Thanks so much for sharing girls. I love the idea of the Name Frames. And my Demo has already spoken to me about joining during SAB... I think the US offer might be better then the Australian one... but it's still a good one lol.

I made these Chocolate bar wrappers for a birthday and I was thinking of changing the colours and belly band for Valentines day:

Everybody needs to post the shows that they love. I am currently retired, and do lots of traveling, always looking for good shows to attend.

That is so cute and I haven't seen that before. My problem is storage. I will be creating things that will store flat and the more 3D items I will be doing towards Sept/Oct.

I know what you mean Caroline. I'm going to make some skinny cello tube candy treats, but thinking I should leave that to the last minute as I don't want the skittles and M&M's to get sticky.

I also made some gift card holders yesterday. They were so super easy and quick I made about 10 in a couple of hours. Because I'm going to a Mums and Bubs market, Im trying to make baby things as well as birthday.

img_5193-large-.jpg img_5197-large-.jpg

I have more pictures of all of them on my blog.

Possibly you could get away with making the toppers and then fill them as you get closer to the date. Makes the job that much quicker!

Speaking of toppers on top of 1x8 cello bags, can we share how people close them to put tags on?

I found you could not fill the bag full and staple a topper on. Also, then you see the staple on the back, and it matters how they sit on the table.
Am I making any sense?

I ended up closing them with mini hair elastics, then tying a tag on with a piece of raffia. It worked but ...I like the cute toppers people use also.

Diane,
I think the one time i did it ( for gifts for people at work) I used some skinny string and tied off the ends of the bags at the top and then I used a glue dot to stick the topper on ( not a staple) so the bag was not filled all the way to the top so the end of it where the string was, was up inside the topper so, it gave it support i guess is what I am thinking.

That's how I do them also.

I tie them off with skinny ribbon tied in a bow so people can re-tie it after taking candy out.

I have made two different items for a December 2012 craft show. A paper cup, as seen here: Paper Coffee Cup by PSUKim05 - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

They are all done, just need to put coffee and a biscotti in them.

I also cut all of the makings for the purses seen here:

Gift Purse, LIp Balm Purse and Candy Purse by Zehra - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

These are not put together but everything is cut and ready to go, won't be putting them together until just before the craft show.

What about you? Have you gotten anything done? Do you have in mind what you are going to make?

I made these coffee cups for a show this past Christmas, even used the same cardstock. I thought they looked very nice. Anyway, my point is that I included a cello bag of chocolates along with the Via coffee. Then put the whole thing in another cello bag. I sold quite a few of them, but only after picking up the cup to show exactly what it was. Next time I will only use the cello bag for the chocolates and not bag the cup so it will be more obvious it is a cup.

Love this cups! Is there a tutorial on how to make them somewhere?

If you want to bag the cups you could leave one out of the bag on the table as a display. If you run out take orders.

I have just finished organizing all my craft supplies for next year. I bought some of the metal sheets and am looking for a good project to make with embossed metal.

Do you have the instructions handy for the purses? They look cute!

Check out Monica Weaver - Add A Little Dazzle. She makes very cute projects with metal sheets and often offers free tutorials. I have some that I've saved from her site if you can't find any. Put her blog in your reader program and/or subscribe to her newsletter and you will get lots of ideas from her.

Yum, chocolates; maybe I will do half with biscotti and half with chocolate. What kind of chocolates did you use?

They were a big hit at my Christmas shows this year, I got the lip balms from Avon and sold them for $3 each (the lip balms were 69 cents each) but the rest was pretty much scraps I used up so they were money makers and brought folks over to the table.

I am not sure I'd do them again, while I sold 40 of them, I want my inventory next year to be fresh and exciting!

I just have to put on my original hat now? I'm not too good with that.

But if you haven't had them at your shows, they sure seemed like a winner and your area may not have seen them yet. I know geographically what's hot and what's not really is location driven!

For the coffee cups, I wanted to use Lindt chocolates, but Costo was all sold out when I went to buy them. A good reason to buy things when you see them. So I used Hershey Nuggets.

I also made the purses and added the Avon lip balm. I think I will make them again this year since I have some very nice paper left over and it takes so little and they make up pretty fast. I think this time I will add Ghiradelli chocolates.

Any ideas for how to find craft fairs in your area? I would love to participate in one this year but don't know of many in my area. The ones that I do know of are too big and have pretty high participation fees.

I use eventlister.com to find stuff in my area. For the big shows, there is a digital magazine you can subscribe to called Where It's At. Web address is Where It's AtŪ Arts & Crafts Magazine This magazine thought gives the lower 17 states worth of information. TX, CA, LA, GA, AL, OK, etc.

I have a link to my pinterest boards on the very bottom of my blog i think.

Cute things that you pinned on the site - I repinned some to my board too. I LOVE the suitcase display - not for craft sales maybe for my house! I just love that look. Thanks for sharing these.

I saw some cute garden/plant stakes made with metal sheets. ran through a die machine and then embossed too through the die machine. Some had chalkboard (either paint or SU sells those sheets too) that were put on them for writing the type of plant

I've never done a craft show before, but I've been so inspired by all the posts I've read in the various craft show threads that I've decided to give it a try. I don't plan to do any shows until fall, but I've already started making some prototypes. Thanks for all the great ideas!

I am thinking about trying to do some stamped candles for my shows this year. Anyone done this..tips?
I have watched a couple videos. They look easy.
Does it matter what kind of ink you use?
And does it matter which side of wax paper you use?

I've always used dye inks and I haven't found any difference in using one side or the other of the waxed paper.

Default stamped candles

I have only used sharpies to color so I don't have experience with either inks; but having gone through the process of doing it I would think it shouldn't make any difference. All it does is melts the wax to embed the paper into the wax.

You mean sharpies to stamp with, or do you colour the image on tissue paper before transferring it to the candle??

I meant sharpies to color the image on tissue paper before transferring. I would stamp the outline in Memento Dye Ink because that's the dye ink I had on hand.

I did this one year and the response was quite poor - either my candles weren't that good or the people didn't "get" them - either way I've never done it again I was sad for that because I really enjoyed making those candles.

I have done lots of craft/vendor shows over the years! With all different products ranging from Tupperware to now doing hand crafted items. I really love doing these shows and its fun to meet new people.

I find response is always so different from year to year. A friend and I do them together and share a booth. We are cheap and never like to pay over a certain amount for a space (lots of times we get 2 spaces) and we have decided that we really only are limiting ourselves to doing 2 shows, both close to Christmas. We have done spring shows, summer shows, etc and in the end, they havent been worth our time, at least around here. Plus we are both very busy so it just wasnt worth it.

The two shows we are going to do this year are big, well-established shows. Both are at schools. Well, one is our local school and one is a Catholic church/school. She makes jewelry items, her teenage daughter makes scarves and I make papercrafty items. We usually do pretty well for selling smaller and cheaper priced things. THAT is the key. Items that are reasonably priced. I know everyone says "well remember to charge for your time...you are worth it!" and while I agree with that, I would also rather sell my items and make money rather than taking 99% of it back home because it was overpriced.

My biggest seller last year was those darned Heshey Bar Snowmen?! Out of all the cute stuff I made, I couldnt keep those things in stock! Who knew?! Also, I made some paper mugs (the flat kind not the cool 3-D ones that have been shown here already) with hot chocolate packet and a spoon and the snowman soup poem on it and those all went well too. Seems like my items like this go well...candy and drink items. Everything else is hit and miss.

This year I have decided to try some new things, also. Pinterest is a lot of fun for garnering ideas. I am also going to try my hand at other things and break away from just papercrafty stuff. I will, however, keep doing the candy stuff since it sells! My cards hardly ever sell....just a few....and I always think I make lovely cards for the craft fairs...more simplistic and public-friendly.

Snowman Soup by SANDY1955 - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers soup mugs

This is not my mug! I forgot to take pics of my actual ones I made...but this is like the paper cup I used. I embossed the entire mug and they turned out super cute. I bought a digi download of some snowman soup poems and put the on the front.

I have a craft show this weekend, and added pics of my bookmarks to my facebook page. They are very simple and meant for kids.
