Happy Monday to you all. I have been considering a couple of techniques for this week - in the end I thought we could celebrate Spring by creating a stamped wreath. Of course, if you prefer to stamp a Christmas wreath, or a fantasy one, that's perfectly fine.
Remember that this is a TECHNIQUE challenge, so it's not about using a wreath stamp or die. We are going to use Dina's tutorial from Falliday Fest which is Wreath Stamping, and stamp our own wreaths from scratch.
You can find the tutorial HERE, complete with video.
Dina offers several different options, including using a stamp positioner or a wreath-maker template if you have one, so feel free to explore all the various possibilities she shows. I have no templates; I used a flower stamp in my stamp positioner, and then stamped in the leaves and birds afterwards, plus the sentiment. I had to temporarily unmount the pinecone for my second sample ;-). Once you've decided on your main feature stamp, I'm sure you'll find lots of little small ones you can use to fill the wreath out. I really wanted to make one using some peg stamps Francie gave me for the fillers, but ran out of time.

Choose Technique Spotlight, then Holiday Blitz, then Wreath Stamping to add your card to the gallery and build a reference library.
*** Remember to use the keyword TLC735 when you are uploading. It's helpful, especially to the hostesses, if you come back and leave a link on this thread. There seem to be issues with the keyword search at the moment so not all challenge cards have been showing up in their respective galleries. Without a link here, we may miss your card.
If you're not sure how to link your card on the thread here, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one window for your card and one for this thread.
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
My old way of stamping a wreath was with a regular old-fashioned drawing compass...I don't know how many people used to do this back in their schooldays. When you draw a circle and then place the point on the circumference, if you draw a short line through the circumference and then move the tip to that marker and repeat around the circle, you will have divided it evenly into six. But if you don't have a stamp positioner or a wreath template I suspect you probably don't have a compass or protractor either.
For my wreath, I dug out my botanical style stamps- maple leaves and holly and berries stamps- used my water pen to dilute my colors- added a rough twine bow- here's berry wreath

This was a fun technique. I don't have a positioned. Instead I did a reverse mask, stamping my little image just inside a circle template from my scrap booking supplies. I used a little flwer spray four times around the circle, and then a few partial stamps to fill it in nicely. The cup has the single stamp. I used a blender pen with ink from the pad to add colour toportions of the teapot and the cup and saucer. Wreathed teapot by Vannie - at Splitcoaststampers
A little late to your party, Sabrina. I've been out-of-town. Your challenge sounded like fun...so I went back(something I don't usually do if I have missed a challenge). Thanks.
