Question precision base plate problem

I had played with my new precision base plate at home then tried to show it at my club meeting. It seems to have lost it's magnetic charge. What the heck! Has this happened to anyone else?

I didn't think the precision plate was magnetic. I thought it went over the magnetic plate. Could be wrong but that is what I understand.

It is not magnetic-it replaces the bottom clear cutting plate.

did more research after I posted and yes I was wrong! It is not magnetic just a better cutting surface for those intricate dies. My mistake. Thanks for the responses.

Just bought one this week. I was told it goes over magnetic plate then paper, die and acrylic plate. This eliminates one acrylic plate , so you only use one. However I have not tried mine but just given instruction by store owner. Who demo'd and used Spellbinders intricate die on BS.
