How much did you sell yours for?

'SWOON' although I'd probably rather meet the guy who played Spike cause I liked him better than Angel! TNT is replaying Castle and I was sick on Wed so I got to see the marathon (while making gift card holders too in between naps!). It was fun to see the earlier shows.

I made tons of gift card holders this weekend, some with the top die note, another that was a fold up kind with a belly band (those turned out so cute with the new SU paper - that stuff really does the job in crafting!), and then some pretty basic ones. But now I have to do non-Christmas ones too, people ask for those. It never ends!

I'm torn between which type of mini legal pads to do as well. The type with a cardstock cover and a matching RSVP pen is good, BUT I really think the type that you put in empty SU stamp cases would sell very well too. I guess just make some of each huh?
Congratulations!!! That's great news - I know you must be very excited! If you don't have experience with what's popular in your market then yes I would say make some of both. You never know what'll sell.

Hopefully I will get some pictures posted of some stuff this weekend. I do love how the gift card holders turned out - and really its the paper I used and punches - its not ALL talent!

And congrats on the juried show approval. Some day I may try to get approved for one but I'm pretty happy with the ones I do. And I say do a bit of the different notebooks - you never know what people are looking for or will pay.

Default Mustache Pens

Mustaches seem to be in these days...Here are my mustache pens. I'll probably sell them for .50 at my next fair. Very easy to make! I just posted these to my facebook page .

One day this week we made these ornaments:
Magnolia's Place: Fall Ornament
They take FOREVER to make, so we won't take them to the craft show.
Magnolia's Place: Fall Ornament

Today we made a Christmas version that was easier, no stamping because we used decorative Christmas paper instead. They turned out real well, BUT we decided they just take too much effort to sell for any less than 10.00, and who would pay that for them? Soooo we decided to take just a few, maybe a dozen. We'll stick a price of ten on them and if they sell great, if not - we'll use them for gifts

Very cute items Carole. I like the fall ornament. I made a couple of the Christmas colored ones, was thinking of doing some for sales too. But they do take some time, don't they! I also really liked the sailboat easel card on your blog.

Thanks Mary! That sailboat card was done by my friend Pam. She's also my Upline (SU). I really like her crab cards too

Okay Question......Does anyone know of a tutorial for a little holder to hold 2 bottles of hand lotion? I have seen them before, but can't find one now. It can be back to back or next to each other. I would prefer to have a handle. I tried googling, but maybe I am just not calling it the correct thing.
Thanks in advance!!!

Oh By the way....everytime I try to charge more for the gift card holders. they don't sell. Maybe it's just the area I am in?

Remember, I'm doing my first two craft shows this fall. However I've gone to many many shows. I am also aware of what Hallmark cards sell for, so I bought two very simple, plain cards at Kroger last week. One was 3.99 and the other was 2.79. I showed them to the two friends that are doing the shows with me and we all agree, that we will not sell our cards for less than 4.00. I'm going to make a small poster to put on an easel and include those two 'commercial' cards, and it will read, "which would you rather have?" or something similar.

So, I guess we'll see. Crossing my fingers.

Default tag book marks

Dianneo,
Yours is soooo pretty! I am going to look to see if I can find the precut tag board.
In case I can't find them, approximately how big are the pages?

Been working on stuff for craft fairs recently too. I wanted to get started earlier this year and I did do some sewing projects this spring.

Made some wine woolies.....bought wool sweaters at Salvation Army to make a bunch of different projects that I havent totally gotten around to yet ....but for the wine woolies, I just cut off a sleeve, stitched up the bottom and decorated them. They turned out cute! (I'll post pics of my projects when I remember to get batteries for my camera! or I'll just use my phone and hope they turn out ok.)

Made some swiffer duster replacements out of fleece. Since everyone is going green, thought these might sell?!

Made some mason jar candle holders. Just put a tea light in a mason jar and decorated the jar up and used some wire to make a handle. Want to make some yard stakes for them out of heavier guage wire but don't know whether I'll get to that or not.

Have paper stuff left over from last year so hopefully don't have to make a ton of stuff but like to have different things each year. My candy treats usually sell well, so this year I will do the hershey bar snowmen (going to check out Sam's for that Smores treat set...thank to whoever posted that sale!), popcorn bag snowman, lifesaver roll snowman. Snowman soup/hot chocolate variations and going to try to add some tea and coffee items this year. Doing some Twizzler treats this year.

Here is my Santa version I saw on someone's blog (Patty Bennett, I believe) and fell in love with. They are quite a bit of work for just 1 Twizzler, but 2 Twizzlers looked funny to me, so I did just use one. Hopefully it's so cute that people will buy it and I'll have it priced cheap ($1.50 each or 4 for $5). I am doing an owl version that says "Happy Whooo-lidays" but I havent taken a pic of it yet. Then I am doing a $1 version with just the circle scallop tag and it says "Twiz the Season".

Not sure of any on sale. I didnt really have a tutorial, just cut and measured and glued. The paper beads I made with UTTE. I have found that sometimes the books are different sizes. Sometimes it's slight, but enough to mess you up.

Well....After a not very productive show on Saturday, Sunday i wake up with a message from the bank. Someone stole my CC #! It's a debit/credit so the $ comes directly from my bank account. Luckily the bank caught it and today I had to go fill out fraud paperwork. I have to wait for the purchases to hit, then they can dispute them then I get to wait for my money!! Yay me! Is this week over yet????

Also I wanted to ask, i thought I saw a recipe for candy cane sugar scrub, but now I am not seeing it. Is there any way someone can direct me?
I'd appreciate it!

Also I wanted to ask, i thought I saw a recipe for candy cane sugar scrub, but now I am not seeing it. Is there any way someone can direct me?
I'd appreciate it!
OH NO Gina!! I'm so sorry!!! I hope you get your money soon.

I also hope the crook gets some bad karma too

How on earth do you decide how many things to make? We've got 30 post it note holders.

We have a one day show in Nov. and a two day show the first week in Dec.

I'm kinda thinking we should make more???

Post it note holders were very good sellers at the last craft fair. My friends sold many.

I have different kinds of post it note holders, and they all sell very well. ACMoore has the acrylic frames on sale this week 50% off! I bought all the 3x5 and 4x6 ones they had and I got rainchecks for more. Post it note frames with matching pens were in my top 3 sellers at all 3 of my shows last year! And don't forget to make some masculine! I sold every one of those that I made! I also played around a bit last year and made some 6x4 frames (the horizotal standing ones) and made a place for a small photo, like maybe a wallet size. I made 6 of them, and the same woman bought all 6 and wanted more.
This year I also added Butterfly post it note keychains as well as post it note holders with pens to the mix.

Those acrylic frames are a good idea! I just need to find a cheap source for them around here. We don't have ACMoore, but we do have HL, Mikes and Joanns. I think those would sell real well too!

Gina, I looked on your website and I really like the pen pockets on your notebooks. Are they the junior legal pads? Would you be willing to share directions?

WalMart has the frames in their store too, I get mine there. Dollar stores usually carry them as well.
