So, stop by, say 'hi,' and get acquainted with one of the best design teams around.
My name is Wanda Guess and I live near Sacramento California. I was born in Virginia and have lived a lot of places. All of my adult life has been in Northern California either in the bay area or Sacramento. My favorite place I have ever lived was Half Moon BayÖ.because I love fog! I have been stamping for 19 years. I discovered stamping through some of my work friends and it was all over from the very first time I put ink to paper. No looking back! Stamping has given me so much joy in my life!
My style is all over the map. I love doing clean and simple cards, but then I also really love shabby chic cards too. I guess that it all depends on my mood! I love color Ė lots of color! I am pretty much addicted to gingham paper for any project. I also really like different fonts and die cut letters. I prefer making cards most of the time. I donít scrapbook too much. I do like to make treat boxes or bags for my friends and co-workers. I have taught stamp classes for 10 years at my local stamp stores and at my house.
I usually will start my creative process inspired by a supply. It might be a button, or a stamp, or a piece of paper. Something will grab my eye and Iíll take off in a flurry around my craft room building around it. Did you ever watch Candice Olson and Divine Design? Remember how she would take a tray around and put all her design elements into it? I do that Ė with ribbon, paper, punches, stamps, etc. and then sit down to put it all together. If I get stumped I will get out my old Cards magazines or look at my Pinterest boards and something will light a spark usually. I can spend hours on one card if Iím Copic coloring or putting together some handmade flowers, and that is my preference. I like to just putter all day and make one project. I hardly ever make multiples of things.
My original hobby and passion is photography, and Iíve been a photographer since I was 14. I was lucky enough to meet Ansel Adams once, because my uncle knew him. Photography runs in my family. I love that I can combine photography and stamping on my blog. I started blogging three years ago and that is now such a big part of my life. My other hobbies are Cal football and hanging out with my wonderful husband and Buddy the cat. I feel so fortunate to be associated with Taylored Expressions. Iíve met such wonderful creative women and had so much fun!
Three favorite TE products in the TE store: Stamps, Dies and Paper!! LOL. Can I say that? It's way too hard to choose! If I had to pick three, it would be the new Quatrefoil cutting plate, Fruity Friends Stamp set, and the three Scallop Border dies.
(By the way, did you know that Wanda conceptualized the adorable Fruity Friends stamp set? It's bright, fun, and cheerful...just like Wanda!)
