Default Peppermint Patties

I haven't found any others besides Pearson's peppermint patties either. I've been making my patty faces like crazy the last week or so. I'm going to have them separate this year, since they are bigger and more involved. Thinking of pricing them 50 cent each or 3 for $1.00. Would like to price them 75cents each or 3 for $2.00 but don't think I could get that price for them. Any thoughts on that? I'm also working on a snowman one and possibly a reindeer (depending on time, my first craft fair is November 9th).

I've seen them once in a while at the Dollar Store, but I did get mine at WM. But the Dollar Store has small frames anyway, that aren't acrylic, they'd still work. Or they have the bigger acrylic frames and you could have a few items listed on the bigger frame, if they were close together on the table. I googled them (I think they are 2x3) but I didn't really see any site that had them. They are around $1 at WM.

Cute! I like the Santa - I saw another version of that but forgot about it. Get cracking on the snowman and reindeer will ya! On the blog that I found the elf (I think this is where I saw it) she was sellnig for 75 Cents. If do the elf (oh and now Santa!) they will be 75 each and maybe 2/$1.25. I sell my little hershey for $1.25 for that would make sense to me.

I think the mint is abot a dime but the work in doing them this way should be taken into consideration.

And no we are 'stuck' with Pearson brand but I don't mind them. They are smaller I think though.

It's the full heart punch from SU! Just adhere it upside down onto the ornament punch.

Huh the one punch I don't seem to have! Well the other one I posted used a square cut in half so maybe I'll combine the two and see what I come up with. I want something different on my table this year. Kind of tired of what I usually do.

Yeah, I haven't done the mints in 2 years, so wanted to do them again. I just got caught up in details - I can't resist punch art

Yeah, punch art is adorable. I like 3-D items too. More than making cards.

Nope. Wasn't me for the key fobs. I get anxious when things are related to sewing. lol. Wish I could sew but I can't and the learning curve detracts me for now.

RE: Peppermint patties

I found a different brand at a new store in WA called Winco. They are a competitor to Walmart with better pricing on many things. They have a large bulk section and I found them there. There isn't a brand name on them though. It just says "Peppermint Patties" on the top of the foil. Anyhow, they taste good according to my hubby (I don't each them). He thinks they are better than Pearson brand.
When I was there, I bought just a few so I could see what the cost would be each and it was 10cents.
I think I will make them. I have all the scallop circles cut & glued and ready from last year when I decided I had enough candy treats.
We will see. I feel like I am running out of time! I work fulltime too so it is hard to find time and energy every day to craft also.

Default Bookmarks

I really want to do a new style of bookmarks this year. I made ones with the glass gems for a couple years. Last year, I just did plain paper ones mostly geared to kids.
When I google ideas, they are all the same. The ribbon and elastic ones look interesting but may be time-intensive for me.

Can others share what kinds of bookmarks they have made??

Those are sooo cute! And they will sell for sure... But seem very time intensive for 50 cents?
How much do the peppermint patties cost you each?
Think about upping it to 75cents maybe?

My husband suggested 75cents a piece for them. I get the mints in bulk at Sam's club, equals out to about 4 to5 cents each for Pearson's brand. But the punch art is labor-intensive. I really appreciate the price suggestions. I'm very guilty of underpricing my items :P

Here are some I made for confirmation at my church this year. I forgot about them and some people had commented I should sell them. I bought a laminator at Staples on Black Friday a couple of years ago (they seem to run the sale every year) and it comes in handy.

Well thanks to whoever tuned me into the key fobs. And I didn't sew mine, with them stuck in the 'fob' part, the ribbon doesn't stray too far from the nylon strap thing. I avoid sewing, I can stitch but not run a machine.

To SC Magnolia: Someone on one of these threads suggested using the small acrylic frames (like you use for the post it calendars/pad/pens) to make price holders. I did that last year and it worked great. They are small, maybe 2 x 3 inches, and I got them at Wmart. * Personal note: Also, since you and I share the same feelings about Christmas, I thought you might like to know about a great song by the Go Fish Guys called "Christmas with a Capital C. ". It is my favorite all time Christmas album and I am 65 years old. There is a song on the album called "It's About the Cross" that is awesome. You can go to the Go Fish Guys website and listen to these songs. Lots of adults don't know about them because they are primarily a group for children.
I loved that song! I just shared it on Facebook with my family. Lots of nieces and nephews with kids Thanks for sharing

I ran out of time to do bookmarks for my first sale but I will be doing some for the others. They actually sell fairly well for my sales. I have used the big paperclips in the past (4" ones) and I have a bunch left over from last year's sales but I didn't like how I did them. I'm hoping that I can get the stuff I glued on them off so I can reuse them (next year - no time for experimenting this year).

For this year I think I'm going to try the paper ones, similar to the ones posted by others above. I can use stamps or designer paper. maybe magnetic ones too. And teacher themed, those sold well last year. I did go through Gayla's Pinterest board for bookmarks and pinned some from there and then got sidetracked to other boards with bookmarks on them - some were really intricate and beautiful. But I charge $1.50 for mine so they won't be that fancy! There were some that had a pocket to put the bookmark in but that would be nice for a gift I think. So many ideas out there!

The first time I saw this idea she had done it with a bird - maybe it was called rocker bird? And I thought there was a tutorial on Splitcoast for it. But such a cute idea. Hers was a stamp I think. I would think you could use any small stamp image. If you want me to find the other image I can look for you. Its 'somewhere' I know!

Here are some I have leftover from last year. I've also done pigs and sheep and they sell pretty well. I sold the smaller bear and Elmo for $1.50 and the larger frog and owl for $2.00.

I plan to sell cards at my sales this year. I have always sold them individually but would like to try sets this time. I am wondering about pricing the sets. Can anyone help me?

depends how many cards in the set and how elaborate they are... usually I would price them somewhat cheaper than a similar individual card x number of cards - unless you create some special packaging for them...

I tried them the first year and didn't sell at all. Since then never tried them again.

I tried selling them my first year as well (that is about 5years ago now) and they didn't sell very well. I have concentrated on other things since.

I usually price the individual cards at $4-5. I think that some sell them in groups of 4 or 5 cards for? Ideas please? I don't want to overprice them.

But I like using the ribbon around the top better, it keeps the frame together (its kind of loose sometimes) and its way easier than making that loop - sometimes I make the loop too big and the pen kind of slides out of it. I might have some from last year in my gallery.
Thanks for the help. Everyone here is so talented and sharing. Hope everyone has a great crafting season and merry christmas, it will be here before we know it.
