Thank you! I LOVE my butterfly bush! My hubby keeps trying to cut it down! Our neighbor just cut down a pine tree that had to be at least 40 years old, so there seems to be more birds around. (He is planning to cut two more down) We actually have three hummingbird feeders, so perhaps that is why they arent fighting at this one? We had a young woodpecker visit the other day but her just hopped around the branches and didn't stay long. We have a number of other types of feeders, including a window feeder, which the kids and the cats enjoy watching. We used to have problems with squirrels chewing our feeders, until we bit the bullet and put a feeder up for them as well.

I wanted to ask if anyone has a list of the crafts suggested in this thread. I'm curious as to what the best sellers are (because I'm working on getting stuff ready for my first craft show) and I really don't have time to read through the entire thread.

Thanks!

Walgreen's has M&M's 4/$10.00 (must buy 4) and then you get a $5.00 rewards coupon to spend on another purchase. They had the big Tic Tacs on clearance, so I used the $5.00 to buy the Tic Tacs. The Tic Tacs are for 'Snowman Kisses' and the M&M's are for a 50th Anniversary party and M&M tubes.

If you use the $5.00 coupon to buy more M&M's, they will be 4/$10.00, minus the $5.00 coupon, but you will not get another $5.00 off coupon for the second set of M&M's. So it ends up 8 bags of M&M's for $15.00.

How do I find Rubberstampingdiva's site? I'm interested in the Christmas planner? Also, do I just search for the listed ideas to find out about them? I've been a member on the site for a while, but haven't really delved into it yet. It's confusing and overwhelming, but oh, so intriguing! Thanks!

I dont have luck searching things on SCS, however, when I do a search in Google, SCS often comes up. Then I can click it and it takes me right to the thread!

I posted Rubberstampingdiva's blog above. There are a lot of errors, but it's there.

I have the same problem, it says something about time zones!

Seems like a great site, saw a couple of pictures! Would love to see the complete blog.

I am wondering if her site comes up like that due to it having the translate feature. It seems like a lot of the errors say Dont trust time Zone errors?

She could be using an old blog template perhaps...sometimes I see errors or warnings on other sites similar to that one...

Anywho...Here are some of the clips I have been working on...these are the magnet type that can hold a photo on the fridge, etc...

That's an awesome list! Thanks so much for taking the time to post this for me. I'm going to save this list so that I can refer back to it later. I'll have to google some of these so see what they are. I've been stamping for over 7 years now, but I rarley make anything other than a card.

You're welcome. If you can't find something you're interested in or curious about just ask it here. I'm sure plenty of us already have a link saved or can direct you to a youtube video.

Have FUN!!! Can't wait to see what you make 'cause your cards are always fabulous!!

Hi Everyone,
Here's the direct link to the page:
Christmas in July RubberStampingDiva.com
You have to scroll down quite a bit, but it's there, it called Christmas in July.

Also, if you go to her Winter Holiday tab, she has a ton of cute ideas with the triangle box, amongst other things. Check out the star made with candy canes - WOW!

Have fun - once you get past all the warnings.

Sharon

Actually, the price is .40 cents for a 5 pack. That's .08 cents each! I just ordered 60 packs (300 books) to be picked up at my local WalMart.

Yippee!

Oh My Gosh!! I will have to rent a storage building. I ordered 50, thinking I was getting 50 books. A 5-pack means I bought 250 books! Yikes.

It's an amazing deal, thanks for sharing it. The funny thing is that I finally caved in and bought 40 books at the nearest WalMart today for .40 cents each. I will definitely be bringing those back...

from another thread:

"Well I have bad news for all of you ...... I just picked my books up and it is NOT a pack of 5 for .40!!!!!!

It is .40 each and you must buy at least 5. I just drove out of town to get mine and and found all of this out. I tried talking to them at customer service at the Wal Mart store that I bought them from and they said it meant must buy 5. I tried telling them that it should NOT have said a pack of 5 then, but they told me I would have take the problem online then.

I don't know. Here is the actual language from the website about the product:

"The wide ruled 100-sheet Colored Marble Composition Book Assortment, in a pack of five, features five assorted colors."

I guess I will find out when I go to the store later to pick mine up.

I printed the page from the website out to bring with me, before they change it...

ItemQtyPrice
Colored Marble Composition Book Assortment, Wide Ruled, 100 Sheet, 5pc
1$0.40.Subtotal:$0.40.

They better hurry up and fix it or change it, because it definately says 5pc for .40. It does not say 40cents EACH.

But didn't you pay for them online? If you did then all you have to do is show them your online receipt and pick them up. They have no control over the price. It ships direct from the online place to the store. Right?

Or can you buy stuff, have it sent to the store and pay for it there? I have never done that. I always pay online and then go to customer service, show them my receipt, and pick up my package. They don't even open the box or anything. But I do. I open the box in front of them to make sure it's correct before I leave so I have a witness if something is not right.

If the store you went to will not sell them to you the way it is presented. Then I would go back online. Order and pay for them online. Have them sent to a different store and pick them up there with your receipt. They should just hand over the package(s) no question asked.

I think they may actually pick the items off the shelf to fulfill the online order. When I went to checkout it said I could pick my order up in 4 hours. I don't think it could be shipped from somewhere else that quick. I would just be very nice but firm that it says 5 for 40 cents. I hope I do not have to argue when I pick up my order.

They better hurry up and fix it or change it, because it definately says 5pc for .40. It does not say 40cents EACH.

To my knowledge, only one person has picked them up from the store (Evalou). When she received the notice to pick up her items at the store (she had pre-paid, I believe), it said that the qty. that she would be getting was 20 books, not "packs". The person at the customer service desk said that they could only give her what the computer told them to, which was 20 books. They told her that they saw how it was deceiving, but they couldn't do anything about it and they told her to contact WalMart online via email. She has sent an email out to them. It will be interesting to see what other people have when they go to the store to pick up theirs...

OH, lol -du. Four hours would be very fast delivery. Yes, I'm sure they pull(ed) them off the shelf. I've never ordered anything that was ready that fast. I went all the way thru the whole checkout process and they are instore pick up only. No home delivery.

The store has themselves covered because it says: price may vary per store.

Which I'm sure was the whole evil corporate plan to begin with. Sadly, some PR moguel knew exactly what they were doing - probably. That's just the world we live in. Get the suckers in the store anyway you can. They might not end up buying the whole 150 books they ordered, but they might buy 30 or 40 just because they are already there and don't want the trip to be a total waste of time and money.

What about the person who ordered 300. Wonder if she paid online? I'm assuming she's not going to buy 300 at 40 cents each. How will she get her refund?

If the store I'm picking mine up pulls that on me, it will really tick me off. Wal-Mart has already struck out with me. This will be the frosting on the cake.

Btw, if you paid using PayPal, you might want to report this to them. I know I will.

Someone was asking about best-selling items. I try to offer a variety, but consistent best sellers are altered/decorated food items. I sold a ton of the peppermint patties last year. I am not making them this year though - they are time suckers in prep. Can people share what adhesive they use to stick the paper on the foil? I found the cost of adhesive was quite high. I factor in everything in my costs.

Also, gum covers went quite well. I bought the blister packs of gum, and made a cover of cardstock, then matted cute stickers on the front - with glitter for decorating. Sold them for $2 each..they cost about 60 cents each to buy at Costco. Not a high profit margin but fairly easy to make - and they draw people to my table.

I have a dollar store near me that has brand name glue dots, 300 in a pack, for $1.00. I plan to use that for my patties. Can I ask what size scallop punch you use? I bought the Pearson mints at Walgreeen's. I have a 2" scallop circle and a 1 1/2" scallop circle. I think maybe the 1 3/4" is the size I need. I do not want to open the package until closer to the fair so it will stay fresh. But I wanted to make the covers now. Thanks for your help.

I am making the M&M tubes because I had open bags of candy from filling party favors for a 50th Anniversary party. Do you sell those? Do they sell well? Do they stay fresh very long? If not I will just give them to our teachers for a welcome back to school gift. I made 23 from the leftover candies.

PS:What is a blister pack of gum?

For adhesive on the patties, I used to use the tombow tape but now I use the tombow mono multi glue. Takes a few seconds for it to stick/dry but it stays put. A bottle of that goes a long ways. SU sells it now but I buy it on line through Discount Office Supplies when I buy a bulk of the tape. Its about $2 a bottle - I use it for cards too cause it really sticks and I have some 'play' time because I ALWAYS put things on crooked!

I ordered them online too and I was sent a refund thismorning.

I guess .40 cents each is the best price I'm going to find, but I was at Target today and they had them there for .40 cents as well.

BTW- for those of you hoping to get the composition books for .40 cents a pack...you might get them. It depends on your Walmart store, but on the fatwallet.com forums I read that some people are getting them.
