I use Cuttlebug embossing folders in my BigShot without a problem. The smaller and thinner Cuttlebug folders go through the Sidekick too!

Everything you can run through a Cuttlebug, you can run through a Big Shot. I have a Big Shot at home and use a Cuttlebug at work. And I loooove my Big Shot! (it's just my personal opinion)
I've run through them both...brass stencils, sizzix & fiskars texture plates, dream weaver stencils, card board cut outs, Sizzix dies, Bosskutz dies, quickcutz dies, cuttlebug dies, cuttlebug embossing folders, all Spellbinders products including Nesties, Impressabilities, shapeabilities, borderabilities....and many other non-traditional items to get a an embossing impression. They do sooo much, it's awesome!

The Big Shot is considered the "Rolls-Royce" of manual die-cutting machines, because it can handle practically EVERYTHING, no matter the brand! The same can't be said of machines like the Cuttlebug or the Wizard.

The Big Shot can use any of the dies out there with the right sandwich. The cuttlebug can, too with the exception of the Big Shot XL die PLATES....the dies will go through, just not the plates, they are just a bit too wide.
The Slice is a completely different type of die cutter than either of these. The slice is an electronic die cutter that uses some kind of cards or something (I don't have one so can't tell you for sure), but it does not use any embossing folders or anything like that, it just cuts out shapes and stuff like that.
