This is my story!
1. April Showers bring May flowers! What showers? We may just have to bring our own flowers to insure Spring gets here. You know what they say, if you want something done right, do it yourself. Sometimes Mother Nature is just to busy to remember it all! So, even though this challenge is more about the critters that hang with flowers and what's important in their lives, we can still insure Spring for ourslves by bringing May flowers to the Teapot Tuesday gallery in April and without all the rain! Hey, whose says we can't one up Mother Nature in pure Teapot Tuesday style!!

It's a special time for Hummingbird Harry.
He must find a bride for its time that he marry.
His parents are firm, time to venture out on your own.
This day would soon come, they have always known.
The time it has come, the time to be kissed.
Just pick the right bride, on this they insist!
As Hummingbird Harry flies through the mist.
I know what I'll do, I make a wish list!
He makes a humming sound while he seems to mutter.
What kind of mate will make my heart flutter?
She has to be cute, she has to be tiny
And her wings, I know, they have to be shiny.
I love the look of a long flowing beak
Yah, that's it, that's what I must seek!
She should stay around the feeder to protect my food
and to accomplish that, she should have some attitude.
She should have wonderful color, her wings must be fast.
This marriage is important, I know it must last!
We'll go from flower to flower, and then to the feeder.
I can't do it alone, I know I will need her.
And at the end of the summer, we'll both fly away;
Mom and Dad will be proud on that wonderful day!
3. Oh brother! Geeze Louise! Talk about your picky male! She has to be tiny, she has to be fast, her wings must be shiny, this marraige should last! She has to be perfect, her color quite vivid and when his food is threatened, she has got to get livid! The perfect sized beak! This quy is a freek! Really? But, hey, the Teapotters have never been ones to turn down a challenge. When the going gets rough, the teapotters get going! He says, bring the perfect female hummingbird my way, we say, take your pick bud, 42,000 on their way!
4. We all know what brings hummingbirds to the party. Beautiful flowers, feeders filled with nectar, other hummingbirds, sweet smelling Spring! Now don't be worried 'bout nuttin', I realize not all of you teapotters are as fast as a hummingbird! I know not everyone one of you are gonna be able to catch one to bring to the party! So, to make things fair, there's a little challenge on the side. If you can't catch and bring your own hummingbird, bring something that will lure a fellow teapotter's hummingbird to your own card. Then nab him quick! Quick as a hummingbird! And again, don't be worrying about stuff! What happens at a teaparty, stays at a teaparty. I promise, no one at Splitcoast will know you are a hummingbird thief!
CHALLENGE TRANSLATION:
Bring a card with a hummingbird image. If you don't have a hummingbird image, bring those things that would entice a hummingbird to flutter about your porch! Flowers, a feeder, sweet smelling Spring!
Can't catch a hummingbird? If you bring a penquin because that's what you can catch, you gotta come in the back door.
EPEC: (Extra Points for Extra Cookies!)
You get extra points for extra cookies if you steal another teapotter's hummingbird! Snort! This is gonna be fun! Now I know I said that you should only steal another teapotter's hummingbird if you didn't bring one of your own, but hey, this is for extra cookies! So, even if you brought a hummingbird of your own, try to steal other teapotter's hummingbirds! You get extra points for extra cookies for being a hummingbird thief and stealing all kinds of hummingbirds!
A word of warning though.....you might have to give up one of your stolen and prized hummingbirds because at the end of the day, we are gonna have to give one (the one of his choice) to ole whatshisdoodle, Hummingbird Harry. I know it's a bummer, but we gotta give one to the hummer! Just so he can fly away at the end of the summer! Sometimes, Teapot Tuesday is just not fair!
DESTINATION STATION:
This week our destination is Palm City, Florida. If you would like a destination for your card this week, how about sending them to Barbara. Barbara is the mother of a friend of fellow teapotter Charlene
(cookiebaker). Barbara will be 85 years old on May 23rd and had to have open heart surgery this month Last Wednesday, the 4th, Barbara had her surgery which went well but it took a turn for the worse when the doctors punctured her lung while trying to insert a breathing tube.
