There used to be a thread called something like FACE (no clue what that meant but it rings a bell so I'm using it!)
Though we are completely debt free there always seems to be something we are saving for as a purchase...
Currently it is a riding lawn tractor. Two weeks ago we had 2 riders, both broken and 2 push mowers, both broken! Hubby is not a small engines man but he is learning!
He took mowers apart, ordered parts, ordered the wrong part once because he forgot to transpose the diagram to what it looked like when he was laying on the ground working on the rider, then he fixed the mowers...fortunately we live in the country so our acre of 7" tall grass doesn't bother anyone but us!
We now have 2 working riders and 2 working push mowers!!!! At a fraction of the cost for purchasing a new one. He used funds from the savings for the new tractor to buy parts to fix the other equipment and bide time for saving more.
Today I was looking at financial blogs that I have in my favorites, then followed a link...and found this...

I don't think the fruit will last the whole trip, so I plan on buying more & that's it.
I've not done well at all the last year or so with saving or spending so I'm trying to get back in. A friend and I are challenging/encouraging each other to spend $100 a week on food, toiletries, and household items. Last week was the first week and we went over about $30 going out of town at the last minute. This week, I went to CVS and did a couple of "deals" and now I have $62 to spend on food and detergent and diapers and we'll see how it goes. Since learning how much sugar is in everything I do think I'm buying fewer snacks!
I'm on a spending freeze for paper crafts. I'm not adding any fabric to my stash until I sew up some of what I have. Same thing with yarn.
Clothes I'm trying to make it myself or shop secondhand mostly because if I do that I don't have to worry about whether it was ethically made or not. (Which is another reason to sew my stash rather than buy more fabric.)
We're going to the library a lot. (Although this is also introducing me to a lot of books I want to buy, lol!)

So I tried the foil. But it didn't work as well as dryer sheets. My dish cloth was the only thing that had static, so I think it would work in a pinch. But I gotta admit, l like the smell of dryer sheets on my warm towels.
I'm going to talk to hubby about selling a vehicle come Oct. 1...I want to do the math on how much it is costing us to have the van which we only use to haul PS's harp...
When RB gets married then he will be off our insurance...and I think he will sell the Mustang so that will be off our insurance...
PS has 2 gigs in December which she is committed to and which she loves doing though they don't even pay for the gas to get her there...I'm sure we could rent a vehicle to haul the harp for less than we are paying for insurance and wear-n-tear on the van...
Also...on Saturday I'm taking cash to the Rubber Stamp Expo...going to see how little I can spend...I know I am looking for a specific shape of "Happy Anniversary"...and vertical sayings...I do plan to do a couple Make-N-Takes at one booth where I always do them...
