Bumping: I've seen this done several times, is it something the moderators do? Very interesting reading on this topic!
The other ones that always confused me were the acronyms for the different technique challenges. Still trying to learn all of those. You have to look at the listing to figure those out. Like CCC I think means Color Combo Challenge.
OH! And I see references to DDD for Dirty Dozen, but why is there THREE D's and not just DD?????

I saw a post for BTW and it was referring to my visit to her while in her city and it took me two days to figure out what she was talking about on the home page of this charity site. BTW - by the way
The best by far is P M S (purchase more stamps) that was great Tazadecafe!
BUMP = means the person who typed that is "bumping" the thread or topic (which is say, 2 or more pages back) up to the top of the forum so that more people see it.
There is a thread in "chit chat" I am wondering about--
LYBUBSE
Can some one explain it?
You probably mean LYBUPSE - saw someone in another thread refer to it, otherwise I wouldn't have known either! It's "Leave Your Bunched Up Panties Somewhere Else"... Or I guess you could use the "B" and it could stand for britches!!
I am new to this site and have seen SCS and Swap name on several swaps. Can anyone PLEASE tell me what SCS and swap name means. I am sure when I am told I will feel VERY STUPID!!!!!!!!!
It just means they want you to include your screen name and the name of the swap you are participating in, with the stuff you send the hostess. If you mail your stuff, the hostess may not recognize your "real" name, and she may be hosting several different swaps. HTH!
I came across this somewhere, so I happen to know it.
NVR = No Vendor Restrictions. It means that you are not restricted to using just one particular vendor, such as SU!. So in your case, you may use ANY embellishments.
[QUOTE=Stampin Woman]Here are some acronyms that I found on the web and keep handy when I am IM-ing peeple so that I know what they are saying....
Not all of the apply to SCS but if you IM it is nice to have a place to look it up. when i first got these I edited them for content but I have not complied the 3 lists into one yet. And today is not the day for that.

I am new to SCS and also a new demonstrator for SU! I have been experimenting with some new techniques and I am stumped on how to etch on glass. I would like to make vases for centerpieces for a welcome tea and I tried and failed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I haven't tried the etched glass technique yet, but there are several helpful pointers in different 'threads' on here. If you do a search for "etched glass" you will find many results. Just in case you're not sure how to do a Search, here's a visual aid.
Very informative. I don't think I have time to memorize all of them, but I too wondered what adjective the ladies were putting in front of the word husband. Mine is darling, so I like that one. I was beginning to think no one here was happily married until I read this. Thank you! It makes me happier.
Anyone know what LULE means? I've read through the entire thread (way too much time on the computer tonight! ) and haven't seen it anywhere. I'm stumped!!
TIA
Donalee
Can you explain what a thread is and how is it related to "forums" And how do you find other threads. How do you locate swaps and general techniques? Thanks CJ Mueller
'Thread' is just another word for topic. This thread is about acronyms, another thread on the 'Start Here' forum may be someone introducing themself etc etc.
You will see lots of forums including Swaps, Techniques and Templates and Announcements to name but a few. If you want to find a swap, just exit this thread and scroll down a little and you will find SWAPS. Place your cursor there and press and see what comes up!! It's a good forum to go to!!
If anyone is really interested in loads of acronyms, look on the left side of the home page and you'll find a little paragragh which will take you to all the explanations of the 'strange' world of acronyms!
