Just write really big and you won't have to say much!

OR...have your little ones scribble a thought or two...then you can write the interpretation of what they said!
I think to non-crafters, especially male non-crafters , the card doesn't seem always seem finished without something inside? Jeff checks the inside of every single card I show him and only finds something 1 in every 25 times? Even to me, the wedding card I made the other day didn't seem right without something inside. But it took forever to find anything and it ended up just being best wishes. I'll definitely still make some blank cards, but I want the option of stamping an inside sentiment.

I would agree with this thought...

I also have several people who every month look through the cards I have made and they seem to always open the card to see the inside though I have reminded them that I don't stamp the inside of my cards...

My Jeff always checks the inside of the cards also... usually there is nothing inside. He even said out loud once that he doesn't know why he is still checking because he knows there is nothing inside...lol

Good morning Lori, Karen, Joyce and everyone else. It is cool, kinda grey and windy here today. I hope your day is brighter and warmer than ours.

Joyce ~ I buy SU stamps because I am a demo and have to (yes, I like many of the sets or I wouldn't buy them). Beyond the obligatory purchases from SU I don't think I've purchased any new stamps in the last year. I've seen some cute ones but am not sure which companies they come from. Sorry I am of no better help.

I will say that I am not a total fan of the poly (clear) stamps. Since I also use mostly SU inks they don't seem to ink the poly stamps very well. I like the idea that I can see EXACTLY where I placed my image but they just don't work well for me.

Well, it depends - LOL

I love Taylored Expressions, Tim Holtz, There She Goes....

Gina K has one called Northwoods in her new release that I just have to have!

I love Whipper Snapper and High Hopes as well.

SU, Odd Girls, Art Impressions, oh the list goes on and on and on

I like to color, so the companies that I like offer those kinds of images:

Flourishes

Penny Black

Lili of the Valley

Gina K. Designs

The Cat's Pajamas

Whipper Snapper Designs

There's more, but this is a good start!

Fave stamp companies: Lawn Fawn, Mama Elephant, CASual Fridays, Studio Calico, A Muse Studio, MFT, Taylored Expressions, Papertrey Ink, Technique Tuesday, GinaK - I haven't bought from all of these, but I want to.

Most used sets: Studio Calico Oh Snap has some cute sentiments. Papertrey Signature Sentiments gets a lot of use. For images, I don't so much have go to stamps. I like the Papertrey umbrella set. I love some of the nature sets from a muse. I love GinaK's Sew Pretty set. I'll use any set with a coffee cup at least a few times.

I don't color as much as I used to so things I used to use a lot aren't seeing as much use. One thing I do use all the time are my cloud dies from Papertrey. Lots of companies have cloud dies, though. Those are just the ones I have.

On the insides of cards, LOL, I don't stamp mine either until I am ready to send it on, then gear inside towards the recipient if I can. Gilbert still looks at the inside too, that s what got me laughing.

On stamp sets, I find I am going back a lot to my SU stamps. I just found LaLaLand crafts and I love their images for coloring. Also yumi and Fumi but I haven't purchased any from them yet it is a BIG want. I did purchase a digi from LaLaLand and have used it several times already. I like the few Ginak I have purchased or won they stamp beautifully and I like the simple clean style of the stamps she offers.

I just finished a three hour project of sorting 12x12 CS and DP. someone is gonna need to smack me if I purchase another piece of either in the next five years or so!! It looks nice though and I found a lot of treasures. Most of this paper came from a garage sale for a couple of bucks for a huge bag of mostly SU papers but a lot of other too, some beautiful print on one side and white on the other CS. I never want through the entire bag just dumped it in the drawer. I will surely have fun now!

Way to go Janeen!!! I have a slew of paper myself I need to continue going through. We are going to the beach for our anniversary at the end of the month. I am planning to take some scrapbooking things with me and quite a bit of the stuff with me to work on. We will be gone a week and I plan to use most of the time scrapping unless it is nice and then I'll spend some time at the pool. Either way I'm still going to scrap some things for sure.

Thanks. I am so bad when it comes to scrapping. I don't seem to be able to do it unless I go to a crop so i'm going to look at this like a weeklong crop. I'm going to set up 1 end of the table up with my stuff and work on it with beautiful views the entire time. I hope it works the way I want it to. I have not been able to get into the digi scrapbooks. I think it's that I don't have a 12" printer and I like the tactile part of it as well.

I have my books made for me by creative memories. I don't have a p
12 inch printer either. The books are bound like coffee table books. I have also used picaboo and shutterfly, both easy and free designs. CM is paid for software and so much mor fun. But the free places are a place to begin. I couldn't keep up with printed pics nor do I have the storage space for the big thick 12x12 anymore. I have made four and can't imagine where I would go the nine digi books I have if they were all that large. I get the hands on work from card making.

Let's talk white cardstock. I love PTI Stamper's Select white and I am down to 5 sheets. So I need to order somewhere. I know MFT has cs now that is nice. A friend just got some Neenah in her Studio Calico kit and was raving about it. What do you use, where do you get it (if it's not obvious), and what do you like about???

I do still have a pack of GinaK heavyweight, but it's just a wee bit too heavy to be my favorite for daily use.

I'm using Gina K's layering weight for my white right now. I'm really happy with it.

I currently prefer PTI white cardstock for my base card...and stamping.

SU-just used my last sheet and will not purchase again.

GKD-is a bit heavier than I like for my cards with layers (Kub used it for his Copics, I just use colored pencils)

Wally-my cards don't stand up when layered on this cardstock so I use this cardstock for when children come here for classes.

Each of the white cardstock is kept in separate files.

FOR CREAM base cards-(which you did not ask but I will share my opinion) I prefer GKD, I do not like PTI and I no longer have any SU which I did prefer over PTI.

Since I layer most of my cards with a few layers, the layering weight doesn't seem too flimsy.

Great question Paula, I am in the same predicament. I feel the same about GKD, I also found no matter who's I use the copics bleed through the GKD heavy is a bit too heavy as you say. Ilike the 80lb but was wondering if there is something better. I have never tried MFT. I DO like the CS I got from MFP, it says 140 lb but it doesn't have the thickness of GKD heavy and has a bit more texture to it, not shiny like GKD. I know Susan from
Http://simplicitybylateblossom.blogspot.com likes the MFP. Paula, if you have not checked out her blog, your stamping reminds me of hers and I LOVE her style but find it hard not to use all my supply's etc. so ther you got my two cents. I won't need to order for a bit yet since I found a few pieces of 12x12 white fromSU in my stash yesterday.

Thanks everyone for your answers to consider. PTI seems to be liked well enough by Kra and ms.laird any others?

I DO like the CS I got from MFP, it says 140 lb but it doesn't have the thickness of GKD heavy and has a bit more texture to it, not shiny like GKD. I know Susan from
Http://simplicitybylateblossom.blogspot.com likes the MFP. Paula, if you have not checked out her blog, your stamping reminds me of hers and I LOVE her style but find it hard not to use all my supply's etc. so ther you got my two cents. I won't need to order for a bit yet since I found a few pieces of 12x12 white fromSU in my stash yesterday.
Oh, wow! That is a huge compliment! Thank you!! I absolutely love her blog and her cards and her writing. She rocks. I'll look at their paper. Thanks!

Janeenk...what is MFP? I think MFT is My Favorite Things...is that correct?

A question...for those that use Copics, does it matter to you what weight paper you use if you layer your colored images?

I'm not Janeen, but MFP = Mark's Finest Papers

It doesn't matter to me on the weight since I layer my colored images. I'm looking for a smooth finish.

Mark's Finest Papers i have been known to stamp directly onto the card w/o layering not often but often enough that i keep 3.5 x 5 in thicker paper cut to paste over the inside back of the card. Otherwise, no it doesn't matter.

The weight for coloring doesn't matter to me either if I'm layering. I do like a sturdy card base regardless.

Janeen, I've enjoyed looking at Susan's blog this morning. It's been a while. It looks like she's mostly using PTI white. Guess I'll hold out until their new release and maybe a few days after in case MFT or someone has a St Patrick's Day sale.

the post i saw about the MFP was well over a year ago. i know high volume stampers get lots of papers to try from different companys. I think i am inclined to try the PTI also.

Thanks...

and for the smooth finish...that's what I was wondering about...if there is a difference in the front of the card and the back of the card...back doesn't matter since it is covered...but thank you...I have been noticing the differences of cardstock from images I get from different people but I couldn't decide if it is the cardstock that makes the difference or the ink...

Since I used colored pencils it doesn't matter to me but if I use markers (non-Copics) it does matter.

I do still have a pack of GinaK heavyweight, but it's just a wee bit too heavy to be my favorite for daily use.
I'm not gonna be NO help here...PTI Stamper's Select white.

if I need something thinner...SU! Whisper White.

I do have some white woodgrain from Studio Calico...

BUT, you might have already known all that!

I like SU Confetti White & Confetti Cream...I don't do much cream tho. What I do have is SU! Very Vanilla.
