Default Help! Stampin' my mailbox!! :)

Hi there,

I want to stamp my mailbox on the house, but I have no idea how to make sure that it won't get ruined by the weather.

How do I seal it? Do I use Acrylic Sealer? Do I use Mod Podge?

HELP!

Thank you!

I stamped my mailbox about 2 years ago. I used a now retired SU set and this is what I did: Stamp images with barely banana ink so you can see the shape etc. and then used outdoor acrylic paint from Michaels (in those little plastic bottles). My mail box is white metal and it has not run at all. Made it through 2 winters! I did not need to use sealers. Not the greatest job, but my first so I still like it. I attached a picture for you and I hope this helps.

Good luck with it. I forgot to say that I free style painted the image once I had the outline. I did not put paint on the stamp, but I am sure you can. Have fun with it. There are no mistakes because you can quickly wipe paint off before it dries. I cannot wait to see yours!

I painted mine about 8 years ago. It still looks nice. Getting a little lighter now but still nice. I painted the box a cream color & used a retired set of roses to do mine. I put the acrylics right on the stamp. Now, that said, you need a bucket of warm soapy water right next to you. As soon as you stamp, wash it. Then I used a paint brush to fill in or move around the paint. It turned out lovely. I did spray mine with acryllic spray. I live in Northern Indiana so it has withstood the weather, too.

Good luck
