The top is covered with Patterned paper and the sides, back and inside of the letters are hand painted. I also do 2 layers of Modge Podge over the top of them as well

Has anybody made the Tooth Fairy Tins? I am really thinking about making these because they seem quite simple to make, and I would have bought one myself when my daughter was younger (if anyone sold them!).
I think items for use by children are always a good bet. I have to order them from Specialty Bottle, I suppose.

I made some Tooth Fairy tins using the little round tins you can get at Michaels in the wedding section. I believe they come 20 per package?

I'm hoping to make Tooth Fairy tins with those little round tins, too. I'm just not sure what to charge!

Funny, I was thinking the same thing. Is there a picture on one in a round tin?

Here's some I found in the gallery here on SCS...

MrsOke's Tooth Fairy Tins

I am not sure what she used, but it looks to be about the same size as the wedding favor tins.

The big box craft stores have cute, small, round paper mache boxes that I've used for tooth fairy "tins". The Stampin' Up! Tooth Fairy stamp fits perfectly on top. Painted the box with shimmer paint and added some of the new crochet trim.

We did this in a box class I did recently. Sorry, no pix.

I used the SU tooth fairy stamp on my round tins. I ordered my tins from Lee Valley and they're the ones with the clear top. First time I've ever tried them. I really like the packaging of the tins that Cristel posted! Very cute!

The ones I posted from MrsOke used a digi stamp.

I don't know how to color the digi stamps, but would love to learn. Are the tooth fairy ones still available?

Stampin Up has a tooth fairy stamp on page 18 of their main catalog for $7.95, 119216...if anyone is interested.

Here is a cute example from Dawn Griffin:

Thank you, they were really good sellers for me last year. I sold them for $5 each, but would probably increase that to $6 now. I put a layer of batting on the inside to lay the tooth on and printed a tooth fairy poem (that I found online) that I put on the inside too.

I'll be making the tooth fairy tins for an upcoming craft fair. I found 3-4 boxes of tins at a yard sale for $1.00 per box LOL! I found the girl and boy tooth fairies and poems from People Digi's - *Whimsie Doodles. (they're towards the end of the page)

I'll be attaching some of them to wooden door hangers so the tooth fairy doesn't haven't to go into the room LOL! I'll be putting the tins into organza bags that I found at dollar tree. Here is the sample one I made:

Just want to say thanks so much for the ideas and information! I am signed up for my first craft fair on November 6th. I also have another scheduled in December and am hoping to do one or two more in November. My 12 year old daughter and I have been working hard on our supplies-she's my partner. I will try to get some pics up soon!

Been reading all the past craft show threads-it's a bummer when you don't sell anything or very very little. I've been in that boat and it's no fun. I started making Christmas ornaments-wood and paint (you can check out some of them here on my blog-- Daisy's Dilly Creations ).Wood crafting is a dying thing sooooo I normally always make a kill with my ornaments. This year could be alot different though as it's always a risk. Plus the buggers moved me this year so doubly not sure how I will do!!! If you find yourself not selling try something different but don't give up.

Those are gorgeous ornaments. I used to do a lot of painting but seemed to have veered off doing wood crafts and painting other surfaces. I keep thinking of doing them again, just don't have the equipment to cut my own surface and it gets expensive if you keep buying the cut wood from someone else!

Thanks for looking.
You know you can buy a cheap scroll saw-mine cost about $300.00 and I wouldn't trade it for the world but a cheap version does just as well for monor stuff. on the flip side of that never buy the cheap wood. Lowes hates to see me come in as I rip their shelves apart looking for the perfect pieces!!!
I also don't make an over kill as I sell those ornaments 3/7.50 but do enough of them and you can make a pretty good penny.

Beth, what size of label do you use on the lunch bag and the plastic bag? I found either 1" X 2 5/8" - which seemed smaller than I wanted - and 2" X 4" - which looks larger than I need.

Does anyone know where I can buy a CHEAP and LIGHTWEIGHT folding table to use at craft fairs? Walmart has a 5' table for about $38, but thought I'd check here to see if anyone knows where I might get one for less.

That's what we just paid for one. If you have a KMart in your area you can watch for them to have it on sale but doubting it will be much lower.

I know cheap might sound good, but put it up before you buy and lean on the middle.

Cheap wall-paper tables bow in the middle if you add any weight with good.

The best ones are plastic and have metal legs.

They are not a perfect circle.

If you have a Hobby Lobby, you can find them in their floral dept. I buy them when HL has a 40% off coupon.

This year I packaged them up in sets of 4 using GWP boxes from The Angel Company and tied a ribbon to the top), priced them at $2 and sold all but 1 set.
Here's a post with pictures of my magnets:

hi ladies - it's been a while since I've been on here - but since it's Craft Fair Season I thought I would pop in with a few links for things I am prepping for my fairs this Fall. I saw this new thread & thought it would be a great place to pop in. Hope you are all doing well!

Halloween Test Tubes

Halloween Treat Boxes

Altered Fruit Containers

Mini Holiday Planners

Lastly, I did a post today to address the "how many of each item should I make?" question. You can find that post HERE.

I will try & come back as I make more items, especially for Christmas!

Try Home Depot or Costco/Sams. I have two - one from Costco and one from HD and they're really great tables. I use them both as my crafting tables and they are super sturdy. One even holds a great deal of supplies and it never bows in the middle.

I think in my area (Central CA) I've seen them at Costco and HD for about $40, but they'll last forever.

Good luck,
Kat

Kerry: Your stuff is awesome! I can see now that I'm going to have to start saving all those cute fruit/veggie containers NOW for next craft season. Thanks so much for a bunch of marvelous ideas, as well as your craft fair expertise.

TFS,
Kat
