I'm not sure I'm doing this right. New member here. Did you get an answer to your question about getting your picture under your name? I would be interested in the answer you received, as I too need to do that.
Thanks

The small photo under your name is called an avatar. It helps to resize your photo to 80 x 80 pixels first and save it as a jpg. Then upload it by going to Quick Links > Edit Options. In the left column of your control panel, click the "Edit Avatar" link. You can Browse to your image file from there.

In the left column of any thread, you'll see the writer's SCS name in bold letters. Click on the SCS name, then select "Send a private message to ..." Write your message and 'send'.

SCS has such a fabulous array of 'purse' projects. I suggest doing a search:
  • Click on 'Gallery' at the top of this page. Once there, use the 'search' function using the keyword, 'purse'.
  • Also search for gallery keyword, 'envelope', if the previous search didn't help.
  • Finally, you could return to the 'Forums' (Click 'Forums' at page top when you're in the 'gallery'.) Use 'Search' again with the keyword, 'purse'.
And please enjoy the journey along the way!

Is it permissible to add a link to an article I've written when it is in answer to a thread question?

Also, posting rules indicate HTML code is 'off'. Does this revert automatically after a certain number of posts, or is it something I'm able to adjust within my account details?

Thankyou for your answers; I hope this is the right place to write it.

Carole,
Adding a link in answer to a posted question is generally allowed. Exceptions occur when the answer is considered to be promotional to your business, your blog, to a company for which you work, etc. When in doubt, please feel free to PM myself or any moderator with the specifics and we'll be able to offer specific advice.

I'm checking with another source on your 2nd question.

When I go to add a html link to send to you for your approval I get a message saying "you are only allowed to post URLS to other sites after you have made 3 posts or more'

Since I have made 3 posts, perhaps there is somewhere I can switch 'on' html??

Carole, the feature you've asked about is turned off.
However, you can add links via the little blue 'globe & chainlink' icon above the text box. If you are 'pasting' a link into the provided box, be sure to delete the automatic 'http://' provided. If this doesn't work for you, please PM me, or post the same question in our Site Questions forum.

That old message about 3 posts is confusing. According to some threads in the Challenges forum, the actual number required is now 15. It was increased to cut down on spam. Gallery comments also count, and that is an easy way to increase your total.

Hurray for Daven!

He just fixed this so that the minimum number of forum posts required really is only 3 now.

Okay I have looked everywhere and can't find what I am looking for. Before the change in ownership, there was a folder that had alpha lists of stamp sets and samples from the set. Where is that folder now? Thanks

Default Hello

Hi! I have just joined and wanted to say hello! Have been hooked on stamping since I went to a freinds SU! workshop a couple of years ago....the rest as they say, is history! Am in the process of doing my Xmas cards at the moment which is giving me the perfect opportunity to sit and stamp! "I just HAVE to get these done!!" Just want to say, LOVE the galleries and the way you can look up a stamp set and see other people's work - OMG but some people are creative!!!!!! Thanks for the great site.

Click on "gallery". There are different categories there. If you have SU stamp sets click on that box. There you will sub categories arranged by alphabet. For example if you have the SU set "Always", you would click on the SU A-B box then scroll down until you get to the line that shows the "Always" set and click on the icon for the box on the left. It will bring up all the cards in the gallery made with that set.

I hope this helps you. There is so much to see on this site it can get overwhelming but keep on looking and you'll soon learn where to go to get all kinds of ideas. Have fun, Judy

Thanks for the tips. I'm primarily a scrapbooker but the card ideas I extrapolate to a 6x6, 8x8, or with some difficulty 12x12. Have a new stampin up neighbor who's a big help also.

When you are in the gallery be sure to check out the "scrapbooking pages" under "other galleries" section for more scrapbooking ideas.

Hello everyone! I just became an SU! demo a couple months ago. I live in Elk Grove, CA. I've been scrapping since '96 and just now started stamping and LOVE it! I guess I'm a late bloomer. This site is amazing! Looking forward to chatting with all of you. You are all so inspiring! Is there a good place to look on the site for workshop ideas? Thanks!

Yes, we do have forums for SU demonstrators which include many business ideas. You will want to join the demonstrator forums by following these steps:
  • Go to the front page of SCS, by clicking the word 'home' at the top of this page.
  • Find the 'Join a User Group' button on the left side of the SCS front page, and click to enter.
  • Apply to join the demonstrator forums. It is not automatically approved, but you will later be notified by someone regarding your membership.
Enjoy!
