I'm sharing a birthday card I made a little earlier for my husband's birthday. I used the new and adorable (and one of my favorites) Oh What a Day stamp set. I kept my card pretty CAS as my husband isn't a fan of fussy cards.

Next up on my list of things is to create some CAS Christmas cards for co-workers and teacher Christmas gifts. What's on your desk today?

I have the remains from where I made a "thinking of you" card for a co-worker whose aunt was just admitted to the hospital. She's getting laid off at the end of next month, so things are rough all around for them. I also just got my Big Shot, and I'm trying to decide what to do with it first! My SU order won't be in until next week, so I might use it to make a felt cake or two for Christmas gifts. I make felt cakes from Japanese patterns. Here's an example of one.

Your cake is adorable! I've seen these cakes/foods before but have only made strawberries. I hope your aunt feels better soon!

I have Christmas cards and tags I'm working on, as well as some mini Christmas boxes.

Oh wow... that's so gorgeous! This is one of those things I'm hoping to make time for after the holidays. I've been wanting to make little felt foods for my daughter's kitchen/play area! TFS! And I hope your co-worker's aunt is feeling better soon. That's very sweet of you to send a card.

Fantastic! They're fun to get into, and if you can figure out the Japanese patterns, they're the most realistic ones to do. There's a couple of good felt sites too to get patterns and materials from. American Felt and Craft is my favorite site to direct beginners to.

So what's everyone got on their desk today. I'm in the middle of a heap of mini Valentine's for my daughter. I've made three using the Cupid's Arrow Dies (TE) and then another 5 more using Love Monsters (TE) and I think my next few are going to use the Valentine Doodles stamps. I'm having so much fun making these! My most recent ones are below.

I'm also in the middle of a giant afghan for my very tall husband who always complains about short blankets, lol. I'm kind of in a middle of the blanket slump and need to get myself back in gear. Hopefully it'll be done before winter is over.

Jen, your valentines are absolutely adorable! LOVE the CAS color on kraft! I don't have anything on my craft table but have a huge workload that needs to be done.

Too funny about your husband complaining about short blankets! I did knit two hats for the baby but they were finished in a day as the pattern was simple and the hats are small, lol! HERE's the post that shows one of the hats.

Love your cute little hat - but love your cute little guy even more! He's adorable.

Hi Jen, love the little valentines but would like to ask a general question here. Why so many valentines and why do you make them for your daughter? In the UK we make/give one valentine for our boy/girlfriend/partner/husband/wife and that's it. What does your daughter do with them?

Ruth

Hi Ruth. Thanks for the nice comment! To answer your question, it's pretty common here in the US for younger kids to have Valentine's Day parties at their school where they bring a little treat and a complementary little card or note for all of the kids in their class as well as their teacher. Usually you can buy a box of valentines that include a pencil or candy to go with the card but I thought I would try making them this year.

Shelly, he is so precious! The hat is adorable too. Are you getting any sleep? I remember those first two weeks being pretty rough. I hope you have lots of help!

Thanks, Taylor! Can't say I'm getting much sleep but instead enjoying his nighttime feedings and soaking him up while I can.
