Thank you ladies! I will be ordering a couple of OTT lights for sure. Eventually I will have this room looking like the Griswald's at Christmas

We are going to a couple of car auctions over the next few weeks..so I am sure we will find something.

On a different note..the plumber never showed up today..no phone call..nothing..feeling kinda ticked about it LOL..letting the husband take care of that one, because I am so aggravated about the drain issues and my van issue..I think I might be a little umm..not so nice to the poor plumber..HAHA...

Wings...I usually use the Quad-Zeros...especially Pink, Blue, Purple, or Blue-Green. I flick from the wing base so the color is more concentrated there, and often add darker colors of markers

I may need to really CONSIDER trying my copics out more. For crying out loud..they are right behind me in my studio. {i have decided to call my craft room my studio} I tell people I am in my room and they always think bedroom...it is a spare bedroom, but studio sounds sooooo much more luxurious. um...random thought from me.

What is your favorite bella stamp for Valentines??I have a BUNCH I need to make...( ok, there is a slight (MAJOR) possibility that the kids will buy them from the store this year..as it is difficult for me to make 50 Valentines that I know will either be torn up or thrown away with a week..HA!~ that is sheer vanity there I tell ya) I need to make some for a few close friends, the hubby, and my parents and always send them to my other two step- kids ( two live with us, and two with their mom) my in-laws and my husbands sweet grandmother..so I need something cute and kind of simple..

Paula, definitely call your room your studio...different "work" (LOL) gets accomplished in a bedroom than in a studio (or not...LOL)

Inkin One,

I'm working on my Valentine cards using Mo's Cupid in Love image. Here's a link so you can take a look at Cupid:

Mo's Digital Pencil

You're going to be making a lot of cards so I understand your not wanting to work with an overly complicated image. Maybe Cupid fits the bill for you?

I must confess I don't do valentine cards BUT if you want to do some quick ones I would suggest the Huggabuggs - here's the link - Stamping Bella - Rubber Stamps, Scrapbooking, and Stamping Supplies They are super cute and quick to colour up!!

I decided to finally make Valentine's Day cards this year and placed an order with Stamping Bella. I just love the new stamps I had a whole bunch of ideas popping up. Unfortunately I'm still waiting on my order to finish processing (it's been 11 days). Hopefully they'll get here on time. I'm getting a bit nervous since the 14th is right around the corner and I still have to wait for shipping from Canada.

Anyone know how long it takes for something to get to NY from there? Just so I can plan my time line a bit more efficiently.

Did you get a shipping notice? Generally takes exactly a week to arrive to me in Texas once shipped. I would think NY would be a little faster since Em is in Toronto. If you haven't got a shipping notice yet, don't hesitate to email Em!

This was my first time ordering from their online store so I don't know what their turn around time is. I checked and double checked their site to see if they have a FAQ about this but there wasn't any information.

I actually never got the shipping notice and after a while I checked the website and it says "Processing". I emailed them yesterday so I'll hear back from someone eventually.. maybe... I'm just gonna cross my fingers and hope they come in time for me to make my Valentine's Day cards!

I am in The Detroit area and once I get my shipping notice, UPS delivers on te second day. I would think that would be the same for you in NY. But a quick email to Emily wouldn't hurt...might I suggest some time in the a.m., when she is more likely to be at the store. Haha, I like to keep things fresh in her mind! Can you tell I email her plenty! Lol

Girls, it's getting late and I hope I can make a coherent thought here. Dana suggested a huggabugg and that is an excellent choice in a Stamping Bella image, since they don't take a lot of time to color, (on the smaller size). Now, I am with you, I would NEVER make Valentines for children to rip open and toss away. I too take care and thought with what I color and if I don't think you would appreciate the work, you won't get one from me. it sound harsh when actually typed out, but unless ou spend the time, you don't know what goes into it.

I did do some pt a couple of years ago and that helped but now it seems to be back. I had to leave my desk and work yesterday and sit with a hot rice bag all night which helped a lot..( ok..rice put in a sock..but rice bag sounds so much better LOL)..but today I am almost sick to my stomach from it. I know you ladies probably sit and color as much if not mroe than I do..so help a girl out here. LOL
I have no professional 'art' training except for some painting lessons I took when I was about 12! And I did take art all through high school, but decided on a career in computer science! yup...i'm a programmer.

And YES, I have serious neck issues caused by a degenerated disk likey due to spending the last 27 years sitting and working on a computer, and the colouring only aggravates it. It can get pretty painful and advil, celebrex, along with my massage therapist and a heating pad get me through it. I've considered PT lately as well but just haven't picked up the phone yet. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I am not making it up on my blog just to sell it. I only stamp on Bella's BESTEST.
I totally agree with Paula! only bella's bestest for me too. i think we were there (at the store) together when emily gave it to us and just like Paula, I have NEVER looked back. Now, I did try the xpress it when that was all the hot topic, and although i like it for copics, i don't like it for pencils. so bella's bestest it is!

I think I need new stamps..and had an order all ready to go..then we find out my van is DEAD. Dead as in ..never running again..HA! Guess that awesome order will be on hold for a while huh? LOL..to bad I can not convince my kids they can walk everywhere and live off Ramen so mommy can have new toys LOL
sometimes I just go open a box of my older stamps, but most often I find if I flip thru my excessive collection of patterned papers I'll usually come across something that says...oh geeze, i forgot all about that paper...and usually the colours in it will inspire me to colour something and i'll go on the hunt for an image that works with it.

And I know this sounds CRAZY, but I will often flip in a DVD of a Criminal Minds episode. I have ALL 6 seasons and I'm a crazy fan. Somehow, just having that playing in the background gets me in the mood.

I have a Cricut Expression and a Cuttlebug. I only use my Cuttlebug for embossing or die cutting with Nesties, for all other die cut images I turn to my cricut cartridges.

Some of the extra large Sizzix dies are too wide for the Cuttlebug, but those dies also cost $45 (typically for 1 die image) so I wouldn't buy those anyway. That's really the only difference - size of the opening for the plates - between a Big Shot and a Cuttlebug.

Extended length plates are available for the Cuttlebug, and I have them but don't use them very much. I bought those through provo's site because I no store around here sells them.

Hey ladies! I have a question about the release of new Bella images. I placed my first order in...ahem... many years tonight, and I noticed there are TONS of new image lines in the store. YES, I have been living under a Stampingbella rock! lol!

Anyway, there were quite a few NEW cutie Bella images in the store since my last visit, and was wondering if new Bella images were released with each release, occasionally, or is it just the other lines now? What's the scoop? Bella images were my first love and will always be my favorite!

thanks!!

I've had neck & back problems for years - what I would suggest is leaning forward as much as possible instead of rolling your neck down. Also I try to keep my shoulders down & relaxed; if they are up near my ears it's not a good thing! Get up and stretch your arms behind your back to open the front of your chest & neck. Oh and red wine helps me too (but not too much if you're colouring )

As for the colouring I am totally self taught & it's a constant learning curve!!

I only use memento tuxedo black ink on bella's bestest paper & my copics don't bleed nor does it smear when I use pencils & OMS which I am starting to use more often

OK I've had the cuttlebug, Big Shot & now I have the Vagabond. I can say that my least favourite was the cuttlebug - I found it too fussy (needing shims etc) I liked the big shot and only decided the Vagabond would be a nice gift from hubby at Christmas. I will say it does cut and several pieces at a time perfectly if you do mass production cards. I find that the metal on metal instead of plastic on the big shot makes a big difference when you are embossing. For an electric machine it is nice & quiet. You do need the solo thin die adaptor for other companies dies.
I hope that helps - I know if you're in the states you can get them with the 40% off coupons so that helps with the $$

Anyway, there were quite a few NEW cutie Bella images in the store since my last visit, and was wondering if new Bella images were released with each release, occasionally, or is it just the other lines now? What's the scoop? Bella images were my first love and will always be my favorite!

thanks!!
Michelle,

There aren't new bellas with each release; i don't think we've had any for the past few but when Em gets an idea I'm sure there will be more Bella's. I must admit I am now in love with the Uptown girls they are fabulous to colour up!!

I'm with the babes I only use bestest paper - I have other stuff left over in my house that I don't even consider using. I've tried all of them that have been called "copic" paper and now I will just still with bestest!

Linda and I both bought our Vagabond on Thanksgiving weekend, over a year ago and I LOVE mine too! I gave away my Cuttlebug, gave away my Big Shot.

I love the vagabond..but hate that pricetag. Since this will be my first machine purchase I don't have folders or dies..so I am buying everything and starting from scratch. It has been recommended to me b/c of my neck and hands ( I have RA ) but gosh..that is a lot of $$ to spend to get the machine and just a couple of dies! I may do it..I haven't decided yet..but I have found a couple of places to get the Big Shot for like..$60...so I can buy it plus folders and some dies for the price of just the Vagabond....and that my friends appeals to my cheap side ( on a side note..my husband says I am the cheapest woman he has ever met..HAHAHA..I am not sure it that is a compliment or not LOL)

Does anyone have the Silhouette? I have a couple of friends that talk about getting that machine. Not sure what makes it different from the others.

I have it Laura...got it two years ago, after talking to Helen about it at the Bella store. I just really started playing with it, two weeks ago. I bought a subscription to get monthly downloads...I got a great deal!! Now, the difference with the SD and the Cameo...I have no idea?

I think the cameo prints AND cuts...I'm not sure but I've seen what people are doing with it and I totally want one!!

My cuttlebug died on me last month. I have a grand calibur but I've been eyeing the big shot. It just cuts felt like BUTTAH with metal dies...and I can't use my embossing folders in my GC. I was hoping to only have one machine but...I'm weak, sistahs!!

I have RA too! And I bet my husband would say I'm the Queen of "if it isn't on sale and I don't have a coupon I won't buy it". (Thank God he never sees my receipts for all my stamps!) But, I started with a Cuttlebug cuz I got a great deal. I STILL have my Cuttlebug. When I first found out I had RA I was having trouble turning the crank but now that I am flare up free I use it with ease. Good Luck!

I love the look of glitter added to cards, what kind of glitter do you usually use?

Thanks

My FAV glitter is from Hero Arts. It's so prismatic and ultra fine! It's all I use anymore and I get mine at Archivers.
