MMTPT183 Xena’s from Antares - she’s marooned, it’s so scary!
Xena’s from Antares - she’s marooned, it’s so scary! With apologies to George Lucas, Gene Roddenberry and Steven Spielberg
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far, away...
A lone explorer from Antares 4 set out on a voyage
to seek out a group known only as the Tuesday Teapotters.
Her five year mission: to explore strange new techniques, to seek out
extra cookies and join in the fun, to boldly go where no paper crafter has gone before.
(hum theme song of your choice to yourself)
“You’ve never heard of Teapot Tuesday? … It’s the group that made the Kessel run in less than 42,000 parsecs.”
Xena traveled through the Milky Way and passed Canis Minor
through an asteroid belt she flew, the view was never finer.
Her celestial travels came to an abrupt halt
when she ran out of fuel - it wasn’t her fault.
Her shields buckled under the asteroid’s barrage.
Oh, if she could only find a spaceport to use as a garage.
A pesky old asteroid nicked her fuel tank
and the gauges in her cockpit all went blank.
Although Xena can’t phone home and feels all alone
we don’t want her to cry, panic or moan.
Her space ship just ran out of fuel
being marooned surely isn’t cool.
It’s a very tribbling state . . .
has that asteroid sealed Xena’s fate?
With only impulse engines to power her spacecraft
she came upon a group of gals who truly like to laugh.
Luckily she landed in Teapot Tuesday land
where life is quite exciting and never very bland.
Could it be, her dream come true?
She found the teaparty and Curt the cow too!
Lucky for her, we’re a talented and happy bunch
whose activities include cookies on which to munch.
“You don’t need to see their identification … These aren’t the cheaters you’re looking for … They can go about their business … Move along.”
Since alternative fuels are all the rage
let’s get together and help that fuel gauge.
On her home planet of Antares 4
they’re carefree beings who enjoy merrymaking galore.
You’ll laugh so hard you might fall on the floor.
Lightheartedness and mirth are converted into fuel
it’s a renewable source of energy, they’re no fools!
We’ll help her to get on her way
so make a teapotter laugh without delay! Do or do not, there is no try
We don’t want our alien friend to cry.
For every teapotter that gets tickled and snorts
Xena’s disposition gets less out of sorts.
With every hoot and holler or even just a snicker
A deposit in Xena’s fuel tank will get her home quicker.
So bring something funny, irreverent or cheeky.
Even if you bring a pun we won’t think you’re geeky.
“I suggest a new strategy, R2. Let the traveler in.” I want to come with you to the teaparty. There's nothing for me here now. I want to learn the ways of the Teapotters and become a papercrafter like Mudder. “The Force is strong with this one.”
If you bring something serious or a gloomy Gus
Don’t you even bother to get off the bus.
It’s no cookies for you and the back door, for sure!
We’ve seen the power of this type of fuel
it’s more precious than the rarest jewel.
It lifts a person’s spirits and sends gloom fleeing
to lift up a fellow alien or human being.
When Xena’s back on course
She’ll be at one with the force
With tales to tell of her teaparty fun
As she speeds back home past our Sun.
Challenge translation: send a card to a fellow teapotter that makes her laugh. Extra cookies if you bring an alien or spaceship. If you bring a tribble, you will get No cookies and be sent to Klingon where you'll only get Gak to eat. This is the craft of a teapotter. Not as clumsy or impersonal as an email; an elegant craft for a more civilized age. For over 42,000 generations, the teapotters were the guardians of Teapot Tuesdays in the Old Republic.
OK, I've said it before and I'll say it again!
I am such a dork.
I kept looking for this thread last night to post my card to tickle a teapotter. I didn't know I could post the challenge. I figured Mudder got into the stash of newbie cookies and was doing a taste test. I am so sorry this is so late.
Bwahaha! No worries Fran! Hey, where I am involved there is mass confusion! I thought you were doing it, you thought I was doing it! Snort! If things were not confused, I would not be involved! Giggle! No worries! Hey, it takes alot of time to travel to outer space, let's just say it took alota time to get here! Snort! And I heard some of the girls space ships broke down! AAA was not very prompt! Hee!
Fran, take care.....hope all goes well today with your jaw surgery! Yikes!!! Thanks for posting the challenge and so sorry I confused things! Bad Mothermark!
I love that teapot and the story! You all are so creative. I figured I didn't have a spaceship stamp, so didn't do a spaceship card. I am just not creative like you all. I love all your cards! But I hope I brought funny. Here is mine.

I think I'm confused too. Are we supposed to send the card to someone specific? Are you telling us who to send to?
Well I found no aliens hiding in my craft room so had to pull one from the net: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...&ppuser=153925

Don't be confused! Go to this thread http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/fo...s-t547177.html laugh yourself silly at all of the comments while we count, reply to the last post with your SCS name, real first name and the next number (that's the part we have trouble with). Mothermark will send you a splitcoast message after this weekend with a note as to who you send your card to. If she doesn't have your mailing address on her list, send it to her so you can receive your card from another teapotter. I promise you will be addicted and you might even get the Curt- Mutnik original (hope hope hope)!!
Janice
P.S. Mudder, can you edit your first post in the teapot thread to put in a link to the gallery? I now how to get there, but others might not.

I'll try to make it in from outer space later on this week, but I've been struggling with yet another bad cold and it's pretty much a case of work and bed and a couple of essential cards for imminent birthdays .
An amazing teapot and a wonderful story, Fran .
Oops! I am learning what needs to be done when guest hostesses host the challenge! We over looked the birthday girls and I wanted them to get their birthday wishes!
Here they are:
AND NOW A TEAPOT TUESDAY BIRTHDAY TOAST
TO THIS WEEK'S BIRTHDAY GIRLS
(KEEP THOSE PINKY'S UP GIRLS!)

Had this done in plenty of time, but was thinking that we weren't supposed to post or upload until after we sent our card, but guess I was wrong! Here's my card.
