I was just wondering if anyone has used either one of these tools and how well they work. I wanted to get one but I was concerned that they wouldnt be easy to use. Also, they seem a little pricey to me but if they work well then I would gladly get one. Anyone have some input on this?
I didn't like mine at all - in fact I ended up selling it! I am much happier with the Coluzzle (and not just because it's a SU product ...). Some people love the Fiskars, but I was very disappointed and didn't end up using it almost at all!

I got the Fiskars shape cutter, and don't like it. I love the coluzzle and thought I'd like the shape cutter, but it is very hard to use ... just my opinion.
I have the fiskars shape cutter and a lot of different templates. I like it. I think it's easy to use. I use it mostly to make mini cards and envelopes.
I have the blade runner. I like the way it cuts, I especially like the glass mat. I use it for everything now even with my CM blades and hot glue projects. The only thing is the templates are hard to find. Now, I don't do much template cutting at all...I have turned into a squares only type of gal.
Thanks for all the tips! I thought about getting coluzzle but I read here that everyone either loves it or hates it.
I have one more question: Does anyone know of if there is a template out there that lets you cut a tag and a perfect mat for that tag? I've fallen in love with the tag sheets from SU but I want to be able to make them in other colors. I know people have said that you can use the tag sheet as a template but that's a little too difficult for me, they never come out right.
I like the Coluzzle, but the best cutting system I've ever used is the Creative Memories system. It is just awesome! I have the circles and ovals and with the different blades, you can create perfect mats. Love it!
I have used these cutters, coluzzle and the CM (creative memories)cutters. The only cutter that is easy to use out of the gate is CM. You can cut flawlessly with it, but it is pricey and they don't offer many shapes in the way of templates. All of the other cutters take getting used to. Some folks hate the coluzzle swivel knife (it needs to be straight up and down and you have to know the pressure to apply given the weight of cs. Fiskars shape cutter works well (make sure you keep the template facing up so you can read fiskars and be aware that the blade needs to be adjusted up and down depending on cs weight). Blade runner I found to be the trickiest of the lot. Again the straight up and down position of the knife is key--I ruined a few stencils learning how to use it.
Both coluzzle and fiskars have tag templates. CM does not (that I know of) and blade runner should work with any soft template you find.
Practice with any of these cutters is key to success. Only CM was "easy".
Visit several scrapbooking shops. They should have most of these tools in their crop room for use. Keep in mind their blades may be a bit dull.
I tried and tried to get my Fiskars shape cutter to work decently and I eventually threw it out. Kept the templates though, figured I would use them from time to time for something...
