If you've downloaded the file to your computer, you can save it on a dvd (or cd if it fits). If its a file on your computer, you can save it to whatever removable type media you want.

Are you referring to youtube videos? The site was designed such that you are not allowed to download and save the file in your personal hard disk. I imagine there are computer whizzes out there who will be able to overcome this restriction.

Ladies, you can't save a YouTube video. The best you can do is print each screen if you stop it. The quality is not great, but you can see it.

As previous poster states, YouTube is set up so that you can not save it as a video.....I've tried.

Yes, you can save youtube videos.

1. First download and install the little program called "unlocker".

This link explains the reason for use the program and it has the download link as welll.

www . freesoftwareworkshop . com / unlocker

no space in between because this is my first post so I cannot post the direct link yet.

2. Download and install the flv player. I guess any free one will do.

3. Click on any youtube link that you want to view and wait until the bar under the movie shows in fully red - this means that it has finished downloading into your temporary folder

4. Open the temporary folder in the window explorer by typing "%temp%"in the command bar.

5. You can either click on the "Size" or "Date modified" to show the latest file that just been downloaded. Sometimes I found the "Size" is better to sort because youtube file is usually about 5Mb or more depending on the quality of the movie.

6. The file is usually named with extension tmp for example "fla10.tmp"

7. Right click on the file name and choose the function "unlocker"

8. Unlocker will open the window and on the bottom left corner, there is a window drop down with a few choices, I normally choose the "copy". Then it will pop up another screen asking you where you want to save the file. I normally just copied the title from the youtube and then pasted it it into the save box. IMPORTANT. you must add the extension ".flv" into the end of the file name so that you change the temporary file into the flv file in order to view the movie.

This method applies to most cases other than youtube.

even easier way: copy adress from youtube video (example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOsuv6elToA), go to http://keepvid.com/
and paste your's video adress to URL window, then click DOWNLOAD (on the right) and just select flv or mp4 format tipe and place on your computer where to save it...click save...and that's it...
