MMTPT139 ~ OH MY GOSHA SASHA! A PROPOSAL FROM MCTIBBONS IS CONTINGENT UPON RIBBONS!
WELCOME TO TEAPOT TUESDAY
THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING TEAPARTY
AND CHALLENGE #139
OH MY GOSHA, SASHA!
A PROPOSAL FROM MCTIBBONS
IS CONTINGENT UPON RIBBONS!
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion! Your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not at all required. Just have fun!
This is my story!
1. Don't anyone be pouring tea into this little number! The longer I host Teapot Tuesday, the more amazed I am at the teapots to be found in the internet world of googling! I think I have googled for every imaginable teapot on the face of the earth! I found this cute little number while searching for girly girl teapots! Tee hee! How is this for a girly girl teapot? The only thing lacking is ribbon! Where's the ribbon?
2. When I think of ribbon, I think of numerous scenes in my all time favorite movie, Pride and Predjudice! One scene is when the sisters bump into Mr. Wickham, an Officer of the Militia, they purposely drop their lacey hankerchief and when he so kindly picks it up, they giggle and then all run off together to shop for ribbons to wear to the ball. On the way home, they are frollicking along in the meadow next to the river showing off their newly purchased ribbons to Mr. Bingley! With 5 women in the house, its no wonder that they need to quickly tidy up the parlor when the next day, Mr. Darcy and Mr. Bingley are walking up to the door with a possible proposal of marriage for Jane. Heaven forbide, their ribbons are sloppily laying about the parlor! Get the ribbons, the ribbons! Mary, get the ribbons!
3. Well, no self respecting woman can get a man without plenty of ribbons! And therein lies our dilema! There are several things working against us here! It's not enough that we cannot pour tea into our teapot and that it is very lacking in the fancy ribbon department, but oh my gosha, Satin E. Sasha has not one ribbon in her possession and Officer Rib N. McTibbons will be calling very soon! Everyone knows a proposal from McTibbons is contingent upon ribbons! Satin E. Sasha and Rib N. McTibbons just might be together if only there's ribbon! It's no fib that Rib takes to rantin' when he doesn't see satin! Oh my gosha, Sasha, where is your satin? It's no fib, that Rib is quite the pain, when there's not a bit of grosgrain! Oh my gosha Sasha, where is your grosgrain? It's no fib, that Rib can be such a fool, when he doesn't see Tulle! Oh my gosha Sasha, where is your Tulle? No organdy, taffeta, or chiffon? Oh my gosha, Sasha, there's none to try on?
4. Desperate times call for desperate measures! Lady Toodle Lou, you know what to do! Send word of a ball, to one and to all! An Organza Bonanza! Some fun for us all! Satin E. Sasha is throwing a ball, you're invited to come, if you do you'll get rum! Oh, what was I thinking, I meant to say tea! You're invited by me, if you come you'll get tea! Lady Toodle Lou is Satin's childhood friend, the one with a crush on Mr. Collins! But THAT is a whole nuther story to be saved for a nuther Teapot Tuesday! This teaparty is all about Satin E. Sasha and Officer Rib N. McTibbons, the guy that loves ribbons. Now don't be shocked and stomp on the floor, when you hear what you need to get in the door! Forget about your invite, its a ribbon you need, a ribbon to get in, a ribbon to be seen! It's ribbons for McTibbons, that's what we need! Oh my gosha, they are really for Sasha! To wear in her hair, to attach to her dress, to tie on her teapot, to showoff to McTibbons, I must confess! Bring what you may, can be anything, I dare say! But if you don't bring a ribbon, it will look like we're fibbin' when we say we are here to ease Satin's ribbonless fear! Oh my gosha, don't tell Sasha, that you've really just come for your share of the rum! Oh my gosha, Sasha, what got into me! I meant to say tea!
CHALLENGE TRANSLATION!
Make a girly girl feminine card with any image, maybe something fit for a ball? Or anything at all! But you MUST bring some ribbon, yes you must bring ribbon!
DESTINATION STATION #139
This week's destination is Mt. Vernon, Indiana. We will be sending our cards to fellow SCSer, Ashley Finical. Faith (Yabbadodo) brought Ashley and her family's situation to my attention. Ashley and her family's home was recently caught in a flood along with many member's of Ashley's community. Her basement housed many things, but quite importantly to a stamper, the fact that she stamped in her basement tells us the extent of her personal loss.
For more information including the mailing address please visit Post #200 in the Teapot Tuesday Destination Station thread, should you decide to send your challenge card to Ashley! Please remember that just because you participate in a Teapot Tuesday challenge that is combined with a card drive request, it does not mean that you are REQUIRED to send your cards. It is strictly voluntary.
Be sure to you use KEYWORD MMTPT139 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!
Ever want to get a jump on next week's challenge card? SCS has given me permission to create an email Teapot Tuesday Cheater Group and email the challenge out on the Friday before the Tuesday of the challenge so you girls can have the weekend to make your card. Send me a pm with your email address if you wanna be a Cheater! If you dont' want to cheat, I am posting a sneak peak on my blog each week showing you a glimpse of the following week's teapot as well as a hint of the story! It's at the end of the Teapot Tuesday Post each week. I usually post it sometimes during the weekend before the next Tuesday!
If you are confused about these challenges, see the first sticky post of this thread for more information. There is also a directory of individual challenges. Feel free to grab this I survived Teapot Tuesday Badge for your blog!
Hope Ashley receives LOTS of stampin' craft goodies. I'll be tucking some ribbons into my card to her. I hope she has some good home owner's insurance. It has to be devastating, nonetheless.
I am also sending stuff. I will be sending a stamp set. Sure hope this house sells soon or I will be unpacking some of my crates to access stamps and paper! It's frustrating when you know you have a certain stamp that would be perfect for a card but it's packed away. This was My last piece of polka dot paper.....oh well. I should quit complaining, at least my stuff wasn't in a flood and all I have to do is unpack it right? Here is my "Polka Dot Glory"
Oh this is going to be fun for Ashley and her Post Office. I was thinking her carrier would be bombarded with packages, but the "wall walkers" are going to get slammed. They are surely going to wonder "what's up"! Oh to be a fly on the wall when she picks up her mail for the next week...

Cindy, thanks so much for asking me to do a sample card, but I really feel I let you down with this one. Maybe I will get a chance to make another one to redeem myself.
There is nothing more fun in springtime then having a cup of ice tea and cookies at a picnic with your best friend while in the meadows picking flowers...while pretending with your fine pink polka dot felt t-pot and using plastic cups...:0)....here is my card...thanks for another great challenge my friend...MMTPT139, SPRINGSC11, A true friend by wendy2512 - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers
Here's my card with ribbon. She can unclip this and unwind it to use the ribbon, the cardstock backing, and the binder clip. I'll be adding more ribbon to the package as I am an admitted ribbon addict and have plenty to spare.

Silly girl! Your card rocks! You are too hard on yourself! As it is a wonderful sample card and a great addition to the challenge! Thanks for bringing Ashley to our attention!
I managed to sneak in a bit of card making - half of my supplies are still in the rv, the other half in my craft room - but have to keep it in tip top shape as we have guests and more coming for the day! (Once I start on cards it will no longer be tip top LOL!!!)
I certainly have plenty of items to share and will get some off in a few days.
I'm still armpit deep in wedding invites for friend but couldn't not do a card for Ashley....how sad....and put together a little package of goodies to share from my overstocked cupboard....good thing I was looking for some things to share with her, I'd forgotten all about this fun paper until then....
You ladies will have to forgive me, I'm a retired Postal worker. A wall walker is what we called the person that puts the mail into the PO boxes. They are on a wall, thus "wall walker". So when the boss said to go walk the wall, you would be the one putting the mail into the PO boxes!
What a great destination and so sad to think of someone losing all their stamping supplies! Here's MY CARD.

Looks like our little joke is revealed so now I can post the real card. Hope you enjoyed the joke Cindy. Thanks for those kind words that must have been difficult to find. I'm surprised you didn't take up a collection to send me away to a stamping class somewhere. Here is my real card "April's Fool".
Here's my real card. I had planned to make an April Fool's one, but ran out of time. I thought too much about this one and it took a long time. My style is more 'cute' rather than girly! tfl
