The Day made of Glass was amazing. I felt like I was living in a NCIS program. I have mixed feelings about the technology, but it ss very cool anyhow. Oh the changes our world has seen and will see.
Now for some photos I took while on a walk today. It was a beautiful day, with the temp in the low 60s and lots of sunshine.
These views are all of a mountain called Mount St Helena, located just over the hill from where I live, and just northeast a little from Napa, Ca. This gets snow several times during the winter season, usually melting between each time. There's a nice park at the top for playing in the snow.
The park we walked in is called Foothill Regional Park. Wine country and homes surround it, but you can really get the sense of getting away from the city when you're in the hills and oak trees.
Anyhow, it is a beautiful day here in Wine Country Ca.

Academy Awards Iconic Stars - Legendary Fashions
I watched bits and pieces last night (flipping back and forth between this and William and Kate's history) I've set the DVR to record it for today.
They showcase how the styles have changed over the years of the Academy. And did you know, Joan Rivers is chronicled as being the first to ask 'Who are you wearing?'
The show will air several times between now and the big event. All times are given in CST
Jennifer, I really like the photos that you posted, I had the wonderful opportunity (thanks to family and friends providing food and lodging) to visit your area for three weeks 4 years ago. My best vacation ever! So keep the photos coming helps me relive those happy memories. You live in such a beautiful area.

Kelly! How cool is that! Thanks for listing all of the information...think about how long the academy awards have been going on! Lots of history! We don't have direct TV, we have comcast cable....we have thought about switching for quite some time! Sounds like fun shows.....

I was just going through some papers - lord knows I have an overabundance of them! - and came across this clipping. I'm adding it here because there were a few cards in the Teapot Gallery this week that reminded me of Audrey Hepburn -

What you smell, Cindy, is Alicia's new fragrance that just came out. There will be a bottle of it in all the goody baskets at the Academy Awards. We will be at all the party's. snort and nanner!

ooooh...I looooove snickers..and I'm off tomorrow....I'll just go get my broom and I'll be right there....maybe I can get there while they're still warm....
In reply to you Barbarar20, I get the nesting balls at the Wild Birds Unltd. store, but they would be easy enough to make. You just need raw cotton and yarn pieces and hold this together with a very open netting tied at the top and bottom. The hummers know what to look for, as this is the second year I have had the balls for them. Other birds collect form the balls too. Even placing an old fashioned string mop outdoors will attract nesting birds for the materials. These are Anna's hummers and are here year around. Last year I had a female nesting in my wind chimes right out the front door.
Jill, I like your shot of the mourning doves sitting in front of the barbecue. It as if they are waiting for the heat to come on and warm them.
What a great idea. We have horses so I gather horse hair and put it in netting like a bag of onions or oranges come in. The hummers love it. I had a blue bird sitting on my fence today. I don't think I've ever seen one this early. Tomorrow I will put out some meal worms for him. I am a bird lover.
Okay, I have missed alot! But, just quickly I gather that are still talking birdies.....My sister collects birdies (in her house) and everytime she comes here we go to this fun little shop that she always buys birdies in..........So, I told her ooh, I am gonna buy me some birdies and she said...
Oh Good! We can be birdbrains together!!!! The next week we had a teapot tuesday challenge called the Birdbrain Train! That was an experience! Have you ever ridden on a train with 42,000 birds competing for attention! Yikes! I am gonna take a picture of my birdies!!!
And I see we are still talking cookies! He your snicker snicker snort snort doodlers!
You will have to bust your moves......The Snickerdoodle Noodle on Tuesday! Can't wait to see that! Tee hee!

Don't think just cuz I was slow to get here, I didn't see this! Hey, somebody took my new Alicia Militia frangrance outa my good bag at the A-card-a-me awards! Oh, that's okay, I hear its bombing anyway! Must be the perfurme bottle decor - Green camo! And I hear the fragrance is also not so feminine! Snort!

Thought I would share a couple of pics of my grand-daughter, Jordan {and her parents too} She is just a little over 1 week old. The middle photo is her getting lots of kisses from her daddy, James. My daughter Jodi {cupcaketini} is loving her new role in life with the double blessings of her husband and daughter!

Thanks ladies, she is such a little doll and so tiny, under 7 lbs right now, but going through a growth spurt. She is so loved by all her family and such a blessing!

Jennifer, is my computer stupid? That hummingbird link didn't work.....or was that hummingbird so fast in that webcam, it blew the link up on the way out? Surely, it can't be the operator of my laptop, cuz that would be me! Bwhahaha!
I've noticed this little hummer sitting in the clematis, near the feeder, when she should be on her nest. It appears that she realizes that her eggs weren't going to make it. She looks so lost and forlorn. Luckily I noticed a male is back, so there's hope.
You see, once the female gets the nest built, she chases the males away. The males have no part in the nest building, incubation, or rearing of the baby chicks.
I hope to see her belly get bigger soon. Maybe this time she will build her nst where I can watch.
Awww, that sounds so sad, but part of nature I guess. TFS the photo.

Haven't been able to stamp as much as I'd lke to lately -- just too busy with work and life, but had a great 4 days in New York City last week and just had to snap this pic since I missed Charlene/Bertie's retirement/birthday in late January!
Hey, Laurie.....you musta visited one of those M & M super stores...arent they a kick! There is one in Vegas...holy moly...you can buy M &M anything! Bertie does nutso in there as you can well imagine! How fun you some time away!
