Ok so I'm new to this site. I'm looking for any new ideas for stamping or scraping. I started a scrapbook of my cat and all I can say is so far so good I think. You see I'm going to be a new grandma and really want to do things well for my new grandbaby due middle of June. I've mostly been doing the card bit but any help on anything would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to everyone!
Okay, so I have a question. I love you site and have tried lots of new ways to create cards and lots of techniques that I love and share with my stamping friends. I have seen and tried to create a card using a penny to help an image "slide" or "spin" down or across the card. I would love to have the actual technique as I think mine is very primative. Anyone have any help. Here's my e-mail if you can help me out with directions.
Mamaegg, I have made this card before and it's kind of tricky. You either punch a whole with the word window paper punch from SU or you can cut it with a razor knife. You then put a penny on the back of your slit a dimensional on that penny and then a penny on top of your dimensional, so your dimensional is in the slit. Then, you take a glue dot and glue your design on top of the penny and it should then slide. I hope this make sense, if you have any questions let me know.
This is the first message that I am posting. I have been checking out this site for a while now, but I finally decided I become a part of the action. I love to stamp and I think that I'll be joining those of you who are SU demonstrators very soon!
How did I get that "Cardstock Collector" below my name? I thought that I uploaded a picture too?! I'm neww to all of this, does anyone have any suggestions?

As you make more posts, your "Cardstock Collector" will change to a new designation. When you make 10 comments, you will become a "Glitter Queen"! You can make posts to the Forum and/or the Gallery, but I found that my category does not automatically change when I have made enough posts until I post to the Forum. You can read more about this in the sticky, "What is a Cardstock Collector?" right here in the Start Here forum. HTH!

I love the site, but need to learn how to find my way around. Thanks, zingwyo

I thought I was doing pretty well looking around the site and learning TONS of new techniques and then tonight I registered on the site and I am all of a sudden confused and lost!! What happened?? I feel completely illiterate! I have no idea how to see replies if I even get one! LOL. Anybody want to help the crazy woman over here? It's 1 in the morning, maybe I am just tired! I am new to SU, waiting for my starter kit. I work in a scrapbook store and teach classes. I LOVE LOVE LOVE to make things! I love to crop, make cards and stamp! I am totally addicted like so many others. I look forward to "meeting" and chatting with many of you!!

I am brand new to this site and to SU. I have seen some wonderful things on this site so far. I was wondering if there is a place to get step by step instructions on the cards that I like?
Thank you for your help.
I am a very new member of this great group, have been having a wonderful time here.
Every day I quickly turn to the 'newest photos', what fun to see these so quickly...
Thanks

Hi everyone. I guess this is where I say "hi" and post a quick intro.
I'm Stacy and am brand new to SU. I joined up as my birthday gift to myself, as I had been debating for a long time now. LOL! So, I submitted my ap on 2/27 and got my kit day before yesterday! Yippee. I'm going through all that and this site, trying to learn all I can. I'm VERY nervous about the first workshop. Well, that's it for now. Glad to be here.
(Thanks to my 'sponsor' for introducing me to SCS!)
Gotta run ...........
Cheers,
Stacy

Hi BStringer, When you get on the website, you look up at the top of the screen on the right side and there you will see, Home, Gallery, Forums, Resources, Store, News, About....... Click on Resources and a long list will pop up for Projects and then if you scroll down, you will see technique tutorials. I found everything I wanted in these two lists!!! Have fun!!!!

HI Stacy!! Glad to meet you. I am waiting for my starter kit and can't wait to get it! I have done 1 informal party with some friends and it went well. We are getting together again this Saturday. We started a club that will meet once a month, so i will enjoy that. Don't worry about your first party. It's so fun!! The people who attend the party will just go with the flow! Have a great time!

How did you do that Quote thing ?? I get so confused with all this - it makes sense when reading about - then gets confusing when you go to do it !!!
I just tried to do a post with a quote and ended up on "can not find server page" guess I did something wrong - you think?
When you post your reply to someone, after you are done typing in the white box, just below the box is a little box that you put a check mark in and it says, "quote message in reply?". I just put a check mark in that box and the original post goes up with my reply. Is that what you were asking about?

Hi Gene Scrapper, Click on "Resources" on the website at the top right side. That's where a big list will pop up that gives instructions on how to do the projects and then technique tutorials. It's really cool!! Is that what you are referring to?
Rae
Hi all another newbie here I am so excited to know there are so more addicts out there.
This is going to be a wonderful learning experience
thank you
Lorraine
Hi Lorraine! Yes I am a fellow addict. As a matter of fact, I just got home from teaching a scrapbook class and now I am sitting here staring at the this website! LOL What fun it is to see all the wonderful ideas!!
Rae
I think it means "Copy and Steal Everything"???? or "Stamp" "Scrap"...Steal doesn't sound very nice.....anyone else know for sure?
Yeah I was going to ask the same thing last night but I fell asleep on the keyboard at 3 am. Just kidding! I have no idea what CASE means. Copy and Steal Everything is hilarious!!!! LOL
Have been getting ideas off this site for months and finally decided to join up yesterday and donate to the Fan Club, but can't find the Club. Any ideas? This forum stuff it completely new to me so please bear with me.
If you've never used a message forum like this before it can take a little while to figure out what it's all about.
The first item you clicked on, called 'START HERE' is a forum category. Forum categories are created by the administrator of the forum.
Inside the forum categories you will find forum topics. The second item you clicked on, called 'Read Me first', is a forum topic. Topics can be created by any registered members, not just the administrator. Anyone who posts a reply will see their message displayed right beneath this one. In that way it's possible to have a conversation between lots of people and have all their responses in one place.
Try posting a reply to one of the topics in the forums, or create your own topic. If you've got any questions or have any ideas to help us improve the forum, post a message in the Reader Feedback area and we'll be sure to help you out.
Thanks, and welcome to the forums!
I am new at this also and I am not sure this is where I am supposed to respond, but here goes nothing!
I'm not new, but I've been here less than a year. When I first found this site I fell in love with it and still am. I became a paying member almost immediately. I figured I paid that much for a subscription to a good crafting magazine and they only come once a month. Here's my question. I know I paid for memebership in June of 2005, but when I go to the control panel and look it up there is no expiration date. Will splitcoaststampers let me know when my subscription is up? I don't want to miss out on anything. Thanks. Also as long as I'm asking questions is there a place to go to find out what the icons before each topic in the forums mean?
Hi! I just joined and thought I'd intro myself. I "accidentally got obsessed" with stamping at Christmas when one of my coworker's spouse sent in Christmas gift cards in the cutest little envelope. She's a SU! Dem and I inquired about a catalog. Wellllll . . . the catalog hooked me, and she reeled me in! She was just starting a SU! Club at her home, and I was the second to sign up. We have so much fun, learn so much and Lisa has generously shared all her supplies and knowledge, and SO MUCH of her time by cutting a lot of the papers etc. prior to the meeting so we can jump right into the technique part!
The catch here is this: I am not actually that into greeting cards. They are so pretty, so different, etc. and I do love them, but my main focus in my club participation is to learn new techniques that will enable me to embellish my soap and body product boxes uniquely! I have a business and website for those with eczema as well as those without, and I feature products that are natural remedies and unfragranced to aid allergy and eczema sufferers. I handmake my own products, so naturally I want a unique packaging design. I'm still carving it out, and each month I learn something new to come back and experiment with and improve my designing skills. By summer, I will be ready to unveil my new packaging, and thanks to Lisa and my SU! Club, I will have the skills with which to project a personal yet professional image!
And one last BIG BENEFIT . . . now that I've found SPLITCOAST (thanks again to Lisa), I don't have to wait for the monthly meeting to roll around! There's a meeting right here all the time!!! I will NEVER get through all the beneficial material, but I will have fun or die trying!!! Thanks for a wonderful website, I'm a paying subscriber and hooked for life!!!

This site is great. I was introduced to it 2 years ago but my daughter who is a SU dem. I first bought a few stamp sets to be a good mom and support her new business. Now I have half a closet dedicated to SU supplies and stamp sets. I believe that I haven't purchased a greeting card for the last 4 years. I am either very creative or very crazy, but it has been fun.
As I am new I have been exploring the site, but have a question. In the gallery I see so many wonderful creation that I would love to duplicate, are project instructions available for the cards? I know that some include the CS colors, Ink colors, embellishments and the technique but is there any more? At times I find myself struggling to make something work, so I thought it was worth asking the question.
Well, thanks again for all the help you have all been so far and I look forward to learning and creating more in the future.
HI! I am not new to splitcoasterstampers site but I am new to the fan club and I am so excited to have joined - don't know why I didn't do it sooner.
