Call me crazy but I just don't understand the concept of the show. Ok I understand that the judges listen to the voices without preconceived notions of how the person looks. I get that. But why is it that the judges who want them on their team get to look at them and the one that doesn't doesn't see them? I kept on asking Ryan the same question until he told me to be quiet lol. Shouldn't it be that the ones who choose them not see them til the end?
Well, the judges have to turn around in order to "bid" for the singer to join their team. If they don't turn, they are out of the running. If only one judge turns around then they automatically get that singer no matter what they look like or whether they start to sing out of tune as the song goes along.
I really don't think that seeing the person is a big element of the show, it's more the idea that the judges initial reaction has to be to the voice. Really, they can also judge the crowd and how excited they seem about the performer as well as the song choice itself so they already have more clues than just the voice to go from.

I like the show more than American Idol because it is basically narrowed down to good singers. None of that try out stuff. Some of these singers have CD's etc, may have never gotten the recognition they deserve.
