MMTPT187 ~ February 28, 2012 ~ A SEAGULL WENT TO A TEA, TEA, TEA
WELCOME TO TEAPOT TUESDAY
THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING TEAPARTY
AND CHALLENGE #187
A seagull went to a tea, tea, tea
To see what she could see, see, see...
She found some tea for free, free, free...
Time to send her back to the sea, sea, sea!
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion! Your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not at all required. Just have fun!
This is my story!
1. When I found this funny little teapot, I was so excited because it had the word tea printed on it! I thought, omg, it would be perfect for a teaparty! Duh! Its a teapot! No wonder it says Tea ! Sometimes I forget what a teapot is for! Sometimes I forget that people use teapots to serve tea. Sometimes I forget that a teapot is more than something just sitting on a shelf looking pretty in a room. Sometimes I forget that a teapot's purpose in life is more than posing for a teaparty, inspiring a story and modeling for a challenge! I pretty much don't worry anymore about forgetting! For instance, I forgot the point I was going to make about this teapot. So, on to Plan B........A story inspired by a cute little teapot posing for a teaparty, modeling for a challenge! I'm so glad there is always a Plan B to fall back on, you know, in case I forget the point I was gonna remember to make!
2. I think I remembered what I forgot! Seagulls! Don't they always look confused, unorganized, in a tizzy about one thing or another. Take for instance, a flock of geese, such smooth flyers, flying in a perfectly organized and well choreographed V shape. What's up with seagulls? It's like they are in panic mode 24/7, searching for something and never quite finding it! They're searching, searching, searching! Maybe for that new, trendy snack or drink!
3. Meet Little Lost Lola who was in search of some Cola. She got lost in mid-flight, when the day turned to night! She found a cute little shack, while trying to get back. Reminds her of the shore, she's misses home now, even more! Her plan at day break, for goodness sake, to find her way back to the sea, after she tries this thing called tea! Little Lost Lola no longer looks for that Cola! This thing call tea, made her forget about the sea! It's served hot or cold, she loves it, she's sold! Her life's so much easier! There are no other sea gulls competing for the tea, the tea is free and the snacks are all that!! She's decided to stay, leave this place? No way! As long as there is tea, forget that old sea!
4. Rut roh, Little Lost Lola is reeking havoc on the teaparty! Everytime she swoops down to get a drink, the fancy teapots and teacups are in jeopardy! She slides across the table when she lands and get her claws caught up in the fancy lace tablecloth! She has taken quite the liking to treats and can eat the equivalent of what 42,000 teapotters can! But, her latest newly discovered talent just might be the last straw! She has the uncanny ability to sniff out the newbie cookies! Even if where they were hidden was forgotten! Now you might think, that would be a *Good Thing* as maybe more newbies would actually get their newbie cookies! It could be! Except that Little Lost Lola tends to eat em up in just one fell swoop from the ceiling! This ole bird's gotta go!
A seagull went to a tea, tea, tea
To see what she could see, see, see...
She found some tea for free, free, free...
Time to send her back to the sea, sea, sea!
5. You guessed it! It's time for Lola to once again long for the sea! Homesick she must be! Bring sand castles, sea shells, seaside shacks, crabs, starfish, sand dollars, sea horses, breaking waves, seaside sunsets, soft breezes, sand and salt. The name of the game? Lola the Sea Gull is gone! Back to the sea, away from our tea!
CHALLENGE TRANSLATION:
Make a card using images of the sea!
EXTRA POINTS FOR EXTRA COOKIES (EPEC)
This week, two things bring extra points for extra cookies! The first? Bring other seagulls! The key here is that you just might bring the very seagull that Lola has a major crush on, from day one of her life! The second? Bring a yellow mustang car! Yep, you heard that right! It's what the seagull of her dream drives! A hot seagull in a hot car! The perfect plan to get a love sick seagull to follow her beau/her love, back to the sea!! Happy ending for you, happy ending for me!
CHALLENGE DESTINATION:
As many of you know, the last Tuesday of the month is usually Tickle a Teapotter week, where we send our cards to each other after a tickle drawing to determine who our cards go to. This week is just a little different in that we are all tickling the same teapotter. A teapotter that needs some love at a difficult time.
This week our destination is Beaufort, South Carolina. If you would like a destination for your card this week, how about sending them to a fellow teapotter, Robin (RJP111) Some of you may have noticed Robin's absense from the teaparties lately. On January 16th, Robin's husband, Ron, was killed in a freak accident. While mixing chemicals for model rockets, something exploded and after going into a deep shock, he lost his life. Fortunately, he did not suffer too bad.
For more information as well as Robin's address, please visit Post #274 in the Teapot Tuesday Destination Station thread. Please remember that just because you participate in a Teapot Tuesday challenge that is combined with a card drive request, it does not mean that you are REQUIRED to send your cards. It is totally 100% voluntary!
Here is my card. I uploaded some other pictures as well but will only link to one!
Be sure to you use KEYWORD MMTPT187 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!
Ever want to get a jump on next week's challenge card? SCS has given me permission to create an email Teapot Tuesday Cheater Group and email the challenge out on the Saturday before the Tuesday of the challenge so you girls can have the weekend to make your card. Send me a pm with your email address if you wanna be a Cheater!
If you are confused about these challenges, see the first sticky post of this thread for more information. There is also a directory of individual challenges. Feel free to grab this I survived Teapot Tuesday Badge for your blog!
AND NOW A TEAPOT TUESDAY BIRTHDAY TOAST
TO THIS WEEK'S BIRTHDAY GIRLS
(KEEP THOSE PINKY'S UP GIRLS!)
No burfdays this week? Weird!!! I thought for sure we would have someone born on February 29th. Think how cool that would be! A lot less burfdays than the rest of us. How often does February 29th come around? Not very often! Oh, wait a minute, less burfdays means less presents and cake! Okay, never mind! I am glad I wasn't born on February 29th!
As I'm typing this comment, I'm hoping it goes through. I have been having trouble with posting, and commenting at Split Coast, have no idea what is wrong.... sometimes my posts go through...sometimes not. I think I have Lydia stumped. So If I don't post on everyone's card you will know why.

Here's my card for Robin. It's in an envelope and ready to go into the mail. BTW, I get extra cookies -- there are sea gulls on my card PLUS a yellow Mustang!
This is so wonderful, I cannot express my appreciation enough! I have started to comment on the beautiful cards but it's time to leave for work now. I will finish this evening.
Thank you! I feel the love, even through my computer.
Hey Mudder........I'm home and so glad that I could make a card for one of our own...although it's such a sad situation. Lots of prayers coming your way, Robin.

Soni, you are right!
I have giggled at a lot of the cards and stories but I have also been deeply touched by all of them.
Aww..Sonja...what kind words! And Robin....I am so happy you are being cheered and touched! Doesn't get any better than that! I can't wait until you start getting some cards in person! Yay!
Robin,
I was so heartsick to hear about your husband. I totally understand the unexpectedness of a situation like this. I lost my first husband to murder in 1997. The not being able to say goodbye is the worst part. I pray God will wrap His arms around you and that you will feel His love for you all day every day. I am a good listener if you need to vent, a shoulder to cry on, or just talk. Take care.
You did it! Whoo hoo! Way to go Emily! I am so tickled you are here! I sent you a pm to let you know about the keywords.....Nothing is wrong.....you did good! Just need to enter the keywords on your upload so all the girls can see your card!

Aw...how thoughtful of you to be so determined to get a card out to Robin no matter how busy you are! I am sure she will be touched by your kindness in sending her a card, whether it was made by you or not! You go girl!!! Hang in there with your busy week.....we will look forward to seeing you at the teaparties when things slow down! Hugs!
Robin, my heart goes out to you. We are on holidays these past two weeks but as soon as i get home I'll make you a card. It will be late but full of love and prayers. I can't even imagine what you are going through, I get upset if my husband is even sick. We are more resilient than we even know and somehow pull through the worst situations.
Love Elizabeth
