Default using nesties and stamps

I don't know if this has been posted before, I love the effect.
I saw it on a blog (sorry didn't take a note of the address).

I cut out a shape (I used oval and circle) with my nestie, leave it in the die and emboss with it.

While still in the nestie, I ink up a stamp, leave the stamp face up and place the nestie down on top with the correct side facing the stamp (of course :-)
). Rub over the paper and right into the edges of the die with your fingers.

You come away with a design inside an embossed border of a cut out, the border stays the cardstock colour.

Works great with square stamp designs and using part of the stamp in a circle/oval nestie.

I then just clean the die with my scrubber.

Default Neat idea!

Sounds like a great way to get a background stamp within the nestie shape. TFS

Hi nanl,
I haven't uploaded any photos yet, a bit daunting. But I will take some and try and post them later today. It is 6am here, so the light isn't very good at the moment :-) It really is a good technique and is very effective.

Default Nestabilities

Nesties is the shortform used for the dies which are made by Spellbinders. They are, official, called Nestabilities. They come in circles, ovals, squares, rectangles, hearts and a few other shapes, if memory serves.

They can both cut out the shapes and emboss them - after being cut or without being cut out.

They are used with diecut machines and will fit any of the machines with the appropriate 'sandwich' of plates for the machine.

The dies 'nest' together in graduated sizes, that is why they are called Nestabilities or 'Nesties'. That's the 'nest'.

If you google Spellbinders or Nestabilities, you will see them and learn more about them and what neat things you can do with them.

Hope this helps.

I've done a similar thing with my nesties. After cutting and embossing I filp them over so rightside is up, don't remove them though. Then I rub my chalks around the edge and softly work in towards th middle. when you remove them from your nestie you have a crisp line of color at the embossed line with the cardstock showing along the edge.
