Default Adhesive for Acetate?

I'm looking to make some of the twist boxes (sour cream containers) with acetate, instead of cardstock...what's the best type of adhesive so they will stay closed? I tried the red lined tape but it didn't last.
Thanks for any help!

Hi Tiffany,

I've been watching your post, hoping to see a solution that I could use, too! Since I can't suggest any other adhesive, have you thought about using some hardware to reinforce the adhesive? Brads or eyelets could hold one end closed, and running ribbon through holes on the other end would allow it to be opened without destroying the container.

Or ribbon on both ends, maybe?

Good luck! Let us know what works.

Thanks...I'm trying to make them look "elegant", being able to see through them and all...
Hoping to still get some more ideas ;)

I have found that only scor tape works to keep acetate closed. However, you will be able to see that it is there.

I can think of only 2 things, but I'm not sure if they'll work well:

1. Glossy Accents/Diamond Glaze - You might see it.
2. Spray adhesive - It might not hold.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

If you check the tutorial in Resources - Splitcoaststampers - Sour Cream Container Project Tutorial by Beate Johns - Beate suggests using brads or eyelets to help hold the short ends. I guess the tension from the twist puts extra stress on it, because I have a regular acetate box stuck with red-line tape that's still perfect three years down the road.
You could also try checking the gallery (there's a link in the tutorial) and see what other people have done when using acetate.
