MMTPT192 ~ DESTINATION STATION

This week our destination is Toronto, Canada! If you would like a destination for your card this week, how about sending them to Alix, the daughter of a fellow SCSer/Teapotter, Elizabeth (I Love Rubber!) Alix needs some cheering up about now!

This week its all about the hills and valleys, ups and downs of life! Just about the time you think your life is going in the perfect direction, taking shape just the way you have always dreamed it to be, a bump in the road presents itself and you find you are off track, headed in a different direction, going to Plan B! That is what happened to Alix!

Alix had the life of her dreams, a wonderful marriage, a successful career, and a beautiful home. But, things can change in a heart beat and for Alix, they did! On New Year's Day she got a text message from her husband telling her he would be leaving. Yes, a text message! Happiness to broken hearted! But her education, career, love from her family and a little furry guy name Dexter, have all come through to get her past a very difficult time in her life. She and her husband have divorced and her beautiful home has been sold. This weekend she moved in to her new apartment. Her heart was broken by her husband's news and once again when she had to move out of the home she loved so much!

It's time for a little house warming teaparty girls! When Alix goes home after work, she will have some happy mail in her new mailbox to brighten her days. Fortunately, Alix is a successful attorney with a demanding job which is keeping her busy during the day and when she gets home, her little white, soft, fluffy, doggie named Dexter keeps her company at night. Alix is a girly girl and loves silver, black and pink! Alix loves English, clothes, Dexter, family, and is very sentimental. She has a killer sense of humour and enjoys a good time.

She loves cards and has been known to make one or two in her not very abundant free time! Elizabeth says Alix knows all about our teaparties and will be so excited and surprised when her brand new mailbox fills up with some teapotter love!

Here is her address:

Alexandra Berg
#1707 - 3 Michael Power Place
Etobicoke, Ontario
M9A 0A2

Thank you all so much! From me and from Elizabeth!

Heart MMTPT193 ~ DESTINATION STATION

MMTPT193 ~ DESTINATION STATION

DESTINATION STATION:

This week our destination is Palm City, Florida. If you would like a destination for your card this week, how about sending them to Barbara. Barbara is the mother of a friend of fellow teapotter Charlene (cookiebaker). Barbara will be 85 years old on May 23rd and had to have open heart surgery this month Last Wednesday, the 4th, Barbara had her surgery which went well but it took a turn for the worse when the doctors punctured her lung while trying to insert a breathing tube. On Thursday, they took Barbara back in for a second surgery to repair the damage done there and she has been in ICU ever since. The good news is she came through the second surgery like a trooper and the doctors referred to it as a miracle. She has come around, is looking about the room although she can't move her right leg due to a small stroke that she suffered along the way.

This challenge has been touch and go because we were not sure of the outcome of the surgeries but in speaking with Patty (Barbara's daughter) Charlene got the go ahead to feature Barbara as our destination as the doctors are very hopeful and they think Barbara will pull through this. Patty thinks our cards will be a huge encouragement to her mom and to her step-dad (Jack) as well. Patty says she will read every card her mom gets to her and will keep them in her room after she gets out of ICU. Fellow teapotter Charlene, has nic-named Barbara the "Steel Magnolia" as her desire to live has been quite apparent throughout this ordeal.

Barbara is orginally from N. Carolina and loves dogwoods and hummingbirds. She's just a sweet southern "lady". She loves to laugh and she also loves cards! She has been known to say that for every gift occasion, she'd would rather have a card than a gift.

Here is the address to mail your cards to:

Barbara Bryan
1924 SW St. Andrews Dr.
Palm City, FL 34490

Thank you all from me and thank you from Charlene and Patty!

UPDATE: Sadly, Barbara has passed away. Please do no send any more cards to Barbara. If you wish to send a sympathy card to the Bryan Family, you may use the same address. Thank you.

MMTPT194 ~ DESTINATION STATION

This week our destination is Hyde Park, New York! If you would like a destination for your card this week, how about sending it to Charles. Charles is the husband of fellow Teapotter/SCSer Rosalia (JustMe427). (I think her screen name might be a Ham Radio Code!) Charles was recently diagnosed with cancer and underwent surgery on Thursday, April 12th. Charles needs some extra support and warm fuzzies at this time, from people he doesn't even know and here is why......

Charles is one of 9 children and the first boy after 6 girls. Now you would think, as is the case so often in big families, that when little brother is diagnosed with cancer and undergoes surgery, he would be supported and loved by his mother and siblings. That is not the case with Charles. He won't get a card, a phone call, and his family won't even give this a second thought.

When his father died, Charles was expected to take his father's place in the family and give up his future and his ideas of what his own life should be. He was the one who was supposed to stay behind, never marry, never have his own family. He was supposed to always be available for his mom and sisters and for quite some time he fulfilled that role. He was the one who everyone called when they needed something fixed or wanted to borrow money. Things quickly changed when Charles got engaged, married, and had his own family. After that, he was no longer acknowledged in his own family, he was the lowest of the low and his children were alienated and ignored. Understandably this has made him very sad and angry as he feels no love, he only feels used by his siblings and mother. Last year he ended up in ER and had to have gall bladder surgery - he told his family but no one acknowledged him, sent a card or called to wish him well. The good news is, Charles has the support of his wife, Rosalia and his two daughters, Maryetta and Lia! And we are here to prove to him that there are others that care about him as well, complete strangers from all around the world. People that care enough to send him good wishes, support and some teapotter love through the mail! With no strings attached!

Charles recently just got his Ham Radio Operator's license! He's a Ham Radio guy! He is a fix it kinda guy and he has a purple belt in Tae Kwon Do. He is a machinist and enjoys making things. The parts he works on goes into everything from medical equipment to stuff for the government including missiles and submarines. One time Rosalia was going in for a medical procedure and he said to her....

"We make parts for machines that do that, let me know if it is a such and such machine!" Ha ha! Ya, right, like that was gonna happen! Rosalia had her eyes closed the whole time! Bwahaha!

Here is where to send your teapotter love and support to Charles to:

Charles Henry
30 Patricia Lane
Hyde Park, New York 12538

Thank you from me, Rosalia, Maryetta and Lia!

MMTPT196 ~ DESTINATION STATION

This week our destination is Auckland, New Zealand! If you would like a destination for your card this week, how about sending them to Eva! Eva's story came to us by way fellow Teapotter Kim (crazykim). Eva is a sweet, young, little girl that has the sort of health problems that an adult could not deal with it!

Baby Eva Mitchell is 4 years old and lives at Auckland's Children's Hospital full time. Eva was born with a large hole in her left diaphragm and was unable to develop internally. She was given a very slim chance of surviving at birth, but has beaten the odds more times than anyone can count. Full ecmo life support, strokes causing weakness on her left side, bad chronic lung disease, living on oxygen, stomach and bowel do not function, gastrointestinal failure and she is fed into her blood stream which makes her a sick little girl who battles every single day!! She has lived in Auckland's Children's Hospital most of her life but since being admitted in May of 2009, she has only had 5 hours at home. She teaches us to cherish life, to take everyday as it comes and to run with it because life is precious.

Eva has a facebook page where you can see lots of photos of her and follow her story. In the photo attached, Eva in pink and her big sister Mela (age 6) is with her. Eva's favorite color is purple although she also loves pink. She is a big Dora the Explorer fan and likes Makeup Mouse too. She wants to be a nurse when she grows up and she loves to play doctors. Her mom is Tiff and Dad is Joel.

Eva will be thrilled to get some pretty mail. Feel free to also send her sister Mela a card if you so desire. It would be really fun if you could include some fun childlike images for the girls to color while they are spending time together in the hospital. Punched shapes might be fun as well.

The cards will be sent to a friend of the family, who will deliver them to Eva at the hospital!

Here is the address:

Eva Mitchell
24 Platina Street,
Remuera, Auckland,
New Zealand, 1050

Thank you from Kim and thank you from me!

MMTPT197 ~ DESTINATION STATION

This week our destination is Stockton, New Jersey. If you would like a destination for your card this week, how about sending them to Alan and Ellen! Alan is the brother of fellow Teapotter Marie (momof5sons) and Ellen is his new bride. Alan and Ellen could use a little happy mail to celebrate their recent marriage. Due to some health issues that have suddenly come up with Alan, their marriage is starting out with some worry and concern! We are here to bring them back to the celebration of their recent marriage!

A little more information:

The marriage.....

Alan and his girlfriend of 15 years decided to get married. Both of them had been badly burned by first spouses and their financial situation was complicated. They knew they should be together, were wonderful together, and simply decided that there was more drawing them together than there was holding them back! They "eloped" and were married with only their grown children in attendance.

The worry and concern......

Alan is 51 years old and suddenly began having horrible pain. After many tests he was told that he had a mass in his bladder and had it removed by a surgeon he felt confident in. The good news was they got it all and it was unstaged (less than Stage 1). Everyone was elated and happy!

Fortunately, Alan had previously made an appointment with a specialist at the University of Pennsylvania for a second opinion. And after his surgery, he decided to keep that appointment. When he went to Penn, the specialist said that while the staging may have been accurate, the procedure and assessment were incomplete. The rest of his urinary tract were never scanned nor biopsied, leaving the possibility that more growths were present. His bladder should have been seeded with chemo at the time of or within 24 hours of the procedure to prevent surgical related tumor cell migration or invasive growth. More biopsies of the bladder should have been collected. There was also a small mass found in Alan's prostate. The most recent update on Alan is that a second kind of cancer has been found and he will be having a bone scan next week that will determine his treatment options.

A word from Marie......

I would like to request a tea party, not focusing on the problems, but on the joy of their marriage. Though it is always hard for me to ask for anything for myself, (crying here as I type this) I would like the teapotters to consider making wedding cards for Alan and Ellen.

Alan is 2 years and five months younger than me. The day he was born is one of my earliest memories - I still remember how happy I was to have a baby brother. I guess I am still a bit protective of him, and want only the best for him. I guess that is why I am coming to you and the teapotters...

If I could pass one bit of wisdom, especially for young and very complicated cases, always get a second opinion with the best specialist that you can. Even if it is quite a distance or involves hardship. You simply cannot undo a bad or incomplete diagnosis that leads you down the wrong path.

Despite Alan's health issues, our cards will bring he and Ellen back to the happiness of their marriage after 15 years of being together. Red is one of Alan's favorite colors and green is Ellen's favorite color. The white is for their wedding!

Please also keep Alan in your thoughts and prayers as he goes through the next set of tests......

Here is the address: Ellen is keeping her name for professional reasons.

Alan Johnson & Ellen McShane
64 Bowne Station Rd.
Stockton, NJ 08559

Thank you all from me and thank you from Marie.

This week our destination is London, Ontario, Canada. If you would like a destination for your card, how about sending it to Gypsy! Gypsy's story has been brought to our attention by fellow Teapotter Charlene (crystaldolphins). Gypsy has some pretty serious health issues which have resulted in his being confined to a wheelchair. Gypsy's real name is Alicide but his nicname is ‘Gypsy’. He lives in a long-term care facility in London, Ontario Canada, is challenged with his health, and unfortunately is confined to a wheelchair. He doesn’t have any family.

Charlene does not know Gypsy personally but found out about him through a good friend of hers who is assisting him with some difficult issues he is facing at this time. When she asked her friend how she felt about the Teapotters having a teaparty in honor of Gypsy, she was so touched! Gypsy will be so thrilled to receive your cards, and any messages or thoughts written inside! With no family, he will enjoy the support and attention from the teapotters. It will be like having a big ole family living all around the world offering their support and brightening his days!

Charlene has already sent him a couple of her own cards and has included enclosures of scripture that can be removed. She knows he will read and re-read any cards sent to him. Gypsy is very religious, has a very strong faith so scripture included would be appropriate and appreciated. If you do include a message please use a large font if typewritten or try to maybe print your hand written message.

Gypsy once enjoyed going to flea markets, loves hockey and wrestling as well as mechanical ‘stuff’ – specifically classic cars. He also loves food! Sadly, due to a situation with his wheelchair, he is unable to go outdoors. Let's bring the outdoors inside for Gypsy and while we are at it, let's bring some wonderful picnic food!

Feel free to address the inside of your card to Gypsy, but please address the envelope in his actual name. Here is the address:

Alicide Mailloux
Marion Villa LT Care Facility
Rm 209B
P.O. Box 5777, Stn B
200 College Ave.
London, ON
N6A 4V2
Canada

Thank you all from me and thank you from Charlene.

Hi mothermark (Cindy?)
i keep reading the posts and i kinda feel like i'm reading english but my brain is processing the words in a different language LOL. i can't seem to find a picture of your teapot and i don't understand "and here's my story"
do you make up the stories to motivate us to use our imagination? i can't seem to understand the concept. i think i will need some remedial work! the way i understand it is------you send the teapotters a picture of a teapot to inspire us to make a card. you also give us the address of a person who needs a little pick me up mail. so if i have it at least half right, i would gladly participate to send cards. if i am clueless, just HELP!

Hi there!

Don't feel bad Debbee...it can be sorta confusing. I got your pm and I send you the cheater email which is basically the challenge that will be posted next Monday night for Tuesday's Teapot Tuesday challenge.

Okay...now.....

the story is just for fun, yes, its to inspire you and it usually sorta revolves around what the recipient for the cards that week likes. Each week I do name a recipient to send the cards to and not only is that information included in the cheater email but its always also posted right her in this destination station thread.

Now, the challenge itself is always listed in the Teapot Tuesday Form and will have a number like this attached to it. MMTPT199......MMTPT199 is the challenge that will be posted by me Monday night. There is always a challenge translation section listed which basically lists what the requirements for the challenge are.....but please know we don't have hard and fast rules....just read the story and the destination station part and be inspired to make a card. Sending your card to the recipient is not a requirement if you have someone else you are making your card for. When you make a card and upload it to your gallery make sure you use the keywords every week.....that is the MMTPT199...it changes each week...the following week will be MMTPT200 and so forth.

Now as far as the teapot.....it is attached down at the bottom of the challenge that I post each week. You can click on it and open it up in a bigger view. I also emailed you a picture of it along with the challeng as it will be posted when you signed up to be a cheater.

Everything you need is always in the Teapot Tuesday forum....Oh, one more thing. When I upload my card each week, I also upload a picture of the teapot to my gallery so in the challenge gallery for each week you can also see the teapot there.

Hope this makes better sense now...it is sorta confusing....

just be inspired by the teapot, the story, and of course the destination for the cards!

Hugs....
Cindy

Heart MMTPT199 ~ DESTINATION STATION

MMTPT199 ~ DESTINATION STATION

This week our destination is Athens, Alabama. If you would like a destination for your card, how about sending it to Rebekah. Rebekah is the 12 year old daughter of fellow Teapotter Mary (#1 Volunteer). On April 9th, Rebekah celebrated her 12th birthday in the hospital. Now your first thought would be that Rebekah had some health issues that landed her in the hospital, but it was actually her mom that was hospitalized.

Fellow Teapotter Mary lives with Lupus and RA. She struggles with unbearable pain and the ups and downs of her health issues. She has a difficult time coming to our teaparties on a regular basis but her heart is with us. Mary is only 48 years old and in April, while walking down a hall way at work, her hip broke. She had been in an extreme pain leading up to that happening and just thought the pain was due to her medical condition. But actually, she had been walking on a stress fracture for about 3 weeks and didn't even know it. Mary sat on the floor in the hallway at work in pain for an entire hour before someone discovered her and called the ambulance. She immediately had hip surgery. Mary's husband was on a plane back from Detroit without cell service so he was pretty freaked out when he landed and took the call.

Now you know how mom's are! It's not about Mary, her Lupus, her RA or even her emergency surgery for her broken hip! In Mary's eyes, it was all about her daughter Rebekah whose birthday party that week had to be cancelled. And to make matters worse, it was Spring break and Mary and her daughter had so many fun things planned! But as so often happens, that's not what life brought. Rebekah spent Spring break in the hospital with her mom and didn't have her much anticipated birthday party with her friends. Mary apologized to her for ruining all their plans to spend time together and Rebekah's reply was “Momma, you said we were going to spend time together this week. We ARE spending time together, it's all good!”

Well, you all know, the Teapotters can throw one heck of a birthday party via the mail! Let's celebrate the birthday of a little 12 year old who enjoys spending time with her mother, no matter where it might be! Rebekah loves cats and has two of her very own. You guessed it, their names are Fuzzy Butt and Tiger! The picture attached is Rebekah and Fuzzy Butt! Snort!

Here is the address:

Rebekah Rager
8996 Holt Springer Rd.
Athens, AL 35611

Thank you all from Mary and me!

To accomplish that I have started this new thread (Tickle a Teapotter ~ Mudder, Mudder, How Does Your Garden Grow?) in the Teapot Tuesday Challenge Forum. If you are participating in the card exchange please go to this thread and follow the instructions.

Important:
If you choose to participate, please mail your card shortly after you have received word (a pm) from me regarding who you are tickling! Everyone is excited and looking forward to getting their card! If for some reason you cannot get your card off in the mail or will be really late in sending it, please let me or the person you are tickling know.

When you receive your card from a Fellow Teapotter, please send a pm to that person so they know their card has been received! Just a little Teapot Tuesday Tickle a Teapotter Etiquette!

MMTPT201 ~ DESTINATION STATION

This week our destination is Clinton TWP, Michigan. If you would like a destination for your card, how about sending it to Cory. Cory is the son of a friend of fellow teapotter Sugar (redcaboose1717). Cory is 20 years old and has suffered with medical problems throughout his entire life. He was born with Microcephaly (small brain) and he also has Hydrocephalus (water on the brain) and due to the Hydrocephalus he has undergone many, many brain surgeries better known as shunt revisions. Cory also has battled non-hodgkins lynphoma, and had several chemo treatments. He is now in remission.

Cory's resilient mom and Sugar's friend, Janet has cared for Cory as a single parent since her divorced years ago. Janet works for a local Michigan retailer, and when she's not working, she spends hours making Cory's life as special as she can.

Some of you may recall the effort we made in voting in an on-line contest in hopes of helping Janet and Corey win a new handicapped van. Our votes were so appreciated but the van was awarded to another. The good news is, Janet was able to find help elsewhere and her transportation problem has been resolved at this time which is a huge relief to her! Having that issue resolved, what fun for Corey have some friends in vans and busses arrive in his mailbox!

Cory does attend school when he can. He loves, loves, loves the following:

Scooby Do (his all time favorite)
Thomas The Train
Toy Story
Garfield the CAT

Here is the address to mail you cards to:

Cory Robertson
38557 Wellington Dr.
Clinton TWP, MI 48036

Thank you all from Sugar and me!

UPDATE: Sadly, Cory has passed away. Please do no send any more cards to Cory. If you wish to send a sympathy card to the his mother, Janet, you may use the same address. Thank you.

MMTPT202 ~ DESTINATION STATION:

This week our destination is Hickory, North Carolina. If you would like a destination for your card, how about sending it to Regina. Regina is the sister in law of fellow SCSer Sherry (SoSherry). Regina is going through a very, very difficult time. She is saddened, depressed and filled with worry. If ever there was a person who needs some happy mail to get their mind off their current situation, it is Regina.

Regina is 55 years old. She won her battle with breast cancer in her early 30's but the chemo has caused osteoporosis in her late 40's. She took a few falls because of weak bones and ended up breaking her hip. She has had 8 surgeries to replace the hip with no success. Her body is in very very bad shape from so many surgeries in the exact same location. She has been in a hospital or nursing home for most of the past 2 years and is now at home until the next surgery. She is bedridden because her hip has not been replaced and she cannot get around. She has a MRSA infection in the joint which can be deadly. They cannot replace the hip until the infection is gone. Her blood counts are slowly getting better so there is hope for another and final surgery. If it does not continue to improve over the next 2 or 3 months, she will have to have her leg amputated. She is very very depressed and cries everyday. She has a tendency to take too many of her pain meds which leads to more problems. She will never walk without a cane or walker. She has a very long road ahead of her.

Regina loves flowers and butterflies!
Regina loves elegant!
Regina loves white puppies!

Here is the address to mail your card to:

Regina Link
308 41st Ave Place NW
Hickory, NC 28601

Thank you from Sherry and thank you from me!

MMTPT203 ~ DESTINATION STATION

This week our destination is Brook Park, Minnesota. If you would like a destination for your card, how about sending it to fellow SCSer Vikki (Vikkijo.) Vikkijo's story was brought to us by Ina (yellowrose46) and Rita (scootsv). Vikkijo is the Moderator of the Christmas Card challenge here at SCS and is very encouraging and inspirational to those who work hard all year to get their Christmas cards done ahead of time! Vikkijo needs a little cheering up from her fellow SCSer's at this time.

Vikkijo has been struggling with severe pain due to some damage in her arm. She has been to many doctors, had surgery and nothing seems to help. She had another surgery on June 8th. It has been a difficult time for her and she's a little down not being able to continue on with her normal activities, making hand made cards, keeping up with all that she does at SCS and also, working in her gardens!

Here is a little information about Vikki Jo.

Vikki Jo has been collecting miniatures for a long time. It started with (get this!) miniature tea sets and she has many of them now. Then she also started collecting miniature trucks, tractors and excavating machines. They are about the size of a quarter and all have moving parts. Vikki also loves her critters which include a pygmy goat called Zeus, three (guard) geese called Tony, Orlando, and Dawn, 2 Hermit crabs called Dave and Dianne, a beagle called Joker, her husband's puppy called Cheyenne who is part boxer, part lab, and numerous cats including Cloe a 16 year old rescue cat, Tommy, the biggest cat and Spook, the smallest cat (but the most trouble) and Wilbur and quite possible there are more. There is also a Louie in there somewhere! She also loves flowers and gardening, which she has been unable to do this spring.

Vikkijo is worried about her own Christmas cards not getting done due to her health problems. Thus, the extra extra points for extra extra cookies! If you make a Christmas critter card for Vikki just make sure it is blank inside so she can send it to family or friend this coming Christmas!

Here is the address to mail your cards:

Vikki Jo Selix,
11308 Birch Bark Road
Brook Park, Minnesota 55007

Thank you from me, Ina and Rita!

This week our destination is Stamford, Connecticut . If you would like a destination for your card, how about sending it to Troy. Troy was brought to our attention by fellow SCSer/Teapotter Fran (philsmom). Troy is a police officer and was involved in a very serious accident while on the job.

Troy is a Police Officer in Fran's home state, the City of Stamford, Connecticut. In mid-May, Officer Strauser was critically injured after falling more than twenty feet from a bridge abutment during a foot pursuit of a robbery suspect. He landed on a guardrail and ended up face down on the pavement after the fall. He underwent 3 surgeries in less than 18 hours & spent seven days in the ICU. You can read more about his accident here.

Troy is a graduate of Penn State, loves baseball, is married and has three small children. Let's show our appreciation for Officer Strauser putting his life on the line day in and day out to protect those in is community.

Please note: It is still not certain whether Officer Strauser will ever be able to return to the force, so please keep that in mind when you write notes on the inside of the card. Thank you.

Here is the address to send your card to:

City of Stamford P.D.
P.O. Troy Strauser
805 Bedford Street
Stamford, CT 06905

Thank you from Fran and thank you from me!

This week our destination McAlester, Oklahoma. If you would like a destination for your card this week, how about sending them to Heath. Heath is the nephew of fellow teapotter Mary (redi2stamp). Heath was injured in an accident while working on railroad equipment on a military base in Missouri. That accident resulted in one person dead and three injured. Heath had to be extracted from the wreckage by jaws of life and life flighted to Springfield Mo. He sustained many very serious injuries including crushed ribs, a collapsed lung, a broken neck and back injuries as well.

Heath is in his mid thirties, he loves the outdoors, loves deer hunting, fishing and his church life is very important to him. He is very interested in two breeds of dogs, the English American Coon Hound and the Bluetick Coon Hound. Heath is married with two children, the oldest is 16. He is home now with home health care and in great spirits, praising and thanking God. Let's send Heath some encouragement and well wishes. He is a good Christian man so Christian cards would be welcomed and he works on the railroad so cards with trains might also be appropriate.

Here is the address to mail your cards to:

Heath Broome
717 Broome Rd
McAlester, OK 74501

Thank you from Mary, Marie, and me!

This week our destination is Oregon City, Oregon. If you would like a destination for your card this week, how about sending it to Alex? Alex is the 17 year old daughter of a very good freind of fellow Teapotter Roseanne (sumtoy) that is having some pretty serious health issues right now instead of getting ready for her senior year in high school! See a picture of Alex attached here.. The second one is Alex with her brother, he took her to prom!

Alex has chrones so she is diet challenged and very small. She has lots of abdominal issues. Recently she fell down the stairs at home, got up and just attributed it to being a clutz. By mid day at school she was having some numbness and tingling in her leg and arm on the right side. They took her to the local childrens hospital and after numerous tests, took her in for brain surgery. She had a massive infection probably caused from eating contaminated salad in the bag from a local store (according the the health department--listeria). For those of you who have Facebook pages, below is a link to a video where you can see Alex walking without a walker for the first time while in rehab after her surgery. Alex has continued to have problems due to crohns flare-ups, bleeding in her stomach and the fact that the antibiotics don't seem to work on the infection in her brain. She also is not allowed to take her crohns meds while she fights this infection.

Alex loves giraffes, she is a cheerleader and getting ready for her senior year of high school.

I don't do Facebook so I am confused about this link but maybe its because you have to sign in to view it.....

Here is the link to the video.

Here is a link to Alex's mom's facebook page.

Here is the address to mail your card to:

Alex M. Hartzell
14132 Canyon Ridge Cir
Oregon City, OR 97045-9052

Thank you from Roseanne and thank you from me!

This week our destination is Ontario, Canada. If you would like a destination for your card, how about sending it to Sol. Sol was brought to our attention by Charlene Crystaldolphins . Sol is the good friend of previous teaparty recipient Gypsy. Click here for that teaparty MMTPT198. Sol has minimal family who never get to visit and he is in need of some happy mail.

When Gypsy received our cards he was kind enough to share the experience with his good friend, Sol. They both thoroughly enjoyed opening Gypsy's mail and sharing the cards together. So naturally, at that time, it was decided that we needed to have a teaparty for Sol as well. The timing for our teaparty is perfect. Very recently, Sol and Gypsy were quarantined to their floor for 2 weeks as there had been an outbreak of the flu. To top that off, temperatures have been close to 100 degrees for weeks, with minimal relief, and there is no a/c on their floor. Sol is also dealing with some health issues so he will be most appreciative of any cards that are sent.

So, once again our cards will give Sol something to look forward to and you can bet he will be sharing his teaparty with his buddy, Gypsy. We have received word that they are both very appreciative of our cards. Gypsy had to ask for another photo box for all his happy mail!

It would be helpful if you use large letters when writing a note to Sol. Here is the address to mail your card to:

Sol Khamo
Marion Villa LT Care Facility
Rm Y211A
P.O. Box 5777, Stn B
200 College Ave.
London, ON
N6A 4V2

Thank you from Sheri, Charlene, and thank you from me!

This week our destination is Aurora, Colorado. If you would like a destination for your card, how about sending it to Laura. Laura was brought to our attention by fellow Teapotter Susie (paperpunchscissors). Laura was crossing light rail tracks while listening to music through ear buds. She stopped and waited for a train to pass not hearing the train approaching from the opposite side. She was hit by the train. She sustained a traumatic brain injury, subsequently suffered a stroke and pneumonia.

For more info on Laura watch this newscast.

When Laura was growing up she went on cruises with her parents and grandparents. Laura's first cousins came along too. All girly-girls to the core, they loved to dress up and attend parties. I have attached a picture of Laura and another of her and her brother when they were in High School on one of the cruises......

Here is the address to send your card to:

This week our destination is Champaign, IL. If you would like a destination for your card, how about sending it to James. James was brought to our attention by fellow Teapotter Grace (Katlady2). James is the son of Grace's daughter's long-time friend.

A few months ago, James was complaining of headaches. His mom took him to the doctor and was told nothing was wrong, but kept persisting and found out James had a tumor on his cervical spine. It has been a rough few months because Heather has had to travel to the children's hospital in St. Louis with him for his treatments. During one of the trips, it was determined James had another tumor on his lower spine and also in his brain. The good news is that he is responding to treatments and the tumor in his neck has shrunk and is all but gone. The other tumor has shrunk and the one in the brain has stayed about the same.

James loves pirates! Let's put a little bright spot in Jame's life right now with a boatload of pirates and the like!

Here is the link to James' Caring Bridge Page. Hope you have a chance to read some of the journal entries sharing his progress.

Here is the Heather's address to mail your card to:

Thank you from Grace (katlady2), Jodi (Grace's dd), Heather (James' mom), Rosalia (justme427) and me!

MMTPT212 ~ DESTINATION STATION

This week our destination is Greenville, South Carolina. If you would like a destination for your card, how about sending it to Tyler. Tyler was brought to our attention by fellow SCSer, Caterina (caterinafmig). Tyler is a very sweet 11 year old boy who currently is in remission from Rhabdomyosarcoma, childhood cancer, however this has caused many serious problems.

Tyler's medical problems all started during Christmas 2002 when he fell on a toy and scratched his jaw. It became very swollen and when treated, sarcoma was found. Since then Tyler has had 53 surgeries. A doctor at Johns Hopkins has been doing the surgeries without any payment. Sadly, Tyler will be facing more surgery to once again have jaw reconstruction but must first get a virus in his system in order to use his dad's bone for transplant. Tyler must travel from his home in South Carolina to Maryland often, and in fact, he will be traveling to John Hopkins next month.

Tyler loves, loves, loves getting mail. He has been really struggling lately with depression because of all the pain he is in. His grandmother, Darlene Cox says he loves strawberry shakes and when Caterina visited him several months ago, she brought him one. He likes water guns, movies and typical boy stuff. Tyler is especially enjoying his IPad that was given to him by one of his 'angels.

Tyler's family continually is fund raising for Tyler's travelling expenses. How wonderful that his family has found a compassionate and caring doctor who will perform his surgeries at no cost. The travelling back and forth is expensive. If you are able, a $1.00 bill framed in some way on your card would help fund Tyler's upcoming trip! Not required, not expected. Just a little donation request on the side....

Here is Tyler's website with much more information as well as pictures of Tyler and updates. Here is the address to mail your card to:

Tyler Tucker
P.O. Box 14386
Greenville, SC 29610-4386

Thank you from Caterina (caterinafmig), Darlene (Tyler's Grandma), and me!

This week our destination is Ransom, PA. If you would like a destination for your card, how about sending it to Brenda? Brenda was brought to our attention by Fellow SCSer/Teapotter Emily (scrappinmama72inpa.) Brenda could use a little happy mail these days as she is recovering from a very serious accident.

Brenda was on her way to the grocery store with her son when they were struck head on by another car that came into their lane. Her son was not hurt, but Brenda received multiple injuries. They weren't sure she was actually going to make it. But, she surprised all the doctors with her will and determination. Brenda is now is rehab. It is going to be a good long while before she is able to come home. She is eating on her own and can talk, but walking is still an issue.

Brenda is a Christian woman and she likes flowers and butterflies. Let's fill her mailbox with some Teapot Tuesday Teapotter love and give her a little something to look forward to each day with our flowers and flutters!

Here is the address to mail your cards to:

Emily Thubbron
for Brenda
P.O. Box 94
Ransom, PA 18653

Thank you from Fran (philsmom), Emily (scrappinmama72inpa) and me!

MMTPT215 ~ DESTINATION STATION

This week our destination is a Philadelphia, PA. If you would like a destination for your card this week, how about sending it to Eula! Eula is celebrating her 110th birthday on September 14th. This is the third birthday we have helped Eula to celebrate. She was originally brought to our attention in 2010 at age 108 by Lorraine (Pidgesmom). Lorraine has a friend (Jackie) who met Eula and became very good friends! Eula is an amazing women, she's colorful and fun! Let's make Eula's 110th birthday a beautiful thing by sending her our wonderful cards!

If you have come to Eula's birthday teaparty the past two years, you will know that Eula is a major people person! She loves, loves, loves to share the happenings of her life and she loves, loves, loves to hear about the happenings of the lives of others. She always sends us a little note of thanks and she enjoys each and every card, savoring what is written inside, enjoying the hand crafted master pieces! She loves the adventure of life and has been known to say, after telling a story........."What An Adventure!"

Here is her thank you after her 108th birthday teaparty.
Here is her thank you after her 109th birthday teaparty.

Once again, if you plan to send your card to Eula, there is a little homework assignment. If you can, take the time to enclose a little letter addressed to her sharing your very favorite birthday. Nothing elaborate, maybe you can just explain why you designed her birthday card they way you did, what story you were telling about your own favorite birthday, what you liked about it. She would love to read lots of letters from her stamping friends from EVERYWHERE around the word! As Eula would say.....

What an Adventure!

You get extra extra cookies if you write *What An Adventure* at the bottom of your letter to Eula! Easy Peasy!

We are celebrating 110 years of Eula by sending her our favorite birthday memories. Attached here is a picture of Eula with her cards on her 108 birthday.

Here is Eula's address:

Mrs. Eula Cousins
Cathedral Village
600 E. Cathedral Road
Philadelphia, PA 19128

Thank you everyone!! Thank you Lorraine and Jackie!

An Update!

I just received this update from Lorraine! Something very special is happening this year in Philadelphia to honor Eula's 110 birthday! Here is an email to Lorraine about the birthday plans...

Hi Lorraine!

Just spoke to Mrs Cousins and Mr Polk who is chair of the party committee. Thought I would write as I have a little but more information about what is planned. It seems they are pulling out all the stops for this party. There will be over 500 people attending and a program to celebrate her life. The press will be there and the mayor is speaking. They also are trying to get Michelle Obama to call in with greetings. I already have the birthday greetings from the Obamas to present to her. This should be some big party!!

I intend to go there the day before the party and place the cards that she receives on boards for display at this special party. She is so proud of all of them and it has become such an important part of her celebration each year. Please thank all of the stampers for me for taking the time to celebrate her extraordinary life. She just told me about a woman that she had dinner with on a regular basis that passed last week and she was very emotional about her passing. Can you imagine how many people she has seen go? Again, I think whatever the stampers want to do will be fine. The theme for this party is - An Extraordinary Life - Well Lived.

Thanks again!!

MMTPT216 ~ DESTINATION STATION

This week our destination is Melrose Park, Illinois. Sara is the daughter of fellow Teapotter/SCSer/Dirty Dozen Alum/Card Maker Extraordinaire, Cathleen (CTorina). See Cathleen's jaw-dropping gallery here. Sara is getting married on the 22nd. Like her mother, she has elegant tastes, and her wedding this weekend will feature cream and gold.

Sara's wedding is going to be a big Italian wedding. Sara just recently received her Masters in English Studies which took up most of her free time, but she loves to scrapbook and craft. Dave is a sports nut, and plays hockey. They met in a bar. That is Cathleen that you hear, giggling, as she says that sounds so bad! Cathleen says Sara has been the sweetest bride to be ever! When people ask them what the wedding theme is going to be, Sara and Cathleen get a big kick out of saying, um...the theme is a wedding! Snort! Very traditional and old school and very expensive, at least $42,000! Ha!

Let's shower her with cards as only Teapotters can!!

Here is the address to mail your cards:

Sara Torina/Dave Rodriguez
685 Winston Drive
Melrose Park, Illinois 60160

Thank you from Cathleen, Marie and Me!

MMTPT217 ~ DESTINATION STATION

This week our destination is Madison, Alabama. If you would like a destination for your card this week, how about sending it to Dorothea. Dorothea is the mother of fellow Teapotter Kathleen (Kathleen Lammie). Dorothea was recently re-diagnosed with cancer. Back in 1988, she had breast cancer and a single mastectomy. The doctor suspects that is where this new cancer originated from. She has been referred her to an oncologist, has had a PET scan and a suspicious area has been found on one of her lungs. There is some good news though in that a recent mammogram does show her remaining breast is good, clear of cancer.

On September 26th, Dorothea is celebrating her birthday. She is eighty years old, soon to be 81 and although her age might limit the kind of treatment for her, some special birthday cards coming her way will help her celebrate her 81st birthday in a special and meaningful way. Please feel free to wish her a Happy Birthday in your card! Let's make a big fuss over her!

Dorothea likes flowers, the bible, puzzles, mysteries, church hymns or classical music (no pop or rock). She plays the piano and still has her autoharp.

SPECIAL NOTE PLEASE:
Dorothea is very particular about the spelling of her name. Please see the correct spelling of her name and her address in the section below.

Dorothea Stilwell
Madison Village
6016 Wall Triana Highway #22
Madison, AL 35757

Thank you from Kathleen and thank you from me!

MMTPT218 DESTINATION STATION

This week our destination is Malabar, Florida. If you would like a destination for your card, how about sending it to Jean? Jean was brought to our attention by fellow Teapotter Sugar (redcaboose1717). Sugar has some friends (John and Suzanne) who are dealing with a sad situation at this time. John's mother (Jean) was diagnosed in July of 2011 with Lung and Breast cancer and it is terminal. John has epilepsy and cannot drive because of seizures. He is unable to take a trip to Florida to visit his mother. So, in support of John with his health issues, we have been asked to show our support to his mom by sending our cards to his mother which will brighten her days and boost John's morale at the same time.

Jean loves cats. She is very religious and would welcome religious cards. Her favorite color is yellow. Please keep in mind that Jean's cancer is terminal. Please do not use Get Well Soon sentiments or those not appropriate for a terminal patient.

Here is the address:

Jean Linabury
1628 East Stardust Dr.
Malabar, FL 32950

Thank you from Sugar, Fran and me!

MMTPT219 ~ DESTINATION STATION

This week our destination is Chardon, Ohio. If you would like a destination for your card, how about sending it to Jennifer? Jennifer (nillysilly_ol'bear) is a fellow SCSer who is battling a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer. Jennifer is presently at a facility where they are aggressively attacking her cancer with radiation 7 days a week until November.

Despite all that she is going through, Jennifer is a challenge hostess for HYCCT bringing cards of support and encouragement to others battling this disease. Just to give you a sense of Jennifer's compassion for others, read the comments she posted in one of the HYCCT challenge hostess threads:

In her own words;

I can't tell you how much I am looking forward to this event this year! In February, I received my own diagnosis. I'm still going through treatments, and will be through the end of the year and perhaps longer. I have a rare and agressive form of breast cancer, so this challenge, which was always important to me (not to mention tons of fun!), has taken on even greater importance.

Almost all of my extra cards I have been placing in a box I've made for the center where I take my chemo treatments. you can't even begin to know the joy the other patients experience as they go through the box to take whatever cards they are needing. several other people have also sent cards for this box. every bit of beauty helps to brighten a day in some form or fashion. when going through this journey, you learn to look for and appreciate every act of kindness and every glimpse of beauty you see.

If you have a chance to hop on over to her blog you will find out why our teapot has shoes and get a sense of the amazing person that Jennifer is.

Here is the address:

Jennifer L Scull
319 South St
Chardon, OH 44024-1322

Thank you from Rosalia and me!

MMTPT220 ~ DESTINATION STATION

This week our destination is Lexington, Kentucky. If you would like a destination for your card this week, how about sending it to Angelique? Angelique was brought to our attention by Fellow SCSer and Teapotter Lydia (understandblue). Angelique is a very good friend of Lydia's who recently has some surgery go bad.

Angelique went in for emergency surgery just before Labor Day. It was nothing life threatening but the surgeon ended up making a mistake during surgery which resulted in a second surgery. She ended up being in the hospital for three weeks and believe it or not, has at least one more surgery to go! How on earth did that happen?

She has a long road ahead of her and needless to say, needs a little teapotter love to get her through what lies ahead! Angelique is an artist and a professional editor by trade for the University of Kentucky. She loves to make crazy little bat girls out of paper and her Twitter name is Paperbatty. She loves Halloween and loves Spookey stuff! Lydia's nickname for her is Batty or Battypants.

Angelique also has and simply loves chihuahuas. Hers are rescues and she has one that dances for her! Attached here is a picture of one of her little buddies!

Here is the address:

Angelique Cain
121 Wabash Drive
Lexington, KY 40503

Thank you from Lydia and and me!

Heart MMTPT221 ~ DESTINATION STATION...

MMTPT221 ~ DESTINATION STATION

This week our destination is Cincinnati, Ohio. If you would like a destination for your card this week, how about sending it to the parents of Easton, a sweet little baby born with a rare and incurable desease. Easton was brought to our attention by fellow Teapotter Denise (Resqbarbie)

Easton was born with a very rare skin disorder, a severe form of Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), his skin blisters and comes off. His parent can't hold him and he is in pain 24/7. His pain is like the pain of a 3rd degree burn. Easton has been moved from New York where his family lived to Ohio and his parents are there with him. His 3 brothers are home in NY, just starting school and missing their mom and dad too. For more information on Baby Easton click here.. If you are so inclined, you can also make a donation for the family's expenses there. I have attached a picture of the family here and there are many pictures of sweet little Baby Easton on the website mentioned above...........it a very sad story.

This is the most recent update from Denise, in her own words.......

It seems that things are up and down...right now Easton is still in the hospital in Cincinnati and is intubated and they are checking him for a bone infection. The sad thing is this poor baby is alert and awake and even smiles. But he is on lots of pain meds too. I think the family would appreciate some encouraging cards and uplifting words. They believe in God and have frequent prayer requests. The parents are waiting for a room to open up at the local Ronald McDonald house.

As far as addresses.....

You can mail your cards to the parents at the hospital where Easton is. Denise says she knows the parents are both still at the hospital and if not, there are 2 Aunts and at least one Grandma there that can forward the cards. Here is that address:

Baby Easton Friedel
c/o NICU
3333 Burnet Avenue
MLC 1013
Cincinnati, OH 45229

This is the address where the parents have been staying, however, we have been unable to get an update on if they have been able to move into the local Ronald McDonald House. This may not be a good option because that could have happened......

Jared & Danielle Friedel (mom and dad)
c/o Hampton Inn & Suites Cincinnati
3024 Vine Street
Cincinnati, OH 45219

If you are so inclined to send Baby Easton's brothers cards, this is the address to do that:

Baby Easton's Brothers
c/o Lori Bodoh
6499 Beech Tree Road
Auburn, NY 13021

Thank you from Sheri, Denise and me!
