Default Help with Word Books!

I have seen wonderful examples of word books on this site and on cricut dot com, but I can't seem to find instructions. I have purchased some 12x12 chipboard and the deep-cut cricut blades, so I'm all set - except for instructions. I have the Expression w/Plantin' Schoolbook cartridge (End Caps feature). I even have a BIA! (Note: I do not have Design Studio.) Also, I have seen pre-made word books such as Friend, Baby, etc., but mine is to be someone's name so I need to do this from scratch. Please, ladies, where do I go from here? Your assistance is very much appreciated.

You need to have the Cricut Design Studio software that runs on your computer and connects to your cricut to make word books.
Cricut also has a site and message board that offers a lot of tutuorials on how to do it!
Good luck! They are fun to make, and now having the deep cut blade is sooo much easier! (Imagine doing it for 20 of my students w/o the deep cut blade... yikes!)

Thanks tiggerisms - Guess I'll have to get the CDS software - I imagine it's available from many sources. Thanks for your response - I really am anxious to get started with these.

Before purchasing Design Studio, check out Sure Cuts A Lot at www.craftedge.com

It much more user friendly than Design Studio, which I find to be way too limiting as well in what you can actually create!

You need to have the cartridges with Design Studio but with Sure Cuts A Lot you can use ANY font or dingbat downloaded from the internet!

Check it out......thousands of us are using it and since purchasing it (approximately same cost as Design Studio) I haven't even bothered opening up the Design Studio program!

ALSO, you can put Sure Cuts A Lot on two computers.....Design Studio you can't!

I have made these last year and No you don't have to have the DS, i think the pinkstamper has her directions with and with out the DS, but you do use the end caps. I took me forever to figure it out. Now you have me thinking maybe i will make another one.

Ditto! I would have never bougth a Cricut before the SCAL software. Buy it and never buy another Cricut cart.

Ebay has some good prices.
