I'm bumming. I wanted to participate in HYCCT this year but it just hasn't worked out. Between the kids move, the cruise and a wedding we have to go to when we get back .... I just dont think it will happen.
oh well I can look at y'alls great cards and use them as motivation later. Once we are back from the wedding I'll be ready to finish all those thank you cards I was working on. Thankfully I have plenty of Christmas cards.

Cher, it is TOTALLY okay to skip it entirely, but even one card sent to MD and properly keyworded makes you eligible for lots of prizes. Just if there's one that speaks to you or seems easy. But it really is okay to let it go, too.

Thanks. I think I'll let it go and just finally get my cards done for operation write home. A project near and dear to my heart since I have a son in the marines and many friends with kids serving our country. That should assuage my guilt. So I assume I can send cards to MD anytime? I know it's not all about pink but I got a lot of pink DP!!!

MD Anderson will take cards at any time. And Operation Write Home may be low on card donations with so many people sending to MD Anderson.

Here's the technique gallery. Stampin Up! Gallery: Kissing - Page 1 - Cards & More - Splitcoaststampers
And here's the challenge gallery. HYCCT1320 - Homemade Cards, Rubber Stamp Art, & Paper Crafts - Splitcoaststampers.com

Hope that helps!

Hiya! I need to come visit everyone more often. I didn't see this until just now. I get easily distracted, ya know, so I have been trying to stay focused on HYCCT this month and finishing up other deadlines.

This summer, Janeen forwarded a post to me about the DT call and I was so excited and a bit awed when I received the news that I was going to be part of the DT!

It's a position for the next few months. The company is a new online store for die cuts. They are carrying their own plus a few other companies. Their die cuts are really fun to play with!!! Some are wooden like you would see in schools and libraries and some are the steel wafer thin ones.

We should have a blog hop soon, and I will be sure to post that I have blogged!

Here's a snippet of one of my entries for "doilies"

Do people really pay for this?

http://www.catherinepooler.com/pages...itelysketches/

$84 for a year to get sketches? Can not believe people would pay for sketches but obviously someone does...don't they know Pinterest is free and so is SCS?

I can believe people would pay for sketches (although I totally agree the price for a year is high!!), but I can't believe there are no examples and she doesn't say who the crafters are that she partnered with.

amidst all the HYCCT challenges, three of the people in our connections have lost their battle all the last few days. I needed a lot of sympathy cards
I posted them on my blog if anyone needs ideas for those times in your lives. Seven new cards posted in one link.

I have a HYCCT question. When you put the cards and envies in the celophane bags are we supposed to seal them?

I hope so. Cuz I have.

I'm leaving the inside blank...because how is anyone going to know what's inside the card until they select a card & open up the clear envelope?

I reckon I could stamp images. But no "words" on the inside.

What are y'all doing?

Some have words. A lot don't. My thinking is on some of them - the cover up challenge for example - you have to look at the card to see what it says underneath.

I am giggling at myself. The first year, I didn't quite understand. I only made 4 cards so I am sure it was fine but I sent all my cards in one big baggie not realizing we were supposed to put them in individual cellophane! Last year I figured that out but did not seal the bags. This year a friend mentioned sealing each one so I thought I would ask here.

Most of my insides are wordless but sometimes I have a partial stamp inside, a bit of DP to tie inside and out together etc. but some of my cards are completely blank inside.

I put the envelope inside my card (no sentiments inside my cards) then put the card into a sandwich size ziplock baggie...and I zip it shut...

Insides are all blank...I seldom stamp any sentiment inside any of the cards I make...I write personal notes inside mine...the less I have to say the larger I write!

I did think about adding a sticker on the outside of the baggie that says, inside blank, but I haven't yet...

I wondered about that...so I stamped the words a second time on another piece of cardstock and wrote..."inside says" and put it inside the baggie so that it is visible as well as the outside of the card.

(Does that make sense?)

Giggling at myself because I thought...UHM...you didn't ask your question...but then I realized I might have missed part of the conversation as I was reading backwards...sometimes that just doesn't work!

That's a good idea. (and yeah...I noticed the other. hee hee)

We can put the label on the side of the baggie that shows the envelope. We can easily print those labels, too.

SPIN OFF - when writing personal notes in cards, do y'all write it out on scrap paper first? Then copy it to the card?

I mean...take kramomma's process...she writes big when she doesn't have much to say...what if she thinks of something later and starts writing small?

OK. I either need oxygen, sleep or more coffee.

(Does that make sense?)
This is what I do too, kramomma. Only I use printer paper cut to size, I put my envies inside the card, I seal the acrylic envies. On the coverup card I scanned and printed what the card looked like with the flap open

No, I do not practice my notes. I almost always start big and end up small and scrunched at the bottom or I start off too small and sign my name huge.

I have never actually used the envelopes, I've always used sandwich baggies. The foldover kind. So for me it's not really a big deal. I wanted to order the clear envelopes this year, but I'm not sure I have time anymore. And last year I sent 145 cards and that's a lot of envelopes! I won't have that many this year. Maybe 50?

It would be great if our printer printed straight on both halves of the labels...but...alas...it doesn't...

No to the first question so no to the second!

I must need oxygen as I already went back to bed this morning for a short restart and I don't drink coffee!

I should use printer paper too but reality is...I'm too lazy to get up and walk to the other room to get a piece when I need it...the printer paper in the stamp room are all used on one side!
