MMTPT215 ~ Sept. 14, 2012 ~ She's Running Up That Hill, After Her Cadillac Seville!
WELCOME TO TEAPOT TUESDAY
THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING TEAPARTY
AND CHALLENGE #215
SHE'S RUNNING UP THAT HILL
AFTER HER CADILLAC SEVILLE!
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion! Your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not at all required. Just have fun!
This is my story!
1. I have been thinking about how cool it would be to forget this imaginary teaparty stuff and have a real teaparty! Would that not be fun? I think SCS needs to come up with some sorta special SCS cardmaker time travel machine that we could all jump into on Tuesdays, hit a magic red button and end up at a place like this! Tea, cookies, teapotter camaraderie! A placed called Teapot Tuesday Teapotville!
2. However, don't you be thinking that all is well in Teapotville! Yes, the clouds are in the shape of hearts, the shrubs are strawbabies, raspbabies, and bluebabies! There is always a beautiful blue sky, the weather is perfect and the cookies are unlimited. And the ultimate draw? There are many, many places cookies can be hidden! Snort! The problem is, Cruella Deville has moved to Teapotville! After many a year, she promply moved here. She'd become worn out and tired, all the help that she'd hired, she had promptly just fired. They didn't do their job, they'd lost track of the mob, of black and white puppies who belonged to the yuppies! As she was sipping from her cup, she'd decided to give up! She thought.....the only thing for me, is a continual cup of hot tea! She's turned her attention from polka dotted pups to retirement, relaxation, tea pots and tea cups! This place call Teapotville is perfect for Cruella Deville!
3. But after a year, the town lives in fear! A hot cup of tea is no longer working, the town hides in fear and moves around lurking! They are painfully aware, she's pulling out her hair, from boredom, depression and just plain ole despair! Her mood is just fowl, kinda like Simon Cowell! Oh my! That noise was so shrill! It was Cruella Deville! She's running up that hill after her Cadillac Seville! Oh no! Sweet Mr. McGyver, her kind little driver, is no longer employed just like the gardener, Lloyd. Unemployment has begun to soar, the total is now 42,000 and 4! The town council must meet, hurry up, send a tweet! This meeting's called to order a little early in the quarter! The order of business on this fine Fall day is to come up with a way to end our dismay! What is that Tia? You have an idea? Cruella will be 67 on September 11! We gotta come up with some cash for a big birthday bash! All those in favor, say Aye. Those opposed, go blow your nose! Our plan won't be easy, it sorta makes me feel queasy!
4. That's the plan, Stan. Stan was the unfortunate poor soul who drew the short stick and now finds himself to be Teapotville's new party planner! He's short on experience but is up for the challenge. There is always a teaparty being held somewhere in Teapotville where there are those willing to share their expertise in the planning of parties! Happy Birthday Cruella! You're about to be happy!
Lots of good conversation ahead for us Teapotters! Share your favorite, most happy birthday! Your best birthday memory! What you did, what you got, how old you were, what made it special. Was it a party, was it a trip, were there balloons, what kind of cake? How many people were there? Who were they? Did you blow out some candles? Did your wish come true? Did your friends surprise you? Was it quiet with just two? Did your family come through?
If your favorite birthday memories had anything at all to do with black and white polka dotted dalmation puppies, you must come in the back door! Are you kidding me? So you want to take that chance? A word of of advice, you'd be better off bringing mice!
Option One ~ Make a birthday card using what you think makes a birthday special. Cake, confetti, candles and balloons, lots of presents, lots of friends, lots of fun!
Option Two ~ Make a card displaying in paper your memory of one of your fondest birthdays. It does not have to look like a birthday card but your commentary when you upload should explain a little about that birthday. Where you went, what you did, who you were with, you get the picture!
EPEC ~ (EXTRA POINTS FOR EXTRA COOKIES!)
All the extra cookies will probably be eaten at Cruella's birthday bash but as I mentioned before there are lots of wonderful hiding places for cookies in Teapot Tuesday Teapotville. So, no worries there, you get extra cookies for including a hand written (or typed) letter inside your card to the recipient of this week's DESTINATION STATION sharing your most fond memory of a birthday past! The hidden cookies are birthday cake cookies! Whoot!
EEPEC ~ (EXTRA EXTRA POINTS FOR EXTRA EXTRA COOKIES!)
It's a surprise! A surprise how to get extra, extra cookies! You can find out how to earn them when you read this week's post in the Destination Station thread! Whoot! It's easy and involves just three little words!
This week our destination is a Philadelphia, PA. If you would like a destination for your card this week, how about sending it to Eula! Eula is celebrating her 110th birthday on September 14th. This is the third birthday we have helped Eula to celebrate. She was originally brought to our attention in 2010 at age 108 by Lorraine (Pidgesmom). Lorraine has a friend (Jackie) who met Eula and became very good friends! Eula is an amazing women, she's colorful and fun!
To find out more as well as get the address to mail your card, please visit Post #314 in the Teapot Tuesday Destination Station thread. Please remember that just because you participate in a Teapot Tuesday challenge that is combined with a card drive request, it does not mean that you are REQUIRED to send your cards. It is totally 100% voluntary!
Be sure to you use KEYWORD MMTPT215 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!
Ever want to get a jump on next week's challenge card? SCS has given me permission to create an email Teapot Tuesday Cheater Group and email the challenge out on the Saturday before the Tuesday of the challenge so you girls can have the weekend to make your card. Send me a pm with your email address if you wanna be a Cheater!
If you are confused about these challenges, see the first sticky post of this thread for more information. There is also a directory of individual challenges. Feel free to grab this I survived Teapot Tuesday Badge for your blog!
Sorry that I uploaded early...was a mistake! : ( I also sent my card to Eula on Saturday, but that was NOT a mistake.) We have the worst mailman in the USPS system...no kidding. In the winter, I trudge across the frozen tundra, flashlight in hand at 6:30-7Pm to see if my mail has FINALLY been delivered. In other words, a day lost in mailing if something is in the mailbox to go out.
I did a very simple card for Eula focusing on her 110 years on earth. What a lifetime and what a storehouse of memories and changes. Love the theme of her celebration and chose to use it on my card.
We as people are raindrops of colorful ink , falling down Crisp and Clear, each a different shade more vibrant then the last, but once we realize at the bottom of an endless abyss we all fall into the same inkpot forming one color, only then can we come together as one My son.
Wow...the site is a little wonky this am.....finally got my card posted and will be back this eve to see all the others in the gallery....Thx Cindy for such a fun trip down memory lane....my card for Ms Eula
Challenges I participate in: Inspirational Challenge, Sketch Challenge, Inspirational Challenge, Free 4 All Challenge, Queen for the Day Challenge, Feature Stamper, Color Challenge, Ways to Use It, Try a New Technique and I am a proud Tea-Potter Challenge participant.
My birthday card for Eula ... I decided to s-t-r-e-t-c-h my celebration of her b.d., by sending my letter next week. I thought maybe after all the excitement of celebrating her 110th birthday has passed, she will have more time to read it ... and remember how great her b.d. was, the week before.
NOTE: I hope to get to the gallery to look and comment Thurs. or Fri. I'm getting ready for surgery next week and right now, I'm focusing on trying to keep up with the challenges. Thanks for understanding.
I know we were supposed to make a card that reflected our best birthday memory, but I don't think a 110 year old woman would want a Scooby Doo card...hehe. So I made this precious little card for Ms. Eula. I included a letter telling her about my best birthday memory. If you would like to read about my memory, check out my blog in about an hour. I'm fixin' to post it now.
Hello teapotters. I sent a card from my stash to Eula on Monday for her big Birthday Bash. I did not have time to participate in the challenge but I did want to send a card. Hopefully in a couple of months I will be able to play again with all you fun girls. I have discovered design teams are no longer for me-I need to finish out my commitments and get on with doing what "I" want to do. Funny, it was a dream for me to be on DT's-but now I find they are just holding me back...lol Thanks for listening.

I am extending the happiness by being late. What an amazing lady Miss Eula is! It is an honour and a privilege to send her a birthday card. Wish I had the opportunity to meet her, the stories she could tell.

I wanted to pop in briefly and say thank you for all the comments on my cards the last couple of teaparties. I'm having an issue with my lower back that makes me very uncomfortable no matter what position I'm in so haven't been able to go through the galleries to see all your beautiful creations and comment. Hope to get some resolution for it tomorrow. Everyone have a wonderful Sunday!!!
