with school supplies, but moved to office supplies and shelf price said $5+, try scanning to see if they come up cheaper.)
Pastels, package of 6 - $1.00
Now....let's get them free
I found this coupon on slickdeals.net - but to save you time in searching for the pdf, see attached. My Walmart accepted the coupon on the pastel pack even though it wasn't the Super Sticky notepads. I did have one cashier who wouldn't let me use one coupon, I had several cashiers allow me to use five. I am embarrassed to say how many packs I have now

I've made about 60 of this little guys today and finally had time to take a few pics...
Matchbook note pads...15 sheets of paper each. I cut the paper (24lb text wt. 5 at a time) 3 1/4" x 2 3/4". I cut the DSP at 7 1/4" x 3" and scored at 1" and 4 1/2". I staped the sheets in the matchbook and added ribbon for a quick and cute way to hide the staple.
I do about the same, 10-12 for $1. It took me forever to do my bunches of tags, and it seems like a lot of work for not a lot of money. But I tried to make them as simple, but still cute.
Thanks for the suggestions. My friends are telling me $0.50 each or 3 for $1. Wow.
I cut all my pieces out on my Cricut. I don't have punches. I made 50 of the little ones and about 30 of the larger ones. They went together pretty quickly, plus it helped that I am slow at my job right now, so I brought them to work and glued them together during the day.
For those of you that make up the nugget tins, do you cover the bottom layer of nuggets with designer paper too or just the top layer?
I take a 1"x3" piece of designer paper and wrap it completely around the nugget. I only place 12 nuggets in a tin. Don't think you can get more than that in there...at least not the tins that I use.
Here is a pix of one from last year....I didn't put them on my list for my craft shows this year, But I still will make a few for neighbors and "unexpected guests bearing gifts"
HTH?

Cute projects posted on this page! Way to go ladies!
I signed up for a second craft fair yesterday. This one will be October 16th. The lady on the phone told me that I'm the only paper crafter signed up so I guess that's a good thing! I have about $550 in inventory right now and I'm still going. I think I'll add some Halloween themed M&M sticks to the inventory to see how they go. I can always change out the tags to Christmas ones for the second fair on November 13th.
My plan this weekend is to get my price sign holders painted so hopefully I can stick to that. They turned out pretty good so far! Also hoping to get quite a few more things made.
Location: Just north of Whoville in Guelph, Ontario!

So you wrapped all 12 nuggets not just the top six? Thanks! Did they sell ok for you last year? And what did you charge for them?

I think what sells just depends on the area you are in, and even then, it can vary from fair to fair in the same town.
I did about 6 shows last fall leading up to Christmas. The nuggets did not sell well at all. They were quite a lot like the ones pictured, really cute. Everyone picked them up and said how cute they were, and then didn't buy them.
I ended up putting most of what I made in Christmas gift baskets for friends and family.
However, I also had a bunch of sets of decorated peppermint patty packs. They completely sold out! Go figure.
