Okay, so I want to embroider Archer a bookmark using a drawing he did of a cartoon character. I'm just terribly, terribly slow with transferring patterns. I also want to make a friend a needlebook, but I can't quite decide how to decorate the front. Those two are my front runners. I haven't actually cross-stitched since I was a teen. I really loved some of the designs you linked, though. Maybe when I finish up some of the ideas I have rolling around in my head.

Oh, I do love me some cross stitching! And even when my shoulders hurt I can usually do 15 minutes of it. And 123 Stitch (the place I got the pattern) has stamps, too... if you need to ease into it.

OK, so you do HARD stuff... like transferring patterns. I just count to three or ten or twelve and make XX's

I didn't like this week's MIM. I'm sure given the right stamp it's very cool, but I can't think of a thing I have that would work.

i always check Michaels and HL for clearance. find lots of goodies for very reasonable there.

I still use lots of rhinestone gems and my new love is Candies paper brads and enamel dots. my Viva Pearl Pens in many colors get lots and lots of use.

I buy mine at Michael's when it's on sale...but I find they usually have the same thing, over and over and over again...which is okay at times!

Sometimes I find something in the clearance at JoAnn's...

And I bought brads from some place that you gave me a link! I've been quite happy with them...

I usually just buy rhinestones and half balls (not sure what to call them!)

GKD used to sell some flat looking copper nail heads...I use those on masculine cards...

I'd have to say most of my bling is from Michael's.

I think you could use the set you have. It would look like the vines blowing in the wind.

I have an enamel dot is-shoe!

Misti - flair/badges, wood veneer, enamel dots, sequins (from the SC shop) are the main bling for me. I get mine from Studio Calico; usually in my kits. They usually don't keep such things in the shop @ all times; however, you can find these things @ 2 Peas in a Bucket. 2Ps does have clearance sales, but you'd be paying shipping.

Candy dots (sticky buttons without the shanks & holes - these are usually Queen & Co.), rhinestones, brads, and charms. I also use twine, die cuts and shipping tags - not sure you'd call those bling, but they are accessories.

Just doing some info gathering....what challenges do you all either participate in or are aware of that do require you to use their stamps/images. Not talking about any other products...just images and stamps.

PTI makes you use one product but it doesn't have to be an image. The Waltzingmouse sketch challenge used to, but they don't have that challenge anymore. I assume their monthly challenge makes you, but I've never done that one. Um, I dunno what else. I think Paper Smooches has a challenge that you have to use their images? I guess I need to start looking around more.

I'm seeing more & more that require the company stamps... especially if there is a prize involved.

I'll look for some links in a few.

That's one reason we wanted to launch the Mod Squad blog....so anyone can play with a chance to win any of the prizes. Because I think it's MORE than reasonable to use a company's image/stamps/product when participating in a company challenge with a prize involved!
