BUMP means someone posts to the thread just to get it to the top of the board. with as many posts as can happen on a board like this, a thread can quickly move to page 2 and be lost to the backpages.

Default Stealing???

We call it scraplifting verses stealing. It is generally considered the utmost compliment to someone. I am very honored when someone asks (or not) to scraplift my work to share with others. Have a super great stampin day.

Default embosing buddy

Hello I read about an embossing buddy in this forum. Could someone please tel me more about that?
I searched in some on-line stores and in Dutch stores, but couldn't find it.
Do you have to use it, when you're embossing? Why? Always?
Thanks HannieH.

Hannie - an embossing buddy is a little powder-filled pouch that you rub on your cardstock before you stamp and emboss the image. It helps make sure that there are no stray specks of powder that get heated up and gives the image a clearer look.

Another question, what is WAXYO??

Thanks for telling about that embossing buddy.
I suppose I can make it by myself. Do I have to use a definite kind of powder?

I'm pretty sure that TAC stands for The Angel Company (it is a stamping company).

Talking acronyms and general help

Hi. I read what most of the acronyms mean... I understand most but I won't remember them.(lol) I'm not very good at the computer so I need some help with that. I was fairly new to splitcoast just before the changes. I don't understand the changes. I thought they would be obvious. I also thought it would go faster, meaning when I'm veiwing the gallery it is soooo slow! I don't think it's my puter cause my hubby just made it much faster. I hate to be a pain but can someone explain the new changes. Also what does bump mean? And how about thread? I think I get the idea that a thread is a specific topic... but how do I start a new topic? I'm sure I have more ?'s but I'll save them for later. Thanks for any help and info in advance. Dina

oh wait one more? how come it says card stock collector under my name.....is someone spying on me? (LOL)

OSW Means One Sheet Wonder. It's when you stamp all over one sheet of paper & cut it up to make different things like cards, scrapbook pages, etc...

Check this gallery out for examples.

My group calls it "inspiration". "Inspired by" sounds so much nicer than "stolen from".

BTW, what are the colored dots and road sign-looking icons in the bottom left corner of each post? I'm sure it's explained somewhere but I can't find it. I'd also like to know what the other, non-smiley icons mean. TIA!

Katie, I was thinking the same thing all week! I joined back in April, but got overwhelmed and up until this week haven't really dove in. Now that I have... I've spent soo much time looking around this site- more than I've stamped!-and excercised and walked and read to my kids...LOL jk I'm thinking once I learn how to decifer all these acronyms I'll get through this more quickly!
Take care! Martha

Okay every one is asking what bump means and gets the answer keeping the thread back up to the main page. I guess we should have asked what does
