Default Question about a technique

Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

Sorry if this is a double post, I couldn't find my original!! I would like to know if this background is sponged, or is it another technique. I just love this!

It looks like a great job using crayon resist. There is a tutorial in the resource section for this technique.

Heather

Default I meant the background....

Yep your right. It does state how she did the background. Should have checked that out before I posted!

I *think* the color is sponged on -either with sponges or with the daubers.

Brayer over the image or use sponges to cover the entire glossy cardstock piece.

Ok, I'm confused. Brayer or sponges? Can someone clear this up for me? Do the transfer the image using the brayer?

Do I sponge with color first, then transfer my image with the brayer?

Thanks guys...

I used sponges before I had the brayer and still do if I want more than one colour of the background ink. I have not had any trouble with the black image transfering or smudging. I let it dry if I use ink but have also embossed the black image too so its not going anywhere!

The brayer or sponge is the last step, after you colour in the areas with the white crayon that you want to stay white. Hint, the first one I didn't make the white crayon thick enough and it did not "resist" as well as I had hoped. Thicker the better, and no ink will get through.

Then you can gently wipe off any coloured ink that stays on top of the white crayon marks.

HTH,
HeatherJ
