I used my score tape, but its not the best by far. But I was layering over it so it worked out. I just uploaded my card to the gallery.

Has anyone used folders by Nellie Snellen?

(Thanks again to scraperwannabe for her enabling me with some new places to window shop! )

I haven't. I haven't found a money tree, but that hasn't stopped me from finding a bunch of places to window shop.

Pinterest is a safe place to window shop to use what I have...but...oh the realization of all that I do not have! Glad I've learned that it is possible to change colors and shapes and still make a cute card...most of the time!

Today I need to design 3 cards for the stamp class tomorrow at the library...Got some ideas from Pinterest, now to go see what I can make for samples...

A lot of companies now have a Pinterest board & will divide up their sets with a separate page & put all of the samples on that one page. There is a lot of inspiration to be found there!

I don't know that I necessarily want to have to look via individual companies though I'd rather just see everything

Rather fun to have ME give an idea to someone! You brightened my busy day!

In the search section today I put "Washi tape"...then I put "Washi tape card"...pinned bunches of those but also when I found one that I really like I would then click on that person's name and look their the cards that were pinned on the board...

And thus...90 minutes was gone before I realized I hadn't gone back to bed!

I also put "SU cards" though I find now their cards are often made with die shapes from the Big Shot and I don't make cards like that! I make simple, clean cards.

Then I might put in "CAS" card(s)...sometimes adding the S brings up a different set of cards...

"Cuttlebug" brings up even different cards...

Fun time looking...and you don't have to have an account to look...you just need to know someone's username to get in the back door...several people have posted their username as public information so I don't think I am cheating the system, I'm just visiting...then rather then pin the item you can put it in your favorites...now if I could figure out a way to organize my favorites that would be helpful!

Here are the cards I made for the card class I'm offering free at our library today.

The graduation one has different options for papers, the local school colors are maroon and black...this is something tart from GKD, I thought it would look nice as an option. Also black & white DP.

They will have lots of options for their Washi tape card, of course I used my favorite tape!

The coloring image is slightly different than the one used last time but it is daisy and it is on the same size Spellbinder die.

Thanks ladies for the encouraging words...gives me a little comfort cause I am going WAY OUT OF my comfort zone...but life isn't always about me!

Ashjoy...the stamp is an older set from GKD called Flowers for Daisy. Flowers for Daisy

I use this set A LOT...as well as a single daisy stamp in a vase that I used in the last class.

washi tape.... since I'm really trying hard to not "buy" just because it's "out there"... I found a tutorial for faux washi tape ... I'm going to try it ...

it seems that you have to work a little carefully to get all the bits of paper removed, but otherwise... I think I like what I see

Cute...I've tried making Washi tape and it was never cute...this is cute...

Question...did you have to use another adhesive to attach the "Washi" tape or was there still stickiness that came through the DP? I'm a bit confused on that part!

It's also a different method that what you tried before you succumbed to the real thing. I do like that...like scraperwannabe says...great way to use strips of dsp...and omw! get matching washi tape.

IDK, but I would say it's still a little sticky. I've not ever unstickied scotch tape, ok.

hmmm... I'm not sure I can explain this easily but I'll try.

the 'sticky' side is up (with the paper adhered to it, it's not sticky so it can be 'up') so, yes... adhesive is required to attach it

With that tutorial, you lay scotch tape down on DP (if it's two-sided, it get taped down on the side you want to use). After soaking the strip, you can rub off all the back layers, leaving only the little layer of DP sticking to the sticky side of the tape. To use it as washi tape after that, you adhere the side that actually is the scotch tape, leaving a rough-ish faux washi tape look.

does that kinda make sense?

Really? I thought it was the other way, as in the scotch tape on top. the rough stuff on the back / adhered to the card. But then again, the way you say makes sense as wash is a little sticky...but man! I thought the scotch tape was on top.

ok.

mmhmmm.... while wash is somewhat sticky, this isn't at all. At least, mine isn't... except in places where I rubbed off too much DP

what I need to find now is what kind of adhesive to use that won't 'show through' - because it's so translucent, it's much like adhering vellum... think, think, think

I just tried to watch the punch board video but it wouldn't work.

Love the Washi tape idea.

You can also make your own washi tape using double sided tape and tissue paper, the you can stamp it and color it however you like.

Edith, that card is beautiful. I stick at clean and simple.

Forgot to mention that on Monday night my lovely gifted Cuttlebug broke The flood gates of sadness overtook (I wasn't finished preparing for the stamp class either)...

I pulled out the Cuttlebug I had purchased 6-8 weeks ago as a backup, I knew the original was having issues...

When I was no longer in panic mode I decided that I can still make the handle turn so I am using it until it really no longer works...then...I will probably set it on a shelf that is visible from my stamp table as a place of honor for the hours and hours of love that using that gift has given me to give to others!

It truly has been a lovely gift that has kept on giving through the years...

My cb wasn't cutting as well as it could, so I upgraded to a vagabond. I kept the cb as a back up just in case.....
