We will try, but please don't worry about it. If you take a misstep someone will guide you back. Just enjoy, participate as you are able.

Ask questions when in doubt.

I've posted a couple of cards but I am unable to post comments on the work of others. Can you tell me why & how to change that. I'd really like to share the love.

Lydia, I was getting a message that said I was not authorized to post comments, something like that, unfortunately I didn't write it down. But by MAGIC it's working this morning! Thanks for checking on my account. :0)

How can I start a forum? I have 11 grandchildren and 600+ kids at school who love stamping and would like to send cards back and forth. I would love to call it kid2kid. Please let me know the proper channels to follow.
Thank You,
Stamoingrandmommie ( Cynthia )

I think the change occurred when you completed 10 posts. Many sites place limitations on newbies till they have at least 10 posts.

Hello there

My name is Kim and I'm new here. I've lurked a little in the past. My first love is horses, but in the Winter I love to dance and create cards. I am VERY SLOW at card making. I tend to get more lost in what other people are making and oooing and ahhhhing over their stuff. Then I get overwhelmed and don't know where to start.

My goal is to get cards done for my hospice. We are always mailing cards out to patients and especially their family members and my board. I'd like to make all of the cards by hand - if I could get more than 2 per month completed! LOL!

I'm hoping that coming here will inspire my creative juices and help me be more efficient! I've just started with Copics and recently bought a Cameo that I'm trying to learn.

Hi Kim! Welcome to SCS!! This is definitely the place to learn and be inspired with card making. I know how easy it is to get overwhelmed with so much information. Give yourself time and enjoy the journey! I find that some of the daily challenges here have been helpful in creating cards when I didn't know where to start, especially the sketch challenge on Wednesday. There are so many resources here to help you along the way and many wonderful people who love to share their talents and expertise.

Often it is easier to make multiples all at the same time. They don't have to all be identical, maybe just the same layout or same color group. Try making two or three when you need one. Put the others in your stash for when you need one quick.

Thank you

I do make multiples. I have a bad habit of starting cards and not finishing them too. I swear I have ADD, LOL!

I have a hard time giving up my prototype cards that turn out really well, then my ugly ones, I'm too embarrassed to show anyone.

I also struggle with putting the colors together. I really think that's where I need to start. Once I get the right papers together, I think it'll flow better.

I'm a work in progress. I just have to get going...

Packs of paper are generally well coordinated. Perhaps that can help you get started. Also, in paint stores there are often booklets of decorator color schemes that will work for cards too.

Possibly you will need to get to 10 posts first. Some sites do this as a way to deter spammers.

I prefer IE, but it gets grumpy with me with videos and sometimes on face book, so I just figured it was sharing the wealth. Yup, this is post ten.

Default Hi from a West Coast newbie

I'm new both to the Splitcoaststampers and to card-making. There's so much out there - I'm hoping to take focused baby steps to keep cost down and stash under control.

Happy to have found this group!

That is a good idea, start simple and buy only what you need for the project you want to do. Try working in duplicates. You can cut 2 cards from a single sheet of cardstock. Start with a good black ink and a box of colored pencils to color in images. I like a die ink for this. You can also draw your own images with a fine line ink pen. Words and sentiments can be done by hand or on the computer depending on your skills.

This may not be the place to post this, but I am not having luck anywhere else. I NEED to reset my password and so far nothing but frustration.

I am obviously logged in, but at work and I am always logged in here. I need to log in again and home and for whatever reason I cannot remember my password.

I used the forgot my password link and finally this morning received an email with a link. I clicked the link and it says my email is invalid. Clearly it is not as I got the email. And, the email is the one I used to register.

So, HOW DO I RESET MY PASSWORD. I'd like to be able to access the forums and swaps I am involved in from home. Please help me. This is super frustrating.

Well never mind. I seem to be working now, without even resetting my password. I tried to log in again with what I thought my password was and it worked. Maybe there were site issues.

Hi Erin. Welcome. I also used to quilt. Well, actually, I learned how to quilt basics and made a few quilts but have not picked it up for quite a few years. I would love to take it up again but would need a quick tutorial in using the sawing machine

Hello Stampers: I am a new member with SCS. I have been stamping since 2005 and really fell in love with the hobby. My creative juices came alive. I finally decided to join everyone since I have retired from a professional life. I look forward to conversations with ya'll. (I'm a southern girl). Please let me hear from you.

Default New and Hello

Just trying to figure out this website. I have participated in forums before, but it's been a long time. Looks like there are a lot of topics to choose from, so hope I can contribute at some point. But for now, just saying hello to the group. Carol
