Default Scoring Cardstock

Okay, this may seem like a question from left field, but when you score CS, which way do you fold the paper after scoring--with the "valley" on the inside or the other way? Or does it matter which way to get a clean, crisp crease (oooh, alliteration!!!), as long as you use a bone folder or something to crease it? How many of you just score, crease and don't even think about it? I didn't think about it, either, until someone asked me in a class I was teaching.

Thanks for any input!

I've never thought about it, I just fold.

If I thought about it, I would think folding the "valley" on the inside would make for a better fold.

Mountain on the outside, valley on the inside.
The other way can potentially 'crack' your CS (especially orange for some unknown reason).

Actually, I used to do mountain out, valley in. But then, I saw it shown the opposite way at a card making class and I actually like the results better with the valley OUT!

i prefer folding the valley out too... it doesn't rip the paper as much and it looks cleaner.

Default Valley out is correct

the "valley" -scored side has fibers stretched and seperated thus making the fold easy.
