Default September - Blogging With Friends

It's September and that means it's my turn to hostess our monthly challenge.

The month of September ushers in the Autumn Season. In GA the leaves begin to turn about mid September and by the end we are relieved of blazing temps.

My Challenge is to make Autumn card(s) and or project(s).

I will post a little reminder later this month so that if you have the time and the inclination you can show us your fabulous project(s) on the 30th!

I can't wait to see what everyone creates!

I bought some olive colored twine yesterday to use on this card...now to figure out a layout and stamp image idea...

The farmer's are in the fields harvesting...that is one idea I have...

I love twine! I am ALL THUMBS using it and it adds probably 20 minutes to any card I make when I use ribbon or twine but I love seeing it on cards. I have always had clumsy hands. They just don't work well tying, etc!

I am about to download mine from camera to see if I got a decent photograph. Mine was a quick one I did last night. Not 100% sure I love it....but I like the IDEA of it!

It's interesting to me how I can have a card idea in my head but when I get the card finished it doesn't look anything like the one in my head...this is a perfect example!

Didn't even use the stamp I had planned...or the papers...only the colors...and theme...

I think the dry embossing looks like hay bales when done in yellow!

Kramomma, this is lovely!!! You are right, what a great embossing folder to use for a fall card! I know what you mean about starting with an idea but somehow in the process the art has a will of its own and goes another way! Love that beautiful image and the pretty green ribbon! Fabulous sentiment! Thanks for playing along this month!

I played too. My original card for this challenge is the Kraft and teal one, however, I ended up making three fall cards altogether so you all can decide which one you want to comment on. Just visit my blog and scroll, and if you don't have time for that, I understand.

Soon our trees will be looking like that. . Right now they are just turning with more green than color but oh so beautiful on the horizon.

When did you change your avatar pic. Or am I confusing it with FB pic?

I have a theory on that. It looks very Dirty Dozen head shot to me. Guess we'll find out in 2 weeks!

I changed it this morning. Steve took it last night for something I needed.

Our trees are still very green but there are hints of color here and there and oh my the LOVELY weather we are having!!!! I think Elisabeth told me the news said we had one of the coolest September's on record. It has been lovely!

Default September Flybabies card - Fall/Autumn Cards

I can't believe how this month cheeped up on me and then all of a sudden, it's the LAST DAY of the month. And at this hour, it's almost October.
So now that all my chores are done, dinner has been made and eaten and the kitchen is clean, I thought I'd better sit down and post my card.
This is the first time my computer has even been on in about 3 days, weird.

OK, so I used the new Label Card die from Stampin' Up! to make my card. I used the Jacob's Coat technique for the inside of the card.
Well, I hope you all like it and I'm sorry for being so late.

Queenbea...did you use a SU die cut for that fold or did you purchase special pre-cut card stock? I have some pre-cut folds that I should get out to use again.

Mollymoo...I went searching...found nothing...

mrslaird...are those leaves die cuts on dp?

Once I started I thought of another card to make...maybe Red Bear will get it photographed this morning and I'll post it.

Have to laugh at Red Bear...I had on the table 2 cards for him to photograph for me as well as a "cover" piece of cardstock!

Both cards are September feeling cards...

Kramomma, you have the sweetest stamps! Love all your cards! On my card it's Faber-Castell Gelatos (bought at Michaels with a half off coupon) smudged on cardstock and die cut into leaves. I added some veins with an SU marker. It took no planning and about 10 minutes total. And that's why I never clean, y'all. There's usually enough stuff on the top layer to throw together a card.

Queenbea, I'm with Janeen! That fold is beyond my ability, but it sure is a stunner!

Misti, you rock the florals!

Paula, what a great card! Perfect for this time of year with the leaves and back to school note paper! I like the way you grouped your leaves and added the button!
