The Dress, The Dress, Have you Seen that Dress?
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion! The Rest of the Story:
1: Fashion designers are a special breed. Not only do they provide us with inspiration to wear something different from day to day but they truly show us that we can be anything we want to be. Why, I can be Tilly Tomboy out fishing with my Dad one day and off to the prom the next. (Well, he said it seemed like that fast a change anyway) And oh my!! have you checked out the couture runway shows? Such interesting combinations. and some that leave me wondering...but that's another story.
2: Fashion designers have need for lots of imagination and ability to see beyond the normal. A desire to reinvent the wheel so to speak and come up with a new spin on a simple dress. or pants. or blouse. Well, you get the picture. And the newest designer on the block is Lil'D and her designs are so far off the normal that she has been called a visionary. Although some just call her weird, but such is the life of a creative. Her latest line is almost ready for the Spring runway shows and she is busy putting the final details together although her mind is already spinning way ahead and planning some designs for next years line.
3: This year Lil'D has planned some amazing gowns which all showcase her signature "easy to wear" style. Although I'm not so sure about the catalog layout this yr. I just can't see me milking my cows in a ball gown. Even if it is camo print in a lovely (well. many) shade of pink. Oh my, talk about thinking outside the box. This one is a tad bit out there Lil'D.
4: But Lil'D isn't at all worried, she knows that her customer base "gets it" and the camo line will be a big hit. And she already has several trunk shows lined up so she is sure to have some orders ahead to bolster the spirit and the bottom line. But Lil'D does have one really big problem. She has always designed for "normal" bodies not those toothpick ones and the gals she markets her designs to aren't the Polly Frou Frou party till you drop type. Her gals are more down to earth and realize that the milking and barn cleaning must be done before the party starts. But finding models that fit this ideal has become more and more difficult. Those gals are just to darn busy to be strutting down the runway doing nothing more than wearing a new dress. Maybe she needs to stage a different kind of show next year. Thus the "out there" catalog layout this year, sort of testing the waters y'know.
5: And it seems that the catalog is getting a good response. But it's one thing to photograph 1 model in multiple dresses doing her chores but for a runway show, she will need more than 1 model. Oh dear! This is becoming more and more difficult. She has been scouring the crowds at all her shows looking for just the right gals but not finding the right "look" So, it looks like she may have to do a major model search. What a pain, she would so prefer for them to just show up on her door and let her spend her time creating.
6: So teapotters, how about it? Do you know anyone who would fit the bill for Lil'D? Maybe an aspiring designer herself. Surely with 42,000 of us, we can think of a few gals that would be so bold as to milk their cows in a ball gown. Or hoe their garden in a fancy frock.
Challenge Translation:
Pink, Pink and more pink in every shade you can think of. Camoflage that design and lets get our girly on. Bring a dress, a blouse or even some overalls but lets do them in lovely shades of pink please.
