Thank you for the idea. I will do that for sure. Yesterday we used a paper from a pack I bought there were only 2 sheets in the pack. The project took both sheets.
She probably was a shuttle tatter. I tried that and found it somewhat tedious. I then heard about needle tatting. I taught myself from a book and I love it. This method I find relaxing.
You are right she used a shuttle, how funny I forgot all about that. I just don't have time for another hobby. I am so busy with my cards, and I sew and I embroidery (some what, I have the machine) I do counted cross stitch when my eyes will let me. I am just too tired to learn anything new. (other than my cards) I love that

floating glitter got me in trouble with DH.... I made our rough tough black Rottweiler sparkley! LOL She didn't seem to care!
No idea how when we aren't even in the same room. That stuff gets everywhere!
When you find a paper you really love, scan it and save it as a JPG file. Then you can print it if you ever want it again. You can also lighten or darken it if you learn to use a photo editing program.
In any case, this may free your mind to use some of those papers you bought and love before they go out of style or your taste changes.
Thank you so much for this tip! I have a lot of retired Stampin' Up DP that I can't bear to use, because then it will be gone forever! Now, I can scan it and use it both! Yay!
I miss being a Glitter Queen...because I truly am THE Glitter Queen
My husband and friends at church call ME the Glitter Queen...as I always have it all over me there!! LOL. People will say, "Bron, you made cards tonight/today before you came, didn't you?" And I say, "Yep, sure did!" And they respond, "I can see the glitter, in your hair, on your clothes, and on your face!" Hahaha. I actually have an old stamp set, She Who. As in, She Who Must Stamp, She Who Has Glitter In Her Hair, and She Who Has Inky Fingers. I used to use this set a good bit, but have forgotten it lately. Maybe I should bring it to my stamp table once more!
Bron.....welcome, from that description, you will fit right in here.
Thanks, Faberino. I'm the only stamper/cardmaker that I know of in our whole church, 500+ people and growing every week, so I'm pretty much "it"! I love this site. I was here before, a few years ago, but didn't ever do anything except look at the gallery. I've gained confidence in my cardmaking, and at some point plan to upload some of my creations. Already, I love all the interaction I see!
Hi Bron, We are new together. I have just started stamping/cardmaking and love it so much. I make cards and send out at least 10 a week to the church family. It is hard to keep up on trying to stay with sending out 10 cards each week and trying to learn new ways of doing things. I love it so much... Please lets stay in touch so I can learn more. Faberino has helped me also..

What a fabulous idea! I wish I could go back and do that to some I've already used up. Oh, well! Now I know. I'm trying to post like crazy to lose my newbie status, cardstock collector! Where do these posts need to take place? Just in the forums?
Thanks, TexasGrammy. How long does it take to change? I'm sure I've made well over 10 postings. I guess you are a grandma?? I just had my first grandchild born in January! So wonderful!

Hi Diane, good to have a new friend instantly here. I know what you mean about sending out cards at church. I am behind now...by about that many!! I am not new to cardmaking, just to this site. I do look forward to learning a lot and fueling my cardmaking/rubberstamping, though...I am sure I'm gonna learn a lot here! Nice to meet you!
P.S. I also make cards for friends on Facebook, so that's more than 10 right there!
I made some cookies for tomorrow night's small group at church, and I have this neat stamp set that has a stamp that says, "A Little Something for You" with swirls and curliques, and a place to write the name of your treat. So I stamped it on Very Vanilla cardstock using Melon Mambo ink...pretty stunning, if I do say so myself I calligraphied the name of the cookies onto the fill-in place, and then carefully cut out, with scissors, the image. Using my SNAIL, I adhered the tag to the top of my plastic-wrapped cookie tray, and it's all ready now! I use stamps whenever and wherever possible...LOL
Thanks to everyone for explaining! I can see how this site can become very addictive, thank goodness I have a very understanding husband! I actually started making cards as a ministry. I joined a group called Senior Angels, a division of Chemo Angles, they assign you a homebound/ill senior citizen to correspond with a few times a week. I am really enjoying getting to know my "angel" and have become very addicted to card making! As a newbie, does anyone have any suggestion as to where to go from here in this group? Join Fan Club? Join a group? Thanks for any advice!! ~Leslie
Such a good egg, since its about spring, I'm thinkings of eggs, and your a good one.
What a noble cause, how wonderful that you're an angel.
There are many groups for cardatics, In a magazing called,
Take Ten, by Stampington, a great magazing, it will lead you to lots of creative artist and newbies alike, there are monthly challanges and calls for art. I think you will love the visuals. It is on line as well as print.

Ohhh I loveeeeee YouTube for crafting!!! Some amazing stuff on there!!! I love when I see a product used on a project; I can search for it on google and quite often a youtube video appears showing how to use it. Loveee it!!!
Also - with the really lovely videos, my kids - boy 9, girl 7 - love watching and stare in amazement as these wonderful card or craft creations are made! It is absolutely mind blowing!!!
Thanks for explaining what cardstock collector meant. I was a little confused because my friends were laughing when I told them. They tease me because I am the one with the least amount of paper ...my passion is ink
i was amazed to read what scrappers collect the most of. i am a shocker at buying the cheap scrapbking papers in cheap shops like golo and use myfriends craft punches on the papers i don't like then having to sort them out into different jars. my hubby thinks i am mad but i do have to say he knows when i am sitting at our dining table in the cnr he leaves me alone to create. i dont know if this is the right section but i just want to say i had a look at the gallery wow i couldnt believe all the beautiful pieces of art is just gorgeous that are on display keep them coming cos i look at them for inspiration. i love creating "beyond the page" projects. anyway have a great weekend everybody.
