Just made 6 cards this afternoon with Washi-tape! Think I'll go downstairs and make a "scraperwannabe" colored washi-tape card...

Has anyone tried sharing part of a roll of washi tape before? Did you wrap it on something plastic? A clothespin? Wax paper?

I received some on a piece of cellophane bag...came off with no issues...

I have also wrapped it around the tongs of a plastic fork to give some away...no problems...

It's a great item to share...some rolls are larger than other (I think the original rolls were quite large, the ones from Michael's aren't so large....just my observation!)

With all of the talk about washi tape, I'm going to post this link for another idea on how to use it!

What a great idea! I have a huge tub of empty Skippy jars for my boys' garages some day...krapoppa uses them for nails, screws, bolts...and the boys want some too!

Doubt they will want floral washi-tape...

I've never shared Washi tape, but I agree some of the rolls are large enough to share. I'm still hoping someone will come out with a wadi tape you can easily stamp on to make your own .

I did not buy any Washi-tape yesterday...it was $4 a roll and the roll was very small in my opinion...the packages that were on sale for $7 were not available in colors I would choose...

Today's plan...open the items I did purchase and play in the stamp room for an hour this morning...

Some Darice embossing folders were the main item. I prefer to use them then enhance my card from that background...allows my simplicity to look more advanced!

A couple of wood stamps and some 6x6 paper.

And a pump organ built in 1891 (that's for Pink Snuggles to add to her collection of instruments...why oh why couldn't she have been content to play the recorder?) (the pump organ was purchased in the parking lot!)

i was at Michaels looking for that Organize. they were out. since washi was 1/2 off i did pick up one pack of two in orange. $1.00 a roll it was. The rolls i got from Pick your Plum are very pretty, not as big as the target rolls which were only $1.00 a piece and these from Recollections were not as big as the ones from Pick your Plum. I don't think i need anymore Washi for a while. It will likely be passe before i get all mine used up.

Is there an opinion in the house????

Here is the card I saw earlier in the week that I wanted to CASE: A Paper Melody: MFT'S March New Product Tour

Here is my card: A Card A Day: Spring Tulips

When I tried the Kraft on Kraft... or white on white for that matter... It doesn't look like the cards that I'm seeing. Do they put pop dots in between the layers?
When I tried to do that last night, my kraft on kraft looked "flat". Yet, when I look at her cards, they don't...

Misti, I think it's popped up a little, but the main thing I noticed is it's sponged with brown ink. It might be Kraft ink or maybe distress ink. It gives it depth and dimension.

to me it looks like they are sponging or using tim holtz inks with those sponge applicators, what do they call that technique? distressing with inks i guess.

I can see why you want to case those cards, they are stunning!

I think it's the multiple layers and added textures. Inking the edges always adds depth, sewing and embossing gives additional visual dimension, as well as the twine. And she uses several of those techniques combined on all her projects.

Your card is very pretty, you would totally have a very similar card if you inked the edges and added some twine.

A pump organ - how cool. I remember when I was little listening to my aunt play my grandfather's pump organ. Almost made you feel like you were back in "those" days.

I have to drive about 45 mins to get to the closest craft store, but once I do that I have some selection depending on which way I go. I can go 45 mins in 3 different directions and be at or near Hobby Lobby. In 1 direction I can also be at Michaels and in the other there are a couple of LCS plus JoAnns and AC Moore along with the other 2. The Walmart near my house does have a very few things but at least if I run out of adhesive I can run there if I'm in a pinch.

My closest is an hour, and its a very small Michaels. But I do enough damage online and at local fabric stores.

studio calico has peerless watercolors.

Transparent Watercolor Papers | Scrapbooking Kits, Paper & Supplies, Ideas & More at StudioCalico.com!

(and $10 watercolor brushes! OK, I have one just like that...and I'm positive I did not pay $10 for it.)

Anyway, I have SU! watercolor crayons.

Sell me on the pros & cons of Peerless Watercolors. Are they better than the crayons? I'm thinking, yes.

Is $24.99 a good price?

Do you have them? What do you think of them?

Never heard of them before. And I've never had the crayons. I'm afraid I'm old school when it comes to watercolors and still have the Prang palette from when I took watercolors in high school and several tubes of paint. I do need new brushes.

What do you not like about the crayons that you think will be better with these?

good question.

color palette. i think that's what it is. the color palette...more rainbow selection from the peerless. they look much more vivid, too.

Default Need CS input!

All right ladies. I need cardstock input. I've gotten to the point where I'm just picking up bazzill at Michaels, but it is textured and not heavy duty enough for card bases. I have Flourishes white and cream to stamp on and use as bases if I want, but I miss the "old days" when I was a demo and could use colored cs for my bases. What are your inputs?? Prices, weights, colors???

SU? PTI? MFT? Gina K?
