Yeah...enjoyed the rest of the day...went skating for the afternoon and brought my cards with me. I made more money at the beach then I did at the farmers market.

So glad you loved the quote...always makes me laugh too. Oh if you could see my craft studio now...what a piggy mess it is. Anybody have an OCD fairy they can share for a day to clean it up?

I checked Target today and they had them for .50 each!
BUT - when I opened one, it was really flimsy and kinda gray colored! Maybe I was looking at the wrong area? I'll keep you posted if I find them anywhere else!

I hope they didn't go down in quality . Mine aren't really flimsy, but they are not unbendable (like wood), either. They do have a little give. The paper backing will add a little more stability, too.

Just wondering if anyone would know if the frames on the following link are similar to the frames used by Kerry from Kerrys paper crafts for the post it note frames ?

Walmart.com: Bent Acrylic Plastic Picture Frame, Set of 20: Decor

Hi Anne:

Yes, those would work. Not sure which size she uses the most, but I have seen them made with either.

Thanks Maria. They are a great price. I looked up her site. She uses 3.5 x5 and also 4 x 6. I will make use of the remaining sizes and maybe make calendar holders or a combination of post its and calendar for large frames.
One of the reviews said that some of the frames are flat. Hoping it is not the 3.5 x 5 or 3 x 6

Why don't you just buy the set of 12 frames in the 4x6 size? It is only $12.00. The $14.88 set will only give you 10 frames in the size you want for post-it note holders.

Happy Summer!

Here is a link for the frames in 4x6 (probably come in portrait and landscape) and 3.5x5 (portrait and landscape):

I'm (obviously) not Judi, but I can answer your question. Yes, you can buy them in the store. At mine they are fifty cents and a dollar depending on the size.

I made a couple with calendars last year for Christmas presents with a sewing theme and they are super cute and well received.

You can use any size for the acrylic post-it note holder frames, you don't have to use just 3" x 5" and 4" x 6".

AOK, if you find some that will ship to the UK, would you mind passing the link on? I found some on Ebay, but they were really expensive and worked out to be about 4.50 each!!

TIA

Hi Sarah,
No I will be in the US this week and hoping to squeese a couple of packets of these into my already overloaded suitcase. If I manage to get to Walmarts, I'll get a packet for you and post on when I get home. If you are a crazy craft fair vendor like me and follow all the ideas on this forum you'll want to try these.

Ok Sarah, will do. To be honest the case it looking pretty cramped already. I will have to wear all my clothes home in layers as the bags will be so full of crafting goodies. I ordered 250 of the plastic tubes and corks but hit the button by mistake twice. Can you picture me trying to explain the to the customs control on the return that all the the tubes and cork stoppers are for making packets of reindeer food.

When people do this at my booth, I go out infront like I am going to organize or restock- kind of move your way over to them, and say excuse me and fuss with stuff on your table- that usually gets them moving- or at least over to another table.

I found some on BJs.com. They are heavy and completely clear, and I believe they were about $0.49. And they were free shipping!!! Only problem?? They are about 12 1/4" long, and paper is only 12" long!!!!!!!! I made it work I think. I had the paper go along the 12" part and then filled in with a solid color. I only made one so far, so I'll see how it turns out when it's all finished. My other problem with the Target ones was that they had the 3 holes like to put in a 3 ring binder. I dont think they look as nice, but maybe that's just me.

We R Memory Keepers makes the large eyelets. Here is a link. I have some that I bought from a LSS, but I am scared to try to add them to a ruler - I'm afraid I will break the ruler.

Be sure to watch the clearance sections when shopping for school supplies. I found Office Depot brand mini post-it notes on clearance for $1.25 for an 8 pack!

I've used large eyelets on bookmarks, which are similar to the rulers. Check out this site. They have all colors and ship quickly:

Has anybody started making crafts for their craft shows yet?
I have been working all summer because I will not have much time in the fall (work and grad school).

It does feel weird to start so soon though! I really hope the composition books go on sale like they did last year again. That was a super good deal.

So far, I have make lots of glass magnets, and I am making hair clips this year also. My baby niece ispired me. Have you noticed how much those clips cost in the baby shops?! I knew I could make them cuter and cheaper. Except, now I have a new ribbon addcition!

I also have been busy this summer making items for my fall/Christmas craft shows. I always seem to scramble making last minute items the week before a show and I always want to make gift tags. Right now I'm on a gift tag making kick...they are quick and fun to make. I have one of my favorite tags posted on my blog.

I've been making items also (some can be found on my blog). I want to be prepared this year. Now I just need to pick some shows to do. Composition books were 40 cents at Walmart. Spiral notebooks only 20 cents.

If I am doing a show in late August...what are some of the items I should have? Halloween/Thanksgiving/Back to School? Does anyone have some suggestions? I know I am selling cards and I have been working on those but altered items, etc...

I have visited her website quite a bit...I guess more specific my question should have been...is it too early for Halloween/Thanksgiving/Xmas...I also have a farmer's market in late Sept...which I thought I would focus on Halloween...then another fair scheduled for October that I was going to have Thanksgiving/Christmas items for sale...I wasn;t sure with the weather being so hot if the Fall/Winter holiday items woud be selling very well in late August.

I am used to working retail where we put Christmas out in June/July but customers are always complaining "how can we have Christmas when it is 95 degrees out"...

I started making some items as well. I did make some rulers. Those were fun! And made a few mini composition books yesterday. (BTW Staples has them on sale for $0.50 for a 2 pk starting tomorrow. There is a limit, so I will 2, my daughter will buy 2, my son, etc etc. ) I have some easel frame Post It notes, some postit note keychains, and post it note pads all done as well.

Where did you find your rulers?

I ordered some from an online source and they are a bit bendy...I haven't put paper on them yet, maybe once I get that one there, the rulers won't bend so much.

well, I got them from BJs.com. They were like $0.50 no shipping. I dont know if you have to be a BJs member though. I did have to put in my member #. They got here in about 3 days.
Just a couple of things.
The hole is too big to use the jumbo eyelets in them. I dug through my drawers and had found the MM ones. They dont work.
Second, they are longer then 12". So I have the patterned paper along the part that is the actual measuring part of the ruler, and then I finshed the ends with coordinating cardstock. I still think they look pretty good. The rulers are not flimsy at all. I found ones at Office Depot which are pretty much the same, but at office Depot they were $2.59 EACH!

I am happy with the end results!
